"That's not possible! I double checked it's structure before activating it... There is no way it happened due to the array! No way!"
"Calm down, you two. We have yet to confirm our situation. So let's stop pointing fingers and start finding solutions..." the city lord seemed to be the only one who was undisturbed by the situation, presenting a strong and reliable figure for Lenny and the main character. His words seemed to have worked as the two quickly calmed down.
"Now lets proceed..." turning back to the guards, the city lord asked, "What do we have to do to get inside the town?"
The guards looked at each other, seamlessly communicating amongst themselves. Turning back to the city lord, one of the guards responded.
"A silver coin is to be collected as entrance fee for foreigners."
The city lord let out a smile as he immediately summoned three silver coins into his hands, before passing it to the shocked guards.
The guard had seen the attires of the three and judging them to be from a wealthy back ground he had increased the entrance fee from ten coppers, all the way up to a silver coins... But never in a million years had he thought he would profit three silvers in a single day. That was almost a years worth of salary as a guardsman.
Even the other guard was having a hard time keeping it together realizing the amount of profit they had just made. Not wanting to get found out, the guard that received the coins cleared his throat before turning around and opining the town's gate, allowing the trio to pass through unperturbed.
Thanking the guards, the city lord led the main character and Lenny into the town, loud cheerful noises being heard in the background.
'They can't even keep it together... and to think all that is over silver coins? Only goes to show how much in need these people are...'
But it wasn't just them though, looking around, beggars could be seen littering the streets. Actually, with their tattered cloth, oily skin, and dishevelled hair, every single one of them looked like beggars. The only distinction being the fact that the beggars had lost hope, sitting or lying their with their arms spread forward in the hopes that someone would give them some money. It didn't even matter if they got any, they were waiting to die anyway, so they might as well make some money while their at it.
Thankfully, the deeper they went, the better things got. The people looked normal and hygienic, going about their business in a hurry. Eavesdropping on the conversation taking place between two of the town's folk, the trio were able to learn that the town was in a state of distress as monsters kept attacking them. The origins of the monsters were not pinpointed as they would come from some place beyond the forest before wreaking havoc on the town.
"This... I remember this!!!" The city lord said with a shocked expression. It was the mostly revised topic during his childhood, of course. What topic might it be, you ask? Well, the formation of the modern day Earthmire city would start with the discovery that the monsters terrorizing the city hailed from a secret realm that would be discovered by the Price family's ancestor...
'I must locate my ancestor first!!' The city lord thought as he made his way through the town. Unfortunately, since the attire the three wore was a little too nice, they ended up attracting a myriad of unwanted attention. Spreading his senses, Lenny could feel about ten people following them from the shadows.
Stopping to ask for some help, the city lord described his ancestor as well as he could going off of that painting they had seen earlier. To his surprise, the man he had asked knew who he was talking about and told him the directions to where he would most likely be at. Thanking the man, the city lord led the trio forward.
After a while, they reached a bar. Entering it, they drew the eyes of many attracted by their attire. It was evident that these people were rich...
Searching through the customers, Lenny pointed towards one corner of the bar where a red headed man could be seen, sipping on his drink. Walking towards him, *Glitch* the city lord asked for his name.*Glitch*
The man raised his eyes in caution as he asked, "Whose asking",
*Glitch*
*Glitch*
*Darkness*
Only the Main character experienced this strange phenomena before everything went black.

'What's going on?' He though as he looked around, trying to make sense of the situation, when suddenly, he was yanked back through the darkness, flying back at unimaginable speeds. In that darkness, a bunch of scenes flashed, rewinding before the main character stopped. Returning back to when the trio were still in that multi-layered white underground space.
'Wtf just happened?!'
