-Crystalia City, Great Sea Temple-
In one of the rooms there is a woman sleeping on a big bed with sparkling, blue bedsheets. The woman herself has azure hair with some of its edges having a silvery white color and is wearing a cyan nightgown while her tail has a pure blue color. Suddently, her green eyes were wide open, as if she felt that something happened.
"I-Impossible! No w-way!"
The woman got up all of a sudden and started to put on some sort of dress that looks similar to a priest's clothes. After hastily fixing her bed hair, she swam out of her room and started heading towards a certain direction. On the way, she met with a young boy whose hair and tail were red while he had brown eyes. The young boy spoke first.
"Good evening Arch-Priestess Laventhign. How may i heeeee-"
The woman suddently grabbed the young man's hand and she said hastily:
"Quickly prepare a clairvoyance ceremony, I don't care if it is simple. Just prepare the necessary stuff for it."
"Miss, may you-" At that moment she looked at the young man with a menacing look as if she was ready to rip his head off.
"Al-alright miss!" The young man started swimming hastily towards a storage room and picked up a white vial, a ceremonial dagger with an azure handle and a green gem on the middle of it and a worn-out book. After getting back to Arch-Priestess, almost out of breath, he said:
"Alright, *breathes in* I brought... *breathes out* the essentials..."
After the woman took the items, she took a bowl that was laying nearby, she open the white vial and a white liquid came out of it, until it filled the entire bowl. In the next moment, she took out the ceremonial dagger and cut her finger and dipped it into the bowl with the white liquid for a bit until the color of the liquid started to change. After a bit of time later, the liquid started to change and looked like an overhead shot of Soren and Lavenza having a conversation. At that moment, the woman started to tear a bit.
-Border East Garrison Fort-
Soren and Lavenza were eating a can of Fijouri fruit each, since Lavenza just broke out of her shell and felt quite hungry and Soren expended quite a bit of energy enduring the monstrous pain. For a bit, Soren thought that Lavenza couldn't eat solid food, but after seeing her pair of small teeth in her mouth, he felt assured that he didn't have to look for any formula or any soft food. While they were eating, Soren initated a conversation.
"You know, this fort doesn't have anything in it. Aside from those 4 cans and these pieces of broken equipment, I can't find anything else of worth. It's probably better if we leave this fort, since one, we don't have anymore food and two, we have to settle somewhere and i don't know about you, but I am not a big fan of camping. I may love beach trips and beachside campfires to the point of making tattoos about them, but not even i can handle staying in the wild constantly, having to keep my eyes on the lookout for anything feral."
"Kyuu~?" "Kiki~ Kiki~" Lavenza had a happy expression on her face.
"Come on Lavenza, don't mock me for not liking to live out in the wild. I want to have the roof over my head and the soft bed under me while i sleep. After all I'm a city boy." Said Soren, while looking a bit embarassed.
"Kyuu~ Kyuu~"
"Fine, fine, you win. We are going camp out if we don't find a city to stay for the night." Soren said in a dejected manner.
After the two of them finished the cans, they threw them into a trash can, in the fort and prepared to leave.
"We have a location we can go and visit, but without a compass, this is going to be difficult." Soren thought for bit, then his eyes lit up with an idea.
"Lavenza, look for a rock with moss one side, not under it. Got it?"
"Kyuu~?" Lavenza looked pretty confused.
"Don't worry. I have a plan." Soren said with a confident look.
After that little conversation, both of them started searching for a rock with moss on one side for a little while until Lavenza found one near the some coral trees just a bit further behind the fort.
"Kyuu~! Kyuu~!"
"Alright, I'm coming to you right now, stay there." Soren said with a loud voice from an area nearby.
While Lavenza was waiting for Soren to come, a weird creature was swimming nearby. It looked like it had thick gray fur, round gray fins, claws, sharp ears and bright red eyes. They way the monster looked was like a mix of a wolf and a fish. The weird fish-wolf noticed Lavenza swimming near that rock and being the hungry beast that it is, it tries to catch Lavenza off-guard by pulling off a sneak-attack with its claw.
Lavenza herself, was waiting for Soren but while she was waiting for him to come, she felt that something moved nearby and she could feel that whatever that thing was, it was not him. She felt afraid. She didn't want to leave the area, but she also didn't want the weird thing to come.
At that moment, she saw a shadow from behind and the moment she turned around, saw a gray claw coming towards her. For a moment, all her thoughts were blank, she couldn't think anything, she felt like the end was nigh, but in that moment, her body started swaying as much as it could, so she could dodge the attack. In the next moment, she barely managed to get away with only a small scratch on her side. The wolf-fish creature was suprised that its attack failed, so it tried another claw swipe but Lavenza managed to dodge the attack much more easily. Lavenza felt very scared, so she was trying to escape it, but she felt like she couldn't escape the beast so she chose to fight it, at least until Soren could come. She started preparing herself to deal with the monster's attacks. After another claw swipe, instead of running away, she decided to bite that claw with as much force as she could. The bite itself actually tore a chunk of its flesh from the claw and the monster gave a loud screech before looking at Lavenza with an angry look on its face.
This time, it tried lunging at her with its sharp fangs but she dodged the attack at the last moment, since she was suprised by this attack. But the moment the monster tried a second lunge attack, Lavenza had already put herself in front of a coral tree, so the moment she dodged, the monster actually rammed its head on the coral tree, causing it some head trauma. While the monster was stunned, Lavenza tried to focus as much as she could and very soon a water ball appeared in front of her and threw it at the monster immidiately, causing it some more damage. The water ball itself felt to the monster like a heavy blow from a blunt force, capable of breaking its bones.
Feeling enraged by the fact that this tiny creature was giving it so much trouble, it started getting desperate, throwing more lunges and claw attacks, but all of the were met with similar counters. The monster only knew claw attacks and lunges and after a couple more exchanges, it felt like it would lose consciousness from any more attacks. Lavenza herself was also feeling extremely tired from constant attacks, so she decided to finish the monster in the next exchange. The monster threw one final big lunge but this time, it actually impaled itself on one of the branches of the coral trees, while Lavenza threw one more water ball on its head, immidiately followed by a biting attck on its side. At that moment the wolf moved its last and Lavenza fell onto the ground tired and drained of all her energy.
"Kyee~!"
At that moment, Soren reached the battle area. Seeing it full claw marks and broken twigs, he felt that something might have happened to Lavenza, so he sped up his pace. After a little while, he found Lavenza on the ground, fearing for the worst, when she suddently got up. The moment he saw her, getting up and swimming as if nothing happened, he started swimming towards her and hugged her immidiately.
"Thank god you are alright Lavenza. When i saw the claw marks, I feared for the worst. Thank god." Said, Soren with a lot of concern in his eyes and his voice.
In that hug, Lavenza herself immidiately burst into tears, since she litterally came very close to death, she felt very afraid, she didn't want to leave the hug.
"Kyiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii~"
"Don't worry now, I'm here. Shhhhh."
After comforting the crying Lavenza, Soren decided to check the corpse of the monster that nearly killed her.
[Sea Wolf Corpse: The corpse of a Sea Wolf that recently died. Most of the time, these vile beats travel in packs, but occasionally, one can be found by itself, either by being an outcast or having too much pride and deciding to live alone.]
After Soren read the description of the corpse, he thanked his lucky stars that this sea wolf was alone, otherwise she would have died before even making an attack.
"You know what? From here on out we are never separating ever again." Said Soren with a stern look.
"Kyuu~." Lavenza nodded in agreement.
"Now let's go towards that mossy rock."
"Kyuu~! Kyuu~!"
After reaching the mossy rock, Soren examines it.
[A mossy rock. Not much to say, aside from the fact that the moss growing on the west side of the moss.]
Once Soren read the description, his eyes lit up and with a happy expression on his fce, he said:
"Lavenza, I guess we have finally found our compass."
