Chapter 2 - Who Knows?

"Should we approach him now or wait than?" Questioned the armor.

"Let us wait and continue to watch. The color should make itself known through his personality." replied the tattered cloak.

"Yeah, well lets not stay here to long. These people are so poor I can't even use money to purchase food."

Tattered cloak just laughed. "I told you to bring things to trade."

"That's to cumbersome."

"More like you wanted to show off your wealth. Just keep in mind even the nobles wealth in this country doesn't match a peasants in another."

"I am well aware but what good is having money if those around you are to poor to know what it is. I wonder if father would buy this place for me."

"They provide no export from this village so you would have to appeal to his charitable side and who knows how well that will go."

"As usual you are correct master Merle. Let us just hope we can find what we are looking for."

No Name continued into the woods refusing to let his situation get the better of him. He kept going until he arrived at a small cave in what could barely pass as a hill.

There he sat down on a rock that he used as a chair and opened one of the tattered scrolls that laid on the floor. It was only a part of a story but he allowed his imagination to fill in the rest. It was at this time that he heard a low growl approach the cave.

Fear filled his body as he hadn't heard that growl in years. As the shadow filled the cave he knew it was to late for escape and fighting it wouldn't help. He sighed and accepted his fate. After all what better day to die than the day he was born.

The bear stopped and sniffed the air before letting out a ferocious roar that made No Name's knees shake. "No. I will not die without a fight." Firming his resolve he let out a deep breathe.

It was at this time that he felt a warmth flood through his veins. This warmth quickly started to get hot and burn from the inside. Fearing death from the inside he did the only thing he could think to do was mentally push it out of him.

The results were far greater than he imagined as a massive explosion of fire flooded out of his body igniting everything around him. The flames licked at the bear's fur forcing it to squeal in pain and anger. The ignition of the scrolls covered his body from the bears sight thus making the bear think the intruder had died in that burst. With the rest of the cave being covered in flames there was no point in it staying around to get burned so it fled.

No Name collapsed but fought against the encroaching darkness that clouded his mind. Just before he succumbed he heard a voice.

"Well he finally shows he has magic but such a normal element to use in such a dire situation that I still cannot tell what color he is."

"Who or what am I?" He gasped out out before saying no more.
