Chapter 95 - A Clairvoyant Person

The man known as Lenny stood up, showing off his tall and fit figure without even trying. "Five hours ago, the city was attacked in three distinct locations; the headquarters, the Star family's private residence, and lastly, the Venus auction house. It is worth noting that this is the assailant's second time attacking the auction house.

The first time happened last week where they attacked the auction house, before making their way onto an ongoing auction before defusing a gas bomb dubbed, mania gas... or mania for short.

The effects of the gas are as follows, as soon as it is released, chaotic and evil murmurs spread through the area. This murmurs seem to have a stunning effect which allow the gas to take advantage and seep into you. Once that happens, the sclera of eyes turn pitch black while the iris' turn into a deep, starry purple.

Once that happens, the infected individual loses all sense of reason and relentlessly attacks any living thing that exists in its vicinity, with no distinction between friend and or foe. An individual infected with mania is officially known as crazed... The crazed seem to have only a single goal, and that is to cause as much destruction as possible.

By our multiple testing's, there are only two way to control such a threat. Either we subdue them or kill them, there is no middle ground. As for a cure, countless of our best scientists are working on it, as we speak.

Concerning the casualties and the perimeter lock, we haven't disclosed to the public what has happened in the thoughts of controlling panic... but that in itself is causing unrest. People haven't been able to contact their loved ones, etc. Its a matter of time before there is a leak, and the people figure out what happened.

One good piece of information though, is that the duplex city lord has told us to observe was actually connected to a sewage system. And lo and behold, one of the soldiers we stationed there came across three men in dark attire. They have been detained and questioned. Scared out of their minds, they spilled the beans pertaining to their group. I've sent you all the file containing said information. All in all, its bad..."

Having finished his report, the man known as Lenny took his seat. The occupants on the table had longs since started hushed discussions between each other, trying to figure out ways on how to fix this mess of a situation, but nothing was coming to mind. "For God's sake!! We know where the evil bastards are, don't we?! Why not just attack them head on. Quick and heavy, they won't know what hit them. They also wouldn't have much time to escape their little hideout..."

Voices were raised, some in agreement others in disagreement. Annoyed by the constant chamfering, the city lord coldly waited for them to stop before he could speak. Sensing the piercing gaze and the cold ambiance that spread from the city lord, the people slowly silenced themselves... it wasn't everyday the city lord would be angered to this extent... Clearing his throat, the he said, "We first have to confirm validity of what those detainees have stated."

Taking a deep breath to calm his nerves he continued, "The next course of action will be the attack that is to be orchestrated. We need to find better ways of subduing the crazed that are to appear when we attack..." As soon as he paused, a young and slightly arrogant voice was heard,

"You don't have to worry about the use of mania gases, they were all stolen away by some mysteriously force. The other thing is, although I don't know if it's what you call a cure, I have knowledge of an array formation capable of extracting the mania out of a crazed person's body without killing them..."

Turning towards the voice, the elder members of this meeting were taken aback. 'Its that kid we were waiting for... how does he know about the array and the fact that they are no more mania gases?...'

How could someone so young know such sensitive information??? Could he be working as a spy for the enemy?

That was the though that went through the majority of their heads. And if you think about it, it was quite reasonable too. A sixteen year old child they've never seen before claiming to have found the cure for the mania gas. Not only that though, he also says that the mania found in the secret hideout was actually stolen by a mysterious force??? What mysterious force??

That type of information seems a little bit too specific to know on a whim. It was also not some random piece of information one could get anywhere, you had to be there yourself to find this out. So this begs the question, how could he have known when the hideout has been under constant surveillance?

The city lord sensing their suspicions was forced to explained, "That's Bao Obi, he's a personal disciple of the Nine Dragon Sect leader Lei. He is a psychic blessed with clairvoyance and a capable array master... although, I haven't confirmed the latter one for myself ..."

Hearing his explanation, their suspicions eased, but it was strange, why was he here? Not in the City lord's mansion, but here in the meeting room? No really, what was he doing there?! One of the men, looked at the main character oddly before eyeing the city lord, conveying his wonders to the city lord. Understanding where he was coming from, the city lord said, "I enlisted his and his companion's help considering we were going up against an unknown foe, its better to be well prepared than not..."

Aaa, so that's why. Many agreed with his decision. Some even started flattering the main character considering he had such a powerful backing...

[Reader]: Are we just gonna pretend that the main character was a clairvoyant person all along??? Where did this power come from??

[BOB.C]: Hey, did you forget already? I, like yourself and [Author] am aware of this story. Do you think I stop hearing the narrator's voice just because the scene and location in the story change??? Nah, I'm the main character you hear me. Beyond that, I am the Primal God!!! I hear all, I know all!!!

[Reader]: So you're telling me that, like me and [Author] you are able to read the story??

[BOB.C]: I don't read the story, I hear it being narrated by [Author] as he's writing it...

[Reader]: Hence the clairvoyance...

[BOB.C]: Bingo!

[Reader]; Well, well... Isn't that cool.
