Chapter 11 - There was nothing we could do...

Isaiah

Day 0, 11:24

I held my bat like a lance as I charged head first into the crowd. I stabbed straight through a girl's intestines like tissue paper. I used her body as a battering ram to disrupt the group. I could tell that my makeshift battering ram was a little surprising because she didn't even try to fight back.

"Disembowel, dismember, or decapitate. I say to Cortez as I tore free of her abodomen's grasp. Cortez recoiled in disgust as he was showered in black ichor from a guy's neck he just sliced open.

"What's next," he said as he tried to wipe off him with no anvil. "dick shots?" I laughed at the comment as I caved in a face.

"Lets see if itll work." I lined up a shot with the guy that was reaching for Tez. I under swung so hard that it knocked him off his feet. You could hear the pelvis break under the force of the blow, we both winced in sympathy. The guy rolled on the ground clutching his groin, black blood seeped through his pants confirming that his balls had popped. Tez stabbed him through the heart to end his suffering. The last one tried to get away but I threw my tomahawk and it embedded into its skull like a metal ponytail.

"Dude how did you do that?" He pointed to my battering ram's corpse. "It takes a lot of force to impale someone like that, especially with something as blunt as a bat."

I looked at my gore splattered hands. It did seem pretty weird that I had that kind of strength.

"I don't know. Now that i think about it, my bat seems as light as a pool noodle. It doesn't even really feel heavy at all." I pointed my bat straight out by the handle; it didn't even dip at all even though it had most of its 7 pound weight at the other end.

Cortez flicked the blood off his blades before returning them to their sheaths. He was about to say more when we heard a scream come from the other side of the hall. Before my mind could even process this my feet were moving in the direction of the sound. Cortez blinked in confusion before sprinting after me. I nearly ran into lh as I turned the corner. He didn't even glance back as he ran away clutching his injured arm. I finally saw why he was running.

Three used-to-be students had Marquee by the back pack and were dragging him into the nearby classroom. They knocked into the spread open door causing the magnet to disconnect and slam shut. Payton was on the ground freaking out and Sarrah was nowhere to be seen. I knelt down to help Payton up while Tez ran to open the door for the kid he was arguing with only minutes prior. He stopped short of pulling it open as he looked through the glass window.

"Holy fuck." was all he said aa his hand fell from the handle. I pulled up Payton with a little more force than needed then brushed Tez out of the way so i could see.

"God..." was my only response when I saw the disgusting scene before me. There was about ten people over two figures, one white and still, the other black and fighting feebly. Cortez was reaching for the door handle but i beat him to it.

"No." i say not looking away from the scene. "There's to many into close conditions. Im not risking it." Tez scoffed at me.

"You and Markee took down those ones trying to get into my room. How's this any different?" I still don't look up at him as I talk.

"One, we had the element of surprise. Two, it was a huge open area without chairs and desks or bodies. And three it's already too late." I stepped away from the window so he could see. His face paled as he looked into the window again. They were literally tearing open Markee's stomach with their bloody hands. Yet he was still trying to push them away even though his intestines were all over the ground. I turned to Payton.

"What happened?" I ask trying to get her to look at me. She was fiddling with something in her hands and still didn't look at me when I grabbed her shoulder. I look over at Tez and call him over.

"Let's get back to the classroom, I don't want any more surprises." I lead Payton by the arm at a brisk walk, hoping that we wouldn't run into any more trouble on the way there.
