She held my shoulders gently.
'Siso, we all know how much Johnny likes you" I rolled my eyes and shook my head.
"And we also know how much I dislike him"
"You know what sis,I had a crush on him!...but he liked you so I shrugged it off"
She said and pouted. I tilted my head upwards. She was joking anyway.
"But there's always a thing I say, when someone loves you and you treat them badly but they still treat you good and care about you, then they leave you or forget about you, then know that you lose someone....very special" She said passionately.
"Exactly, that's it, that's how Arvin is to me, so I can't afford to lose him!" I stood up.
"Don't be such a killjoy, today's your birthday, let's enjoy!" She said changing the topic quickly as she hugged me from behind me. I smiled slightly at her smartness and shook my head.
"Smart ass".

"Mom, dad, you bought this for me?" I looked at the box in my hands with surprise. They nodded with a smile.
"Thanks so much" I stood and hugged them with glossy eyes.
"You always wanted this though it was expensive and we couldn't afford it but Hannah convinced us to buy it for you so we gladly did" Mom said. I gave Hannah a 'I'm- grateful' look. She smiled at me.
"You guys are getting late for school" Dad finally said. I wonder if there was any dad who liked to swag so much. My dad was like that. He always wanted to look young. Even my mom didn't do that. I eyed him in his outfit secretly and shook my head at him before smiling.
"Yes" Hannah said and grabbed her bag. We sat in our dad's old Nissan Versa. He drove us to school. I waved Hannah and walked to my class. Hannah and I didn't attend the same school if you were wondering.
My eyes met Johnny's eyes when I entered the chemistry class. He sat in the front row. He looked away quickly when our eyes met. I looked at his smooth forehead and rolled my eyes. I never noticed he was that handsome, honestly. His jaw was perfect and his green eyes looked beautiful and innocent.
He was the boy who always liked me despite the fact that I disliked and ignored him. He was so shy. I smiled at Arvin and sat by him. Well, I moved out of my position and a guy called Duke now sat there with Matilda.
"Meet me at the parking lot after lessons" He whispered sweetly and winked.
"Keyword" I whispered back and he rolled his eyes.
"Please" He said more sweetly in a sarcastic tone. I giggled as classes began.

I stood at the parking lot with my phone in my hand. I tapped it lightly on my palm and curved my lips. It's been more than seven minutes and he isn't showing up. For all I knew, he was a punctual person but I was getting impatient.
Soon, I saw an athletic figure coming towards me. I smiled gladly and made to meet him but to my dismay again,.....it was Johnny. I turned and made to go.
"Jessy, I...." He held my shoulder gently. The nerves of this guy. I jerked myself and turned to face him.
"Why are you here?" I curled my lips again.
"Firstly, I wanna to give you this" He said with gleaming eyes. He smiled and a sort of admiration flashed in my eyes for him but it went as quickly as it came. I sighed as he handed me a small parcel. I glanced at him and opened it. My eyes lit up with excitement when I saw what was inside the box. I felt myself being so touched and I felt like hugging him. Great...from anger to.... whatever it was.
"How did you afford this?" I gaped at him in surprise.
"My savings, they helped a lot" He said shyly.
"A diamond ring?" I raised my brow. "It's impossible" I almost whispered.
"I also borrowed from some of my friends" He said scratching the back of his head. I swallowed. He had to do all this...for me. I wonder how much he spent.
"Ooh" was all I managed to say.
"Well thanks, I like it" I flashed him a charming smile and he grinned awkwardly.
"I've got to go" I said after an uncomfortable silence. "But...I can't accept this, it's so expensive" I said slowly.
"Uhm..but" I watched as his features faded to a worried look.
"Ok fine" I said as I knew what he was gonna say. He smiled gainfully and I smiled awkwardly. I turned to go.
"Uhm Jessy?" He had his hands at his back respectfully. I found myself admiring him more and I felt like laughing.
