"Do you mind if I walk up to close the door?" I wanted to know he wouldn't panic.
"I will be fine with the door closed." He agreed.
I walked to the door to close it. I heard Joe close the trailer door and knock on the side. Signaling the stinky driver to pull out and head off. I was slightly miffed but knowing this guy was safe now made me happy. I backed up from the door and with my thoughts again asked "so can I ask what happened that made you so afraid of humans?" He had twitched when I asked him the question.
"So many thing have happened with humans I find they are not very trust worthy." He answered shaky.
Listened as each horse in here, understood him and imparted their worse events to him. Always the last to go was the mule, my heart hurt as he retold his events to the young gelding. How he had flipped over many times from the non stop beatings. How his legs hurt often and they would make him pull the cart or carry the kid. It was once he was done, he glanced my way and said this to the gelding, " I understand you fear her, but know that I did for many years until she came in and made my pain much much less. She will not hurt you she will help heal you as she did me." He hobbled back to hi s favorite spot and said no more.
"I have been with her most of my life save the first year. She has always given me respect and care. I cannot know what you have been through but I can say you won't go through it here." Warrior stated with utmost certianty.
"And him?" The Gelding eyeballed Joe.
"I am of no harm to anyone save keeping an eye on this lady's safety." Joe announced via thought to all around.
I was a bit surprised he could do that. "How can you manage to talk to everyone with just your thoughts?" I asked.
"Trait dragons have. We can talk to all species." He shrugged.
"Ah," was my all powerful come back to that. Not the best but couldn't come up with much else.
"Once we are finished in here, Lada asked me to take you out to meet her. She wanted to start your lessons." Joe used a rich deep voice heavy with Latin accent.
"My lessons?" I raised a brow at him. I couldn't even think what he would mean.
"Magic lessons" he informed rather matter of fact.
"Magic?" I repeated. A bit surprised at his words.
"Yes the kind that you did in that cave, when you captured." Joe still matter of fact. As though it was no different the wind outside moving the trees.
"How do you know about the cave?" I was surprised a bit by his mention of that.
"We all know about the cave. It was a helluva snub to their faces what you did." He turn, his light amber eyes flashing with pride.
"Oh," was all I could come up with. I seen him grab the fork and wheel barrow and start cleaning stalls. I went ahead to grab the other and the extra wheel barrow. I started on the other end.
We both met in the middle, "I was wondering would you mind if I brought my horse up from the south?" Joe asked out of the blue.
"You have a horse?" I was kinda stuck and a bit surprised.
"Yes," he chuckled. "I have a criollo stallion a lot like your Warrior in color." There was a smile on his face. I seen him suddenly turn and look at Warrior. "Would you mind?" He asked him.
"No," Warrior said and turned back to his hay.
"You would be ok with it? I will help feed and care for them as well." He turned back to me.
"As long as Warrior doesn't mind and you share the work I am fine with it." I shrugged. Red never wanted to have a horse. He liked his motorcycles and cars.
"Great! I will send word to have Fury, sent up." There was a huge smile exposing his fangs and and dimples on each side of his smile.
I understood his excitement. I would be the same way with Warrior. I watched the bounce in his step as he put the tools away and then both wheel barrows.
"You ready?" I seen Joe turn to ask.
"Yeah, I am not sure how to change." I mentioned shyly off hand.
"Hahahaha," Joe laughed out right, "its as easy as changing your clothes!" He said with flare.
