No name found himself in a weird landscape. The sky above had a rolling fire, where the area he seemed to walk was pure rock instead of air. the substance he walked on appeared to be solid air. There was no sun therefore the only source of light came from the flames.
He wondered aimlessly for awhile before he encountered a gathering of larvae. They were all roughly the same height as him. The difference seemed to be that some had weird protrusions from their backs, heads, or above their butt. He let out a sigh realizing he was once again the oddball out.
Just as he wondered if he could ever find a place to belong a voice echoed out.
"All of you have finally arrived to the primal plane. It has been thousands of years since our kind has walked the earth. Some of you have our blood but it has been diluted. Others have come here seeking to change the race they are from. However one of you here is truly a pureblood. Though still a larvae with barely any magic this person has arrived. His blood sings of the egg still despite his body craving flight." The voice was deep and seemed to come from everywhere.
No name sighed since it seemed as if this voice was talking about him, but he lacked confidence so he didn't waste the time believing it was him. Filling the information about where he was away he began to wonder how to return home.

Merle looked at the soot and devastation caused by the fire and couldn't help the satisfied smile on his face.
"Why are you so happy? Even a novice larvae can produce this much fire." grumbled the suit of armor next to him.
"True but Skelly can't you see? He did this without training or a name if the villagers are correct."
"You know I hate that nickname." Skelly growled. "And if he truly has no name how can he use magic at all? I thought having a strong sense of self was important for magic."
"Normally that would be true, but if he is what I think he is than his race creates magic where others merely take advantage of whats in the area around them. His lack of a name would greatly hinder his growth but wouldn't be able to prevent it in its entirety."
"Ugh. This magic nonsense give me a headache. Just give me something to hit with my sword and I shall be fine."
"Ahhh." A voice of pain came from the center of the cave making the others present look over at him.
"Why is he still passed out after such a feeble spell huh Merle?"
"I am assuming that he used all the magic in his body while it was trying to grow. So right now there is no magic inside him and his body is suffering because of it."
"So will he die than?"
"No far from it. His body will view this as a need of requiring more magic to sustain himself and therefore increase his mana storage. Usually students are monitored when they do this to ensure they don't actually die. So this can be viewed as getting a start on his training."
"Just because his race supposedly creates magic inside themselves does not mean he will be proficient in actually using it. I say we should also teach him the sword."
"We've been over this. You know if he is the one we are looking for than he will be able to master magic and return his race back to this world."
"And what do we do if he's not? Would you leave one of them to suffer what he is suffering?"
Silence met this question as Merle gave it some deep thought. "Fine either way he can come with us and if he's not who we are looking for you can teach him which side of the sword is sharp."
This seemed to satisfy the suit of armor as he said no more.

The voice in the sky seemed to be droning on and on but No name was no longer interested. The voice was only talking about how great they would be and how they had so much power. No name just couldn't buy it after all if these fellow larvae were part of the same race as the voice speaking while hadn't the voice shown itself? Or for that matter why hadn't anyone heard of this race before? It was all to fishy and No name just wanted to go home.
Looking around all he could see were the others still enthralled by that voice. So No name decided to return the direction he came hoping to see how he got there so he could leave. Just as he took that first step horrible pain wracked his body forcing him to cry out.
The pain did not subside but rather intensified. No name fell to his knees at the same time that his anger flared up. He wouldn't let anything hold him in place anymore. Just as his resolve became firm warmth flooded through his body yet again. This time it didn't start to boil him from the inside but rather the pain seemed to lessen wherever this warmth spread.
Gasping for breathe he forced himself to envision his cave and how it should look. He acknowledged to himself that what he was doing might be dangerous but he wanted to be home to much to care. The warmth started to seep out of him as he closed his eyes not wanting to see what happened just wanting it to happen.
When he next opened his eyes he found himself in his cave. The sigh of relief he let out alerted his two visitors that he was awake.
"So you have decided to return to the land of the living have you?" The voice sounded old and when No name looked he did indeed see an old man but was confused since an old larvae was unheard of. "So tell me son do you know who you are?"
Finding his voice took a minute and it sounded dry when he did speak. "I do not wish to be rude but doesn't proper manners dictate you share your own name before requesting mine? Especially when it is you inside my place of residence."
Merle let out a small chuckle. "I see being raised in such a small village has not dulled your mind nor hindered you on learning a decent vocabulary. My name is Merle and I am on a quest from the regant to locate the true king of Neutrum. I believe you are part of the same race."
No name just shook his head. "Though this is a small village old scrolls can be found in the ruins if one is brave enough to venture there and with nothing else to do reading helps pass the time. As far as who I am I have no clue nor do I even know what race I hailed from. The only thing the villagers say about where I came from is to say is that it was a cursed day when my egg hatched."
"So you did indeed come from an egg?" Merle could barely contain his excitement.
"I have no proof of this it is merely rumor. Now if there is nothing else may be you should be on your way."
Merle gave a strange look. "Lad why would you send us out so quickly. I haven't even had time to explain to you my theory."
"I have had enough strange things happen today between starting a fire with my mind and traveling to the primal plane..." No name's voice trailed off as he heard what he just told these strangers.
Excitement returned to Merle. "You just went to the primal plane really truly?" it was like the old man was a child. "As for the fire thing I can help you control that."
"How and why?" Replied No name almost immediately.
"Well the first part is easy to explain. I myself am a magician. As for the why that ties into my reason for being here. After all if you cannot use magic than it would mean I am wrong about you."
"Kid either way do you really wanna stay here." The echoy voice sounded from behind No name.
Turning to look No name saw a larval being in heavy black armor with a giant sword on his back. There was an eerie green light coming out of the joints of the armor slightly and it was especially bright in the visor where the eyes would be.
"I have no where else to go." Replied No name.
"That is what we are trying to tell you. My friend here is just to excited to speak plainly. Come with us find out if you are part of the race we are looking for and learn how to fend for yourself along the way."
The offer stunned No name. It was hard imagining people actually wanting his company. He quickly turned back to the old larvae to confirm this.
Merle gave a simple nod and said nothing more waiting for the decision. No name considered it long and hard while observing how the other two reacted to him taking his time to answer. Unfortunately, this told him nothing as neither of them seemed concerned. Figuring he had nothing to lose he finally nodded.
"Great than all that's left is to figure out what to call you. Since it is your life you must be the one to come up with it. This will make accumulating mana easier." Merle said with barely contained excitement.
Again No name had to think on this. He looked around trying to find inspiration but nothing spoke to him. Instead he found himself traveling down memory lane and thinking to himself, "I dont want to forget where I came from." With that thought in mind a name was decided.
"From this day on myself and others shall refer to me as Nona."
