Chapter 103 - Goodnight

As he couldn't even use his Atlas anymore, forcing the change was out of the question.

'The fuck do I do then? I'm not going back 700 years just because some jackass made it so...'

Deciding to construct a whole new array instead, the main character was just about to leave when a piece of the array caught his eye.

'Tf is this?!'

He closely examined the sequence of runes, learning that they were there to help along a contradictory, paradoxical event.

Still, not finding any way this piece of information could be relevant, the main character simply decided to create an entirely new array formation. Walking to the side, he bit into his badly bruised finger before squeezing blood out for his use. Unfortunately for him though, as soon as the first rune was laid, it disappeared, the array formation the main character had discarded taking it's place.

'Now what!'

He thought on the verge of exasperation.

Trying it a second time, he drew another rune on the empty floor which was soon replaced by the array.

'Well, there is one thing left to do, isn't there...'

Going back to the duo waiting patiently on the side, he drew a rune on the ground, which was later replaced by the array formation. Directing the two across the array, the main character said,

"Okay, now we must create a link made of qi between us. Through that, we shall transfer our qi to the other person... That should activate the array but let me warn you, once we start, we mustn't stop! Or else we will end up messing with the nature of time!"

Excuse me what?!

Lenny and the city lord were taken aback as they asked what he meant by, 'messing with the nature of time...'

"Well, this is a time altering array after all, so if we do it wrong, we may be sent to an alternate time line or something..."

*For fuck sakes, [Author] are you really gonna make me say what I said in the last chapter verbatim???*

The two seemed to think he was playing around but looking at the array, it did give an ancient and primordial presence. Yet, time manipulation, coming from a sixteen year old sounded too preposterous. Though, his casual attitude did make them wonder whether he really was sixteen year old, or if he was a master that had ascended beyond the mortal flesh...

Regardless of whichever it was, in their eyes, the image of the main character had now been bolstered to greater heights. After all, he had casually spoken about manipulating the most fundamental law of the universe, the law of time.

That was a feat reserved only for the all powerful and the highly acclaimed, but in front of their eyes, the main character had created the same miracle. At least that's what he said... whether or not it really worked, no one knew.

Noticing their expressions, the main character assured them, "If you don't believe me its alright, we just have to activate the array... its effects will give you enough reason to trust me..."

The two agreed to his words before doing as they were instructed. The city lord transferred some of his qi to Lenny, while Lenny transferred some of his, to the main character, but since the main character didn't have his own qi to use, he simple directed Lenny's towards the city lord.

As they did that, a white glow appeared connecting the three in the shape of a triangle. That was soon followed by the runes that slowly lit up!

"Okay now, maintain the state of your qi flow. If we're even off by a tiny bit, the effects of the array may be altered..."

The two nodded their heads in conviction, maintaining the flow of their qi with absolute control. And as if to reward their efforts, after a while, the runes that had lit up, seemed to come alive as they lifted themselves off the ground, slowly floating up into the air with lively and innocent movements.

They then started to spin around the trio, the spin speed increasing with each new addition of runes. By the time there was only a single rune left on the ground, the spinning runes had melted into an unrecognizable ring of white light. When the last rune had finally lifted and joined the race, a loud fundamental shockwave, spread. The spinning runes had now disappeared into oblivion.

Not knowing what was to come next, the duo searched for the white light that had vanished, only stopping when Lenny exclaimed. "In the middle, look!" Turning their heads, in the space between the three; a transparent, soap bubble colored, distortion had appeared.

Looking at it curiously, they were just about to discuss it amongst themselves before the distortion suddenly pulled them in and disappeared without a trace!

This time around though, the main character remained. Looking around, he too was surprised as to why he was the only one remaining but chalked it up to, "I'm the main character after all..."

Deciding to wait for them, he laid on the ground thinking of all the things that have already happened.

"We've surly come a long way..." he though, getting comfortable on the bare ground Feeling a bit sleepy. Thinking about it though, he decided to set an alarm, just in case he slept for too long.

'If they return, then they wake me up. if they don't then alarm

 will naturally do it...'

Setting the alarm, her looked around before nodding to himself, 'Yup, all is done. Goodnight...'
