"That's what I also told Yoshi when I first met them!! Right, Yoshi?" Mei tugged her boyfriend's arm and slightly shook it whilst waiting for his response.
"Uhuh," he turned to face them and shifted his gaze to the owner and the other barista. "Guess what Sakura, I also asked Haru what would your reaction be if you ever see them together."
"Seriously? Well… I'm… I'm actually speechless right now," Sakura blinked slowly.
Due to her line of work, it is common for her to see celebrities and models from time to time, and only a few of them left her at a loss for words. However, the charisma of the owner and the barista was on a different level that it made her too starstrucked.
Sakura then noticed the newly arrived colleagues who stood near them.
"Did you see their outfits? I literally love her fit, and the way he fixed her collar when they got off of her auto was everything! I really want to have someone like him," a man with round specs sighed then pouted.
"I thought they're models? If not, she must be the owner then? Damn, she's so stunning!" a lady, who has long black hair with blonde front streaks, said.
"And I suppose he's the co-owner?" another man with a curly undercut asked with his neck craning to where the owner and the barista were. "Her boyfriend… or a barista?"
"He's really gorgeous," the first man gasped in admiration. "Imagine having a boyfriend who works as a barista... Imagine waking up to a cup of brewed coffee every morning made by such a handsome guy!"
"Mm… now that you've said that... I wonder how he'd like his eggs in the morning," the young lady commented. The two men widened their eyes at her remark and the three chuckled thereafter.
Sakura and Mei overheard the conversation. They simultaneously looked at each other and hit each other's shoulders lightly, trying to stifle their laughter. They couldn't blame their colleagues if they were bedazzled with Haru and Kyoko's beauty. Sure enough, not only women but also men would fall for Haru's charms.
Mei faced Kiyoshi and asked the same question she just heard a moment ago, which definitely made him laugh. Sakura, on the other hand, was still staring at Haru who was already at the counter, but Kyoko wasn't with him anymore.
To her surprise, Haru instantly spotted her from across the room. He caught her staring at him, and he briefly held her gaze before smiling at her. She returned the gesture and even waved at him, and when the lovers saw Haru, they waved at him as well.
"So who decided to play songs from LANY?" a woman's voice was then heard from behind.
"I did," Kiyoshi answered. He had already seen Kyoko approaching them from his peripheral view. "Why? You got a problem with that?"
Kyoko rolled her eyes at him, while the latter only smirked.
"Come on, it's dedicated to the heartbroken owner," Kiyoshi added who also received a light pinch on the arm from his girlfriend.
Mei gave Kyoko a tight hug and when Sakura turned to see who it was, she stared at the woman with the midnight blue hair with her mouth agape in astonishment. Her hair was tied in a high pony, and she was dressed in a deep v-neck sleeveless knitted sweater on top of a white long-sleeve button shirt with three buttons undone, black dress pants, and black pumps. Her outfit was also accented with a beige buckle belt and a set of gold necklaces and earrings.
Seeing her up close, she could tell that Kyoko was just a little smaller than Kiyoshi, and her cat eyes and the beauty mark near her lower lip were really attractive. Her clothing perfectly fit her physique, and her aura was truly overflowing.
Kyoko glanced at the doll-faced beauty, "You must be Sakura? Ahhhhh! I've been dying to see you!"
The pink-haired lady beamed at her, and when she was about to offer her hand for a handshake, the tall woman grabbed her wrist and pulled her into a quick hug, which made her eyes widen.
"You are definitely lovelier in person! I've only seen some of your pictures, and they really don't do justice at all," Kyoko pulled away from the hug and gave her a wide smile.
"Please, you're way lovelier!" a happy smile escaped from Sakura's lips. "I'm so glad to finally meet you, Kyoko!"
"I've heard a lot about you from Mei and Ayaka. I know you're also close with Haru, but the guy must be shy to talk about you," the owner laughed softly.
Mei noticed that Sakura was unusually silent the moment Kyoko appeared. She presumed that it might be because of Kyoko's intimidating presence because she also felt the same way when she was introduced to her. And so, she clung her arm around Sakura's arm to make her feel at ease, "I told nee-chan how we easily clicked when we first met at work and how we almost have the same likes. Since both of you are dear to me, I also want you to become friends."
Mei smiled sweetly, and Kyoko gleefully nodded in agreement.
"Sakura was curious about something tho," Kiyoshi said, and Sakura narrowed her eyes at him.
"Hmm? What is it?" the owner looked at the barista first, before looking at Sakura with a smile plastered on her face.
"If you and Haru are dating," he replied, making Sakura's cheeks feel warm.
"We had the same reaction, nee-chan! You can't really blame us if we thought you're a couple!" Mei chuckled.
Kyoko chuckled as well. "How could I forget your reaction, Mei! We've actually heard that a lot, but nothing's going on between us. Why? Are you interested in him?" she asked with curiosity in her eyes, while the couple looked at Sakura as if she was being interrogated.
Sakura really felt ashamed for overthinking and for assuming so much last night. Yes, she got a bit curious about the real score between the two, but that was just it, so she didn't expect that Kyoko would return the question to her. As she stood in front of them, she thought of apologizing to the café owner first then to the handsome barista to get rid of the uneasiness she had been feeling in her chest!
