Chapter 92 - Abstain

Demons. The inhabitants of the underworld. They were creatures that did not have a conscious nor a soul, making them the perfect harbinger of Chaos and destruction. As a result of lacking both, the soul and the spirit, they possessed immense physical abilities; capable of toppling mountains with a single swing of their arms. But of course, there always had to be exceptions, as some Demons even had the ability to spew hellfire from their mouths. Some could fly at super sonic speeds and some even had magical powers. All in all, they were a dangerous race who should be feared...

Yuno and Han Sen looked apprehensive while digesting the info dump the [Author] had conducted. It was apparent that they were sufficiently apprehensive of them.

[Reader]: Hey, are Demons going to be the main antagonists of this story?

[Author]: Somewhere down the line probably but not for this arc, not any subsequent arc now that I think about it...

[Reader]: Ah, I see, I see... If not them, then who is this arc's antagonist???

[Author]: Do you seriously think I'd tell you? Like take a minute to seriously think about it, do you think I'd tell you like I haven't been building up to it???

[Reader]: I only wanted to test out my luck, you don't have to cry about it....

[Author]: Oh, fuck off...

"They now inhabit the Underworld, after a thorough cleansing it of all other race. They are an intimidating bunch but thankfully the laws of resistance are prominent in this particular case as it had made them unable to form any kind of reason in their heads. Even the shallower, more rudimentary reason seem to be a pipe dream for those of the demon race... A.K.A, their fucking retarded. What a relief, am I right..." The two nodded in response, clearly thanking God for the fact the Demons didn't have any higher brain functions.

"Unfortunately, humans are really selfish. By now there are probably one, two, tens or even hundredth, who had corrupted their humanity by combining their physiques with that of a summoned Demon's in order to further themselves in the journey of cultivation. These people end up becoming walking calamities, as they had no humanity left with in them. Only the thought of getting stronger remains. What's worse is that they still retain their reason so now not only are they strong but they can also reason which is quite scary..."

Ah humans, what selfish creatures. Going to such lengths to obtain power... such a tragic thing. It was often those who lacked the talent to progress further that turn to such means. Oh how cruel to be talentless in a world like this, one where talent determines your entire life.

Of course, it didn't have to be solely cultivation oriented talent. If one were to simply excel in one particular area, then the universe itself would push them to greater heights. For example, let on be extremely talented in the ways of playing the zither, their unique approach and understanding leads to them creating or stumbling upon a Dao of their own!

So now, not only are they mesmerizingly better at playing, they have also created a path of advancement in the journey of cultivation. That was one of the upsides of cultivation, one can reach it's end by utilizing a multitude of different ways. Anyways, enough being side-tracked, let's get back to the subject at hand.

And so I tell you, attaining immortality or absolute power should not be your end goal for cultivation. Instead, make it so that becoming a divinity is your end goal. That way, not only will you be more powerful than all the other immortals, but you will also stand proudly among the divinities of this universe.

. . .

The lecture continued with the main character touching upon different topics. Some were concerned with how to improve the circulation of qi and the enhancements of the body, while others touched upon subjects like the interaction of qi with the environment.

By the end of it, Han Sen felt a lot more fulfilled as he quickly left for his room as he couldn't wait to implement his new found knowledge. Yuno on the other hand was very intrigued as she had tried circulating her qi in the way the main character had stated, its effects becoming blatantly clear once her qi circulated four times it's normal speed.

'Where did he learn that from?', she asked herself, confused as to how the main character learned such a high level technique. Of course, there was also another option where he didn't learn it from anywhere but knew about it innately as he was the Primal God... 'Nah...' she thought, letting out a laugh at such a silly thought.

[Reader]: But wait, how does she still not think [BOB.C] is the Primal God?? Hasn't she been paying attention to the story?

[Author]: I mean if you think about it she hasn't seen the main character do anything expected from a cultivator. He only uses treasures to fight so it was only natural for her to think that he had no strength of his own...

[Reader]: But what about the Atlas? Hasn't she seen it being used before?

[Author]: Nope. She was always somewhere else when the Atlas was being used...

[Reader]: Care to give an example?

[Author]: Well... when the main character fought against Sect Master Lei, he had specifically relocated Yuno on the floating island that was farthest away from the fight... But now that I think about it, she had experienced the main character use a teleportation technique, yet still held to her beliefs. It must be that she's in denial...

[Reader]: That or lazy writing...

[Author]: Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah, lazy editing at most...

*[Background] felt wrongfully accused but decided to abstain from the chitchat as it would lead to more work down the line... he also privately stated that there was also the matter of the main character using arrays, but again, he would rather abstain as to Jo give himself more work...*
