Chapter 72 - Fuckery

'Its obvious I didn't use the wrong array formation, especially now that with the Atlas here I can remember a whole lot better... So why aren't I seeing any reaction? Could I have made a mistake when drawing the array? No, no, mistakes are for people, and I'm not people... So what co-' Before could finish, he was suddenly cut off by the sudden convulsing of the woman's body.

'Oh?'

The woman shook with ferocity, turning and twisting her body in a variety of ways. The longer that happened, the brighter the array shined, it was evident that whatever state the mania gas induced was far stronger than what seemed on the surface.

Looking on with interest, the main character thought, 'If not for me over hearing the city lord's conversation, I doubt I'd have such an opportunity... I wonder how long it will take me to solve this mystery? I really am a genius though, what a great way to pass the time...'

...

...

...

Even [Author] was surprised at what the main character said. Pass the time? PASS THE TIME??? Yes, yes, you read correctly, he was doing all this not because he wants to stop the evil powers that have come to terrorize Earthmire city, but because he thought it would be a good way to pass the time... What a fucking hero!

Besides he was doing a service to the city so it was a win-win situation.

Focusing back on the crazed woman, purple smoke had started rising from her body during the time the above paragraphs had been written. Interestingly enough, the more of that purple smoke left her body, the less intense her shaking became. The other thing was that the smoke didn't dissipate, instead it slowly conglomerated into the shape of a ball a meter above her trembling body.

The ball of smoke gave of a disturbing aura and carried along with it chaotic, mind-altering whispers, causing Han Sen to mildly feel uncomfortable.

'What is that purple smoke? Although I hadn't seen it at the sight of the attack, it does give off the same ominous presence...'

What troubled Han Sen the most was the fact that such unorthodox things came to be in such a place.

'Are the citizens unhappy? Are they under some sort of oppression, causing them to lash out in criminal ways???' Or could it be that it was orchestrated by some outside force lurking deep in the shadows???'

As he was coming up with theories, the woman's frantic moments came to a grinding halt as the last of the purple smoke exited her body.

"Move her to the bed."

The main character ordered as he looked at his disciple. Once that was done, the he was ready to proceed with the next stages of testing. Drawing another array diagram, this one on mid-air(which is ridiculously more harder), he guided the array to wrap over the ball of gas, containing it within a thin layer of celestial energy.

Then, a short while after, the array around the gas slowly started shrinking in size, forcing the gas to compress and take on a smaller and smaller volume. That feat was so difficult, the purple gas even resisted, pushing back to the best of its abilities, prompting the main character to supply the array with a fraction of his godly essence.

The instant the array came into contact with his essence, it shown with a golden brilliance and with a deafening boom, shrunk down to the size of a ping-pong ball.

The boom had caught the main character off guard causing him to step back in fright.

'Thankfully, I had already created the silencing curtain beforehand, or else that sound would have caused quite a commotion...'

Letting out a satisfied smile do to his cautious actions, the main character held the array construct in his hand before observing its insides with narrowed focus. His smile widened as he observed what seemed like a few drops of purple liquid.

'I wasn't sure it would work... But that would, in turn, mean that I could use it as a gate way to the After Realm... Yes, everything is coming along just fine!'

Turning towards his disciple, he said, "Now is where things get serious! Do not let anyone enter the room. Do not interfere under any circumstance. And lastly, mind the voices..."

Even though that last part was a bit iffy, Han Sen heeded his Master's words.

Walking over towards the bed, the array construct followed closely. The main character lied on his back before taking a deep breath before parting open him mouth, prompting the array construct to drop precisely a single drop of that purple liquid into his mouth.

As soon as the drop entered his mouth, the main character quickly swallowed it before hastily chanting a series of incomprehensible chants.

A few seconds went by before the purple liquid took effect. His natural black eyes slowly shown with a menacing purple, causing Han Sen to be slightly concerned but he quickly put it to rest as his Master was an unfathomable being of untold might.

'He'll be alright, besides, he did say not to interfere...'

Reassuring himself, Han Sen continued to observe the spectacle.

The main character slowly closed his eyes, which had little effect on hiding the ominous purple that spread from within.

Nothing seemed to happen as he looked as though he was sleeping, but just as Han Sen was about to busy himself with meditation, the main character broke out into uncontrollable spasms! Looking on with apprehension, Han Sen repeatedly muttered to himself, 'Do not interfere. Do not interfere...'

. . .

When the main character open his eyes, they had returned into their original black color. Looking around though, he wasn't inside his room back at the Price family's mansion, no, he was now outside in the wilderness.

It was obvious that he wasn't in the same area as Earthmire city, when considering that the blue sky he was familiar with was now a symphony of all the beautiful colors. Ranging from purple to pink to red to orange to yellow... its created this dreamy state that make it a truly breathtaking sight.

The air was filly with a strange yet comforting ambiance and was decorated with dots of ghastly blue light, which coupled with the sandy ground below, gave the place a strange charm.

In contradiction to the environment though, the main character had a confused and sour expression on his face, thinking, 'What is this place?!! This isn't what the After Realm is supposed to look like!!'

He didn't remember the After Realm as some fairytale-like place! He remembered it as a cold and empty world! Empty of color, empty of foundation, and empty of presence!

The After Realm was supposed to be the final resting place for those who hadn't earned their ticket to enter the cycle of death and rebirth, not some happyland where one felt all calm and comfy!

'Someone must have taken control of the realm in my absence... And I'm pretty sure I know who it is...'

That bastard God System seems to have done a whole lot of fuckery to a in his absence.

'As long as I take over the central form, I can surly reverse this nonsense... Wait, no! That's no what I'm here! I'm here to speak with that bastard...'

But just as he thought that he suddenly heard a mocking voice coming from behind him,

"Oh, how the great Primal God has fallen..."
