Sandy and his team had been kept busy with the guards who are fighting really hard, and the guards seem to have the upper hand... Sandy ran towards two of them and attacked them with lightning in his palm, both of them hopped off the way.
Jade had no problem on her side of offense, she played her violin intensively all the while sitting on a chair as waves portrayed off her violin pushing back many of the guards, she changed the melody to another epic tone making the wave in crescent form. She drew the final tone sliding the bow off the strings and swiped it in the air as if swinging a sword pushing the crescents towards the guards that were heading their way... Slicing through them as blood splashed off their bodies.
Jayden on the other hand used the wave from his palm to push off many guards heading his way, the more he pushed... The more they came into view. He looked around himself and saw he was surrounded by guards with taser batons in their hands, he smirked spreading his arms wide as if he's gathering energy around him before crossing them over his chest, slightly bowing his head as if in prayer and waited... The guards were getting close but he remained calm as he breath deeply for few seconds before release a large effect with force by sliding both arms in the opposite directions which produced a massive circular wave that pushed them off the ground. The impact made many of the guards make contact with the walls, others with the pillars while the rest to the ground.. All of them spat out blood making the white shining tiles turned red.
Freda had been running around really fast that the body of a normal human can respond to quickly, golden auras of cheetah surrounds her body as she commenced on some of the guards.. It changed into a gorilla and swept three guards off the ground into the air, she hopped into the air and punched them all down with reflexes of an ape and she landed with her leg slightly strayed from her body with her left hand to the ground.
Sandy stood up and looked around him as he pants heavily to see the massacre they has caused, the sight was unfriendly as blood and corpses filled everywhere. He had blood on his clothes and face too, he walked sluggishly towards Jayden who was squatting by a pillar looking tired.
"How're feeling?" Sandy asked.
"Awesome." Jayden smiled. "But something doesn't feel right."
"Yeah.." Sandy looked around. "I thought I alone felt that."
Jade walked towards the boys as they survey the area.
"These men are just normal guards." Jade said with concern. "They may have little gifts... But not advanced enough."
"Good observation." Sandy said. "Unless...."
"Unless what?" Jade asked.
"The one's more powerful..." Freda lifts her head. "Are above us..."
"Don't tell me they knew we were here.?" Jayden asked.
Silence
"Well... They knew." Sandy answered. "Don't forget they were after Freda and Zoe in the first place."
Silence
"So what do we do?" Jade asked.
"We should head up." Cheryl answered.
They turned around to see Cheryl at the door with her arms folded above her chest, she had a maniac smile on her face.
"Glad of you to join us here." Sandy smiled. "But the issues is... We don't know where they are."
"I might be able to do that." Freda rubbed her head. "But I get drained each time I use it."
They all looked at her as she rubbed her forehead worried.
"Well we don't have much time...." Jayden said. "We've got to do something about those advanced gifteds in this arena."
"This ain't no game." Jade yelled.
"Hey... Chill." Jayden said as he dodged.
Freda looked at them for a while before lifting her eyes up as her pupils transformed into a glowing yellow and black pupils.... Eagles eyes.
Her vision expanded as she used the visual prowess of an eagle to see through the top of the hall they were in and began to see yellow figures heading through a passage way, as she saw another set of figures waiting in ambush two door from the ones proceeding... She understood at once that the rescue team is about to walk into an ambush.
"They're other gifted above us and ready to attack." Freda said as she kept looking upwards.
"How many?" Sandy asked as he sketched something on a plain card.
"Eight of them." Freda finished.
"Then you've got to prepare yourself Jayden." Sandy smiled. "Cause we're are gonna be needing those wave of yours."
"Purpose?" Jayden asked.
"We're blowing up to the next floor." Sandy smiled.
"Seriously?" Jayden gawked.
"Yeah...." Sandy tilts his head. "We've got no other choice mate."
Silence
Jayden sighed heavily as everyone waited for his response, Jade walked to him and placed her hands on his shoulder.
"You can do this." Jade smiled. "I believe in you."
"Alright." Jayden nodded then looked at Sandy. "Let's do this."
Freda suddenly collapsed but was quickly held by Jade who was behind her, Sandy looked over towards her as he dropped his left knee to the ground and his right fingers rested flatly on the floor. He closed his eyes in deep concentration as he slowly brushed his fingers on the ground, Jayden on the other hand opened his legs slightly like a military man who's at ease under his commandants command. His fingers opened widely as of he was going to conjure out something out of them with his eyes tightly closed as if in pains, wind like wave swayed around him like water ripples that is coming in instead of going out.
Cheryl picked up a stone and began to toss it into the air, it will go upward a little and back to her hands and she continued this gesture with her left arm on her hips... She slightly bent to the left side resting her weight on the left arm which she placed on her hips.
Sandy looked at her as she kept tossing the stone in the air, he looked away... But looked back again to see what has caught his attention.
"You've got nice gloves." Sandy smiled.
"Well.... Don't get used to it." Cheryl mocked. "Cause it's my gear."
"Likewise mine." Sandy laughed.
Silence.
Jade slowly pats Freda on her head as she hums a melody that caught Sandy's ears that made him closed his eyes almost shedding tears.
"Alright.... Am ready." Jayden said heavily.
"Are you?" Sandy nodded at Cheryl.
"Of course... What are we waiting for?" Cheryl laughed.
"Then let's do it." Sandy said. "The moment we head upward... Jayden blow off the top... Cheryl.... You know what to do."
"You've got it." They echoed.
Sandy looked at Jade as she holds Freda in her arm, she lifts her head and stared at Sandy... Then she nodded at them to go on without them.
"Are you sure?" Sandy asked.
"We'll be fine..." Jade smile. "We can take care of ourselves... So go on."
Silence...
"Alright... Here goes." Sandy said as he slapped the floor.
The ground shook and it began to pull up into the sky like a pillar; taking Jayden and Cheryl with Sandy who was in charge of pulling up the pillars, they were close to the roof when Jayden suddenly spreads his arm as if about to fly... Eyes closed he took the hands and raised them to his chest as if he's absorbing energy.
With great effort he raised his hands towards the roof exerting a large amount of wave blast to the roof, yelling as he kept his hands to the roof.... Boom..... The roof began to crack, breaking as the remnants flew upward instead of coming down to the ground.
Jade looked upward as dust began to drop down on them heavily, she picked up her violin and began to play making a spiral wave shield that pushed off the pebbles that had escaped his brothers wave blast... She continued without stopping as more bigger pebbles hit the wave, each time it hits the wave; the more she adjusted herself so as to brace herself for more impact that was coming... Freda on the other hand watched Jade tire herself out while she laid on the floor without much strength to move her body.
"Damn...." she grunts. "Why am I feeling like this?.... She can't hold on for long and I on the other hand is out of strength to save or defend anyone... I need to break this limits of mine."
More bigger pebbles began to hit Jade's wave shield and they began to cover them within the shield like a fence. Jade tried every means to keep her hands on her violin and bow without stopping, but she kept panting with difficulties for she's out of energy because the first battle they had to undergone had drained her to her limits.
Soon her swaying arm slowly began to slow down making the wave became weaker and easy to Infiltrate as pebbles fell into the wave.
"I can't hold on... Anymore." Jade turns slowly to see Freda. "Am sorry."
Freda's memories jolted back to the period she met Zoe. Both of them stood at a hallway large enough that one could guess it's a palace, both of them had white laboratory gown on.
"How are you this strong?" Freda asked.
"Learn to push your limits." Zoe replied.
Silence
"But how." Freda bows her head.
Zoe walked close to her and lifted her face to meet her own.
"You'll know when to push your limits." Zoe smiled. "When you have to protect someone."
Her attention came back when she noticed a big stone, big enough to kill both of them if they're are caught in it.
"I need to break my limits...." Freda thought as she clenched her fist. "And I need to do it now.... Nothing else matters.... I need to do it now."
The stone collided with the ground and dust filled the air, few minutes after collision; the dust began to fade off as two figure came into view... They were a bit far from the large stone and were panting heavily.
"How did you do that?" Jade looked at Freda in disbelief.
Jade sat on the floor... Tired but laughing triumphantly as the tattoos on her body began to fade away.
"Those marks...." Jade observed. "There are of cheetah.... Right?"
"Yes...." Freda laughed.
"You've just unlocked a new phase." Jade smiled.
"I will call it beast mode." Freda looked at her hand as the tattoos disappear. "Guess I have to push harder."
"Push what exactly?" Jade asked.
Silence....
"My limits." Freda looked at Jade with grin on her face.
