Chapter 20 - 19

Neit glanced through the grey colored file and smiled warmly at the sight of her 5 year old daughter. How pretty is she. All grown up and smiling at the camera. Her hair and her eyes were just like Tracy. She looked smart and adorable.

"She's wearing glasses now huh?" Neit chuckled and looked at Jedi who was sipping on her second glass of champagne while smiling at the picture of her best friend's daughter. Yes. It's her best friend's daughter and no one is argue about that.

"Today was her fifth grade ballet performance." Jedi replied. " she was amazing." She took a sip.

Neit looked up from here file and her smile faded.

"Was She There?"

Jedi knew whom she was talking about. She slowly nodded making Neit look down and sign.

"How is she?"

"The same." Jedi answered. "Guess she's doing good." She walked over and sat next to Neit who was fuming in anger and grief.

"Was He There?" She growled.

"Right next to her." Jedi purses her lips and looked at Neit who had her fists balled and was literally burning up in anger. But then suddenly she sighed and her breath shook. Her eyes started to water and her chin wobbled. Jedi could clearly tell that Neit was trying her best to stop herself from breaking down.

"There there." She turned towards Neit who automatically kept her head against the other's shoulder. Jedi Hugged her tightly muttering soothing words over her ears.

"Stay strong for Anela. The little angel deserves happiness and one day-....." Jedi stopped to wipe her face.

" she will call you daddy." She smiled warmly at Neit who nodded slowly.

Walking along the city lane in the midst of the tall skyscrapers , I wondered why I am here and how I am standing here. I gaze at the zebra crossing which clearly brings out memories in my head. Memories so sweet.Memories so ..... so beautiful.

Bustling motor cars , racing bikes , busy feet trampling the hardened tar , I wonder whether I'll meet her again. The rays of the scorching sun mixed with the pollution , they remind me of who I am.

I see a little girl hopping along with her mother. Teddy bear clutched tightly and the dress so pretty. Her eyes they shine behind those twinkling glasses. Wait..... glasses?

Ahhhhhh ...Yes. Now I remember. She too wore glasses. Beautiful round ones. Sweet silver rimmed ones. With a blinding smile she used to smile at me.

Sign

But I still can't love her. It's impossible.

I'm sorry. I'm really ...... sorry. I can't love you.

And I won't love anybody else.

I don't t know why .........

But I ........ I ........

I ..... I only want you.

Neit signed and walked along the busy lane. She smiled at the thought of the little girl whom she just walked pass right now. What wonders would it take for her to meet Anela. How blessed would it be to meet her little girl. Hug her. Make her smile.

What miracle could it take for her to see Tracy again?

" oof!-..."

A sudden bump on her leg made her snap from her trance. She looked down at the little figure who was pouting and rubbing her adorable face. Neit smiled. But it turned into an expression of utter shock.

That's when the little figure raised her head and looked at her.

" I- I..." she mumbled and stared up at Neit who was frozen on the spot.

"Anela! Anela sweety where are you?!" The little girl turned her head towards the direction where the voice came from and her lips curled into a cheerful smile.

That voice. It was familiar. Too familiar.

"Mommy!!!" The little girl ran towards her mom.

Neit blinked hard and turned towards their direction and gasped.

It was her.

It was Tracy.

That was her daughter.

She blinked harder and stumbled a little bit. She looked away and gulped. Was she hallucinating? Was she having a headache from all the hard work ? Was her life that busy for her to the point of making her see things?

She gulped hard and looked back. They were still there. She looked at Tracy who was smiling at her daughter.

And then......

Their eyes met.
