Chapter 8 - BAD TEMPER

I don't know how long I've been asleep but when I got up the room is filled with all types of clothes. I'm usually not a heavy sleeper so the fact that someone brought all these things in the room and I did not hear a thing is surprising. One rack is filled with long dresses, another has short ones. There's a rack with tops and another with jeans and shorts. There are shopping bags filled with lingerie. At the corner of the dressing table there's more shopping bags filled with shoe boxes. Everything in this room is made by designers only celebrities can afford. Dolce & Gabana, Jimmy Choo, Vera Wang, Christian Dior and the list goes on. All these beautiful clothes and shoes and jewelry at my disposal. I would've been extremely happy right now if I wasn't being held against my will.

On the night stand, there's a note which says 'When you're awake come downstairs, P.S. look nice'. Why does he want me to 'look nice'? 'You're his slave so just do whatever he wants and live to see another day', the voice at the back of my head spoke. I looked down at my current attire in disappointment then I walked over to the piles of designer clothes and shoes I picked out a simple outfit and shoes to match, brushed my hair into a ponytail and was on my way out the room and downstairs to meet my master.

On my way down the stairs Lucio was on his way up. He was paying more attention to his phone before he noticed that I was five steps away from him.

"I was just about to check on you," he says in his heavy accent.

"I'm sorry I overslept" I felt like I needed to apologize. I don't know how long he must've left that note.

"You don't have to apologize, you must be hungry," Lucio stated the obvious. I can't remember the last time I had a hot meal.

He ushers me into a really large yet dark dining area. The table is huge and can hold twelve persons. Why one person would want all this space, I thought to myself. The size of the dining area should be the least of my worry at the moment. What I should be concentrating on is the abundance of food placed in front of me.

There are two plate settings. One situated at the head of the table and the other at the left side of the table. Lucio directs me to my seat then takes his. Of course he sits at the head of the table and I to his left.

"I hope you like spaghetti, my housekeeper prepared dinner for us".

The food is so delicious I'm eating like a dog who has no intentions of sharing. I look over to Lucio's plate and I noticed it's untouched. When I look up to him I found him staring at me and the way I've been gobbling down the food. My face instantly turns as red as a tomato from embarrassment.

"I'm sorry, I haven't had a good meal in days", I whispered, but loud enough for Lucio to hear me.

"You don't have to always apologize to me Mya, I understand".

He understands! How could he possibly understand the horror I've been through over the past few days. He will never understand the pain he's caused my family and I.

"Did I say something wrong?" Lucio asked, did he notice my discomfort? How do I respond to his question? I want to tell him the truth but I also do not want to get into trouble, "you can talk to me Mya, in order to make this work we must be able to communicate with each other".

"I was just thinking", I started slowly, trying to come up with the best possible response or a lie, "that", …come on Mya, the truth shall set you free, "with all due respect, I don't think you can fully understand", there I said it. I don't know what has gotten over me because I continued talking.

"I was a law student, about to graduate in October. I was at the top of my class. I would've gotten soma cum laude, something I was working really hard for. My parents worked really hard to put me through school to support my dreams and I was doing so well until that one night that took everything away from me. I was abducted, assaulted, almost raped, a man was killed and thrown into the ocean and I witnessed it all. You will never understand the pain you people put me through…"

"ENOUGH!!!" my heart jumped out of my mouth when Lucio shouted at me. The next thing he did was shove his plate on the floor. Both my hands are covering my mouth in shock at his outrage.

Lucio sits quiet with both his fist clenched as if he's thinking about what my punishment would be for talking out of line.

Oh sh#t… what's about to happen to me now? Why had I not just shut the hell up? In my mind, I'm in full panic mode. I'm terrified to continue looking Lucio's way. I look down and saw the broken glass and food splattered all over the floor.

While looking down at the floor I notice Lucio's chair draw back and when I looked up he was exiting the room.
