"Should I give you free coffee for the whole week next week?" Haru was certain she'd say yes. Who wouldn't want free coffee for the whole week?
"Tempting, but no," Sakura wagged her index finger in disapproval. She's confident that she'd win, so his suggestion was too easy, especially that it's his specialty.
Haru became absorbed in his thought as he gazed on her lips. He could no longer think because he'd prefer to just listen to what she had to say.
"You're taking too long, Haru," she smirked and sipped from her glass.
"Do you want me to get drunk and finally see me pass out?"
She let out a soft laugh, "Do you really want to get dragged by me?"
"Why not? It would be a pleasure to get dragged by someone as lovely as you," a corner smile appeared on his face along with a dimple on his cheek. He was not sure why he said that, but he was enjoying this conversation.
"I'm sorry, but you what?" she chuckled and gazed at him. "Are you flirting with me?"
Haru's ears felt warm with the unexpected comeback of the lovely lady next to him, so he shifted his focus back on his food, "I could only think of the free coffee. Any bet will do. Just tell me what bet you want."
"Really? As in anything?" she grinned, and she earned a nod from the handsome man. "Great! How about… if I don't get drunk, you tell me a secret of yours you don't want to share with anyone, but if I did, I'd tell mine."
"Alright, deal," he raised his glass before drinking his booze. He mused what secret he would spill to her. Should he talk about his dream where he was kissing her, or something about his past? EIther way, it would be a challenge for him, so he wished he'd win the bet.
"Promise?" she showed her pinky finger.
Haru hadn't had anyone who made a pinky promise with him, so he found it truly adorable. He took her pinky with his pinky, but it surprised him to see her blinking her eyes with her lips slightly parted.
"What's wrong?"
"Ahh, it just reminded me of someone who thinks this is childish, so we never really did this," she muttered.
"I'm not that someone tho," he swung their fingers. Even if she didn't exactly tell the name of that person, he had a hunch that it was her ex. "I'll tell you a secret if you don't get drunk. I promise."
Sakura chuckled and let go of his pinky, "It's alright if you also think this is childish, but thank you. Prepare yourself because I'm not getting drunk tonight."
However, right after dinner, Kyoko and Sakura started their drinking sesh at the dining area. She opened up about her recent breakup and sought advice from her new friend. The others already knew about this, so they just stayed in the living area. They played some card games while a movie also played in the background.
After almost an hour and a half, the two ladies went back to the living room. Kyoko's eyes were already puffy and her cheeks were reddish from crying. In contrast to her, Sakura looked so giddy and smiley. They continued their sesh with their friends for another hour until the tall woman finally suggested to start their drinking games.
They played beer pong first, and before the second game of 'Who's Most Likely To', they all settled on the floor, except for Mei and Kiyoshi who were sitting on the couch. On the floor, Kyoko and Sakura sat next to each other. Haru was on Sakura's other side, while Nana was on Kyoko's side. Ayaka was seated in between Haru and Nana.
Before the last game commenced, Nana had already told Haru that she's already sleepy, so he stood up from his seat and told the group that he'd just prepare his and Kyoko's rooms where the ladies would sleep. While they waited for him, they continued the party and talked with louder voices than before, and because Kyoko and Sakura had been drinking ever since after dinner, redness was already visible on their cheeks.
When Haru returned, they decided to go with King's Game, wherein players would be given chopsticks with numbers and one King. Originally, the King would only choose one number, but for this time, he would choose two numbers. Those with the said numbers must then do the King's order, and if they would not, they would have to take a shot of Japanese whiskey.
"So who's the King?" Kiyoshi asked after handing them the chopsticks' holder.
"Me!!" Ayaka shouted happily. "So… I'm choosing numbers 1 and 4, and they have to spell out 'Congratulations!' with their butts."
"Easy," Kiyoshi placed his chopstick with the number 5 on the table as he stood up.
"It's just the start, you know," the petite woman laughed wickedly.
"Who's no. 5? Come on, stand up!" Mei gestured her hands waiting for the person to stand up.
Haru stood up, scratching his neck.
"Wait, I just realized that Haru can't get drunk, so he has to do all the dares!" Sakura burst out laughing.
Kyoko also laughed so hard that she almost rolled on the floor, "You're dead! Since only 6 of us are playing, we're all gonna get wasted. You're gonna carry us upstairs!"
"And who said I'm gonna carry all of you? I'll leave you here while I sleep upstairs," Haru smirked, and everyone guffawed.
Unfortunately, it seemed to be one of Sakura's unlucky nights as her cards were mostly drawn. After the two men did what they were told, her number and Kyoko's number were picked by Mei and were challenged to chug down a mug of beer with their arms crossed. Ayaka picked her number again, as well as Kiyoshi's, wherein number 3 should kiss number 4's ear. Of course, they both drank their shots instead of doing it.
What made it worse was she was mostly paired up with Kiyoshi's, so drinking her shots made her drunk easier than expected.
"I want number 2 to hug number 6 for 3 minutes," Kyoko dared.
Sakura and Haru simultaneously revealed their cards on the table, and their gazes locked.
"That's too easy what the hell," Kiyoshi snickered.
While Kiyoshi and Kyoko were playfully bantering, Sakura wrapped her arms around Haru's neck, almost brushing her lips on his ear before whispering 'sorry'.
Haru's ears turned red upon feeling her soft lips against his skin, but at the same time, he was confused as to why she was apologizing. She was also all giddy and loud a while ago, but now, she has turned quiet. He glanced at her as he held her in his arms. "What are you sorry for?" he whispered near her ear, his brows knitted together.
Sakura didn't respond. She only nestled her head on his broad shoulder and sighed in relief. She wanted to apologize earlier, but she kept on getting interrupted. Slowly, her eyes felt heavy as her body melted from his warm embrace.
