Chapter 13 - The Dance

Day 0, 11:40

I walked out the door after Isaiah. It was pretty easy to tell Isaiah was mad, i mean he almost cut a chair in half with a damn tomahawk for fucks sake. We step over the bodies in front of the door and start walking to the left instead of right. I pull my blades out of their sheaths and smile at the sound of the metal scraping the hard fabric. We walk a few steps before I realize it should be pretty impossible for him to do that even if the tomahawk was razor sharp.

"How did you do that?" I asked him while I was watching our six.

"Do what?"

"Cut the chair like that."

"I don't know. I just cut hard that's all." He walked around very relaxed almost like it was a normal day at school.

"Shit!" he pulled back to the wall just as he looked around the corner. Still watching our backs I ask him what's wrong.

"We got around twenty maybe twenty five fucks spread out across the hall," his voice was slightly muffled as he looked around the corner. "The closest is a third of the way down the hall from us- fuck!" He pulled back fast looking at me. "One of them saw me."

Just as he said that a faint growl came from around the corner followed by some screeches and then the sound of multiple footsteps could be heard.

"Might as well meet 'um half way." said Isaiah as he walked around the corner to meet the group head on.

A smile spread across my face as I walked around the corner brandishing my blades at my sides. I saw Isaiah adjust his grip on the bat and charge. He rammed straight through the group like it was nothing. Bodies hit the ground with a dull thud, making the ground shake. Once Isaiah was on the other side he yelled over to me.

"Meet me in the middle!" He yells as i see him swing at the fuck closest to him making her head explode like a water melon.

I grinned the feral grin of mine as I rushed into the horde. I swung left and right, the blades cleaving through bones effortlessly. I was a whirlwind of gore and death as I danced my way toward the middle. It was strange, the dance of the death. The feeling of pure unrestrained fury was my constant melody as I made my way closer and closer to Isaiah. The sound of flesh being ripped and torn was the symphony that fueled my destruction. The blood in the air rained all around, soaking me head to toe in its blissful gore. The entire time I was laughing, my body filled with the euphoria of finally being able to let loose the havoc it craved.

Out of the dozen fucks that i had killed none of them had laid a single hand or mouth on me. I was in constant movement. The bloody faces blurred as I moved faster and faster. I was just way too quick. My reflexes were sharper than they've ever been before, the bloodlust had seemed to heighten me to my full potential. There were only two more left between me and Isaiah, he took his tomahawk and hurled it, making it bury deep within the girl's skull. And for mine I took my blades and cut off its head in a scissor like manner, it fell on the ground with a thud and its body followed soon after.

Isaiah and I stood there surveying our carnage.

On my side there's body parts thrown everywhere, the occasional head here and there, blood and gore coats the floor and a little of the walls.

On Isaiah's side they're broken bones jutting out of limbs, obliterated skulls ground into the floor, chest cavities caved into show destroyed organs. The scene reminds me of the Bog of Sadness for that one movie with all the black blood all over the place and body parts poking out of the puddle of oil.

I looked over at Isaiah to see the smile matching mine. He heaved out a heavy sigh.

"I needed that." He began to step over the bodies and walked over to the nearby water fountain.

"Why don't you use the bathroom?" I ask as he begins washing his hands in the stream of water.

"Cuz," he splashes his face, rinsing off some of the gore there. "I don't wanna get cornered in the bathroom. 'To cramped." He shook his hands vigorously to dry them before grabbing his bat.

"Let's go to the catwalk so we can see what's going on downstairs." I nodded. Still covered in ichor, we walked back up the hall and past the classroom. We crouched down on the catwalk and glance through the rail to see multiple crowds of freaks tearing into bodies of fallen students. From what i can see, the majority of the schools infected were down stairs. Without speaking Isaiah and I crawled away and went to the classroom door.

"We're gonna need more help."
