Although the wise old tree felt that the voice was threatening, what had caught him off guard was the fact that the presence the main character gave off was quite simple and unappealing, almost even ordinary, with that said though, why did he feel as though he was face to face with a calamity?
His senses screaming at him to escape, the wise old tree felt very conflicted. The main character on the other hand could be seen losing his patience and growing bored of the silence with each passing second, causing him to further advice the wise tree by saying,
"I know that you were brought here by the God System, I know that it was the one that entrusted this realm to you, but the thing is, the realm was not his to give. So out of understanding I shall give you a chance to surrender management. If you decide to reject the olive branch I so kindly offered, then I shall slay you here and now.
I know me saying that might seem silly given the power level you sense... but do not get it wrong, I am perfectly able to slay any and all that stand in my path. Consider all that I've said, I will give you a minute to reconsider."
The wise old tree was taken aback as it didn't detect a single lie among all the things the main character had said.
'How does he know about the God System? Only the highest order of the divinities know of his existence, so how is it possible for a puny little ant like him to know?! Could he really be hiding his might? Could he really possess such strength... or is he just that good at bluffing?'
Taking his time to think things over, the tree's eyes wandered around before landing over the woman next to the young man. Due to her carrying around an umbrella, he wasn't able to see through her identity. He had even tried using his heightened sight to look past the umbrella but was shocked to find out he couldn't.
'Who is this woman?' He thought, as he spread out his senses, confirming that the main character a mere mortal who didn't possess a single ounce of qi, whilst the woman beside him was basically a living, breathing, Demi-god. Under his watchful eyes, a torrential uprising of purple qi, could be seen. One that emanated with Disorder and Chaos.
'Although the boy might be bluffing, that woman beside him is else entirety. Although she is a mere fragment of a whole, she's reached a height that most could only dream of. And given her chaotic aura, she must me one belonging to the Order of Chaos. Granted she won't be able to defeat me in a one on one bout, she is sure to put up strong resistance.
What I don't understand though is why she's subservient to that young man? Is he really as weak as I've observed him to be? Or is his might so great that even I, The Great Oldrik, can't sense it?
I need to think about this strategically... I'll be enough to handle the Demi-god but that boy gives me an unsettling feeling, as if his a legendry sword that is rests dormant in his sheath. I can simply relinquish my position to this boy in the off chances that he turns out to be an all powerful divinity... or I can attack right now, placing my life at risk ?'
Thinking up to there, he decided to ask the girl for her name and affiliation. Raven, who was reluctant to answer, under the watchful eyes of the main character, had no choice but to answer.
"I am Raven, a General belonging to the Order of Chaos!"
His face didn't express any emotion, but Oldrik was shocked to find out that the identity of the girl in front of him was an actual General from the Order of Chaos!
'Raven, the first General of the Chaos Order, she is also the most loyal to her highness, Chaos! Regardless of whether I can win against her or not, she isn't someone I can go against! Besides, her act of servitude must mean that the boy beside her is the lord of all disorder, Chaos!'
With that finally nail in the coffin, Oldrik finally reached a decision. Closing back his eyes, the entire tree shook, shrinking as his branches retreated back into him. Thin leaves made from a stone-like material could be seen falling to the ground, its weight unaffected by its appearance.
Once Oldrik shrunk down into a human form, the maim character observed a body that looked to have been sculpted by the most famous artesian. The statue wore a robe that covered his lower body and draped over one of his shoulders, his hair and beard curly and reminiscent of those famous, olden philosophers back in the mortal Era.
Bare footed, the statue walked towards the main character before holding out his hands in front of his chest. As Raven wondered what was happening, a small portion of Oldrik's chest warped into whirling pool of sand before a black, gourd shaped crystal was drawn out into his outstretched hands. The gourd shaped crystal had a rough and crooked outer layer and held a pale white glow at its centre; it's color tainted by the crystal changing it into dark blue glow.
Looking at the realm core in his hands, Oldrik was a bit unwilling to give it up, but despite that he chose to pass it on to the main character who was more than happy to accept it. Receiving the crystal, he expressed a sly smile before saying,
"You made the right choice..."
Not willing to stay and chitchat, Oldrik simply walked away; distancing himself from the two before creating a portal and disappearing into it.
'What a sensible man...', the main character thought, as having the ability to differentiate between who he could and couldn't mess with was considered a talent in his books. Turning his attention back to Raven, he let out an even deeper smile as he was now, unexpectedly, on the precipice of creating a powerful backers.
Having sensed the main character's gaze, Raven felt chills run down her spine, prompting her to ask, "So what now?"
Eying the crystal in his hands, the main character stayed silent for a few seconds before replying in a cool an mysterious tone, "Now, I offer you an opportunity of a life time... How would you like to be the god of this realm?!"
Obviously taken aback, Raven's face expressed shock, "What are you talking about?! One can't simply be the god of a realm! There are rules! Requirements! Restriction! One can't simply own it just because they want to! No matter how great ones power may be there are things that can't be resolved by brute force!"
Hearing her words, the main character smirked, 'To think, she didn't reject the offer, instead she listed out all the reasons why it wouldn't work... Could she be one of those people with delusions of grandeur but no means of achieving them? How interesting...'
With a confident smile back on his face, he said, "What if I had a way? What then? Would you rather reach out and grasp the opportunity or would you rather spend the rest of your life wishing you had?"
Raven very much conflicted as to what to do. Should she place her trust in the main character and accept the opportunity? Or should she instead go back and report her findings to her Master? On second thought though, there wasn't any way she could possibly escape having had that array grafted onto her back.
'Wait, wait, I've been thinking of this all wrong! If I grasp onto this opportunity and achieve a grater power level than what I have right now, then wouldn't that ultimately benefit my Master? Wouldn't that make me a for more useful pawn on his chessboard?? Although I don't trust him, I need to do this! I need to do this for my Master!!'
Making up her mind, she coldly asked,
"How can I get this opportunity?"
Hearing that, the main character was delighted as he thought, 'Ah, how wonderful. My deeds today shall echo with consequences tomorrow... That should have me engaged for a few more chapters... How lovely.'
. . .
The words the main character had just said seemed to almost be clairvoyant as in a different realm, a statuesque man with a skilfully carved hair and beard could be seen standing in front of an enormous and majestic gate.
The gate was made from a silver-blur material emanated with a grandiose aura.
Oldrik cleared his throat before announcing his arrival and a short while later, a deep and Godly voice sounded, "Enter!"
Causing the statuesque man to shudder as the gate opened, revealing the magnificence beyond its confines.
