Chapter 8 - Julia

Xavier Kingsley's Point of View

I have grown. In my fifth year of age, soon close to my sixth. I've studied numerous histories and subjects- which, of course, not on par with my knowledge. The studies I've been working on these years were easy. I have to admit that it was easy because of my learning as Gray. Although I started at fifteen, I was still able to cope up for another fifteen years.

Now, I've learned many other studies and even more complex mana. That includes the magic that this world had adapted. For five years, I had not awakened my inheritance and still have no clue how to. My mana is denser than before, but I only managed to thicken my outer soul. As of now, I'm a graduate of homeschooling at a very young age, overhauling other prodigies and geniuses.

But I can't change the fact that I was indeed advantageous. But that still won't change the fact that I was abused and belittled. I stood firm and endured everything. Although it was tough, I was still able to stand. Two years ago, I lost all those who meant something to me. Now, they've all separated and lived their lives. Gavin and the escorts had moved to different locations in the meantime, or should I say- for the last two years.

I've grown close to Evelynne and the Granted Marchioness. With that said- I still was treated unreasonably amongst the elites and even lowly titles.

Xavier Kingsley's Point of View End

"Your highness," Emilia called out to me.

I stared at her from my desk, "Is there any new reports?"

"Yes, your highness. The Granted Marchioness and the other concubines of his majesty will visit this night. Shall I inform your servants to prepare a banquet?" Emilia asked.

"Why am I only informed now?" Lawrence glared.

Emilia flinched. "I'm sorry, your highness. The message that was supposed to arrive last week but delayed due to the messenger's incompetence."

"Call the messenger inside." Lawrence flared.

"I understand, your highness." Emilia bowed and continued to leave.

Lawrence massaged his head, relieving his stress. 'How dare a mere commoner ignore his responsibilities to send a mattering notice?' He thought to himself. His thought was interrupted by a knock from his door.

"Your highness, I have returned." the voice of Emilia was on the opposite side of the door.

"Come in," Lawrence answered.

The doors opened, Emilia and a man came inside. The man looked displeased by the call and avoided the gaze of Lawrence.

"Your highness, the messenger is here," Emilia said before going beside Lawrence's desk.

Lawrence's presence heavied as he sent glares at the messenger. "Speak," he ordered.

"I have not done anything wrong. I've relayed the message, didn't I?" the man arrogantly answered.

"Impudence. You dare talk to the prince like this!" Emilia shouted.

"Enough," Lawrence said. He took out a paper and threw it before the man, "I've created papers for your arrest. You will be release by the end of next year."

"What! Outrageous! I'm The Granted Marquess's Messenger! Who gave you the right to do this to me! You worthless prince! You're no more than a lowly prince! Know your place!"

Lawrence sighed, "Then shall we wait for the Marquess's arrival this evening?" his intimidating aura, though young but still fierce. He sent the ugliest and dirtiest smirk towards the man.

The man flinched, his body weakened, and he began to fall. "Your highness! Please, it was my mistake! I had acted impudently! Please forgive my sinful being!" he pleaded.

"Take him away to the dungeon," Lawrence commanded his guards. "We will continue this matter soon after dusk," he added.

The man's face crumbled as the guards forcefully dragged him away. Lawrence gave out a sigh before continuing his duties. Managing the mansion's budget and everything else, he then proceeded to the notice.

"I want each servant to start working. They will receive an extra paycheck for working overtime. Do extra cleaning around the mansion and prepare the garden. We shall hold an immediate banquet." he told Emilia while handing out a paper to her.

"Understood, your highness," Emilia answered and carried on outside the room.

Lawrence waited for Emilia to leave and scanned some of the papers.

Lawrence stared at the door and called one's name, "Julia... enter as you wish."

The door opened, and a smirk of a playful little ten-year-old girl appeared. "Your highness," she smiled, moving onwards to Lawrence.

"Isn't it terrifying to have someone go back and forth inside the mansion without being detected nor being seized? Why are you here, Julia?" Lawrence asked.

She gave me her sweetest smile of admiration before beginning to speak, "The only person, other than the emperor himself, of course, who caught me off guard and discovered my presence. Who's three years younger than me, Lawrence. Why would you think I won't visit frequently?"

"Despite being matured and being the child of the Monarch. You still have some time to lust over me, don't you?" Lawrence cocked his head.

"How immodest!" she gasped sarcastically. "I would never~" she added while leaning her head on her hand, smirking.

"Still as playful as you are." Lawrence sighs. "What do you wish?"

"Just some time with his highness." she smiled.

Lawrence flinched at the request and gave another sigh, "You didn't even hesitate, huh?" Lawrence stood from his chair and gestured his arm towards Julia.

She clung to him, smiling. "Yey!"

"I'll give you an hour. Leave before I call the other guards." Lawrence said.

Julia pouted at the statement of Lawrence. "Meanie! At least give me some time to enjoy," she uttered with complete disappointment.

"Then you can come by tomorrow." Lawrence nonchalantly said.

Julia stopped walking, "Really?" she asked, her eyes sparkling.

"Then I'll take back what I said." Lawrence teased.

"No! No takebacks! You're so mean!" she pouted.

The two enjoyed their walk throughout the mansion. An hour passed, Lawrence escorted Julia into the attic. Inside this attic is where you find a window door out to a balcony above the manor. The view is magnificent and is something to behold. A memorable scenery but not for Lawrence. It was the place where he found out about Julia.

Julia is another nuisance of his life that arrived later after his return. After having new people and losing some old ones, the manor became too rowdy for Lawrence. He then discovered the attic of mystery, a large space with many things in it. But Lawrence dared not touch any of the previous land lady's belongings and maintained everything from where they were.

But after some scanning throughout the attic, he found a window door that goes into a random balcony. The balcony was a magnificent place to relax. The noise disappears from above, and the view of the city and mountains were to behold. That's where he saw a little lady who was jumping from trees to trees with a cloak on. She had wavy short emerald hair. It was too beautiful to be neglect.

That as the day he continuously notice the young lady's movements and observations. After being caught looking at her, the young lady chose to attack Lawrence, who acted as if he saw nothing but failed to do so because of Lawrence's retaliation.

"I'll be heading out now, your highness," she said before jumping down calmly off the balcony. Her presence and movements disappeared as she mixed in with the trees.

'She's one heck to deal it.' Lawrence sighs.
