After Soren and Lavenza left room 215, they came back to the hallway where that short guy was, but there was nothing in the hallway.
"I would be suprised if he was still here somehow." Soren said before sighing.
"Kyuu~?"
"Well he definitely was a jerk. He couldn't even accept a sorry, even with that accidental slip up, at least he should have tried and bear it for a bit, before losing his cool, but instead that went completely ballistic and he managed to push all my buttons, to the point of losing all reason, before i started smacking around the hall. You know what? Let's just go back atvthe lounge and forget about this headache-inducing problem."
"Kyuu~."
After both of started swimming towards the lounge, they made their way towards the big entrance room on the first floor, where Elrena was waiting behind the counter, while writing something on a sheet of paper. While she was writing, Soren decided to ask her about the lounge.
"Ummm... Miss, may I ask the location of the lounge?"
"You are standing in it? Can't you see that sign over there?" Elrena then pointed on a wall with sign that said "Lounge" in a completely different language, but somehow Soren still felt like he could read and understand it.
'Thank the "Universal Translation" skill.' Was Soren's thought after that
"Thank you for the information and I'm sorry about that whole mess from before. I lost my cool at the time, which led me to throwing those insults. Honestly, if it hadn't been for you miss, I might have already dunked him out of the window."
"It's alright. Apology accepted, kid." The woman answered back.
"Glad to hear it. But still, that guy was no adult. He was litterally a man-child. I mean, what kind of adult would lose their cool after an accidental insult?"
"Only, if you manage to get them on a bad day." The woman said jokingly.
"I see, then I guess I'll wait for my ID to be made." Soren said before deciding to sit on one of the empty chairs in the room.
While Soren was sitting on a chair with Lavenza laying on his shoulder, Elrena continued her work normally, until she saw the man with black hair coming out of left door with a card on his hand.
"Kid, you temporary ID is ready. You should know, this is always issued upon completing a truth stone check, so all your actual personal information will be displayed here. Also this ID will last for only a week, at most, so it's more optimal to issue yourself a permanent ID, either through the goverment office or through one of the major guilds, such as the Business' Guild, the Crafter's Guild or the Adventurer's Guild." Elrena explained before giving Soren his ID.
The ID itself was just a light purple card that had Soren's name, race, gender, age and blood type:
[Name: Soren
Race: Merman (Leviathan)
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Blood Type: B+]
The moment Soren saw this ID, his blood started to run a bit cold, since some of his information was the same as his previous life's info, such as his age and blood type. He realised that the truth stone check showed way more than he wanted to, but he couldn't do much about it, since he had already done it. At least those bits of info wouldn't cause him much trouble, but his race was a completely different story. The fact that he was a leviathan, or at least the fact that he had leviathan blood, would cause him a lot of unnecessary trouble in the long run, so he had to get his new ID and had to get rid of, at least the leviathan part as soon as possible.
Just before leaving the building, Soren said:
"Thank you very much but, may I ask you one final thing?"
"Sure, go ahead." Elrena said.
"Ummm... Where is the adventurer's guild?" Soren asked with an embarassed face.
"Once you go out of the building, go out into the main road and swim down for around 5 intersections, on the 6th, take a right turn and keep swimming until you see a building with a sign of two cross-swords. That's where the adventurer's guild is located." She explained.
"Thank you for the information miss. Farewell."
After that, Soren and Lavenza left the building and started swimming towards the adventurer's guild. The big street itself had all kinds of shops and people. Some of the people as well looked more like humans with fish characteristics, such as gills and having colored skin, instead of the usual half-human half-fish merman race that Soren had seen up until now. The shops themselves, either had glass displays with all kinds of products that ranged from weapons to exotic fruits and vegetables or they were just small food stalls that sold snacks such as kebabs, pretzels or seared corn on a cob. Soren felt quite hungry when he saw those stalls, but then he remembered that he didn't have a single coin on him to pay.
"Man, I wish I had carried one of those Sea Wolf corpses with me so i could sell it and buy some food with it." Soren said feeling regretful. He could only grin and bear it for the day, until he got his ID from the Adventurer's guild and started doing some jobs or just sold the carcasses for a quick coin.
After a little while, Soren and Lavenza reached the Adventurer's guild. The guild itself did have the cross-swords sign on the top part of the main entrance. The building itself seemed to be a four-story building with a big door on the first floor. After entering through the big, wooden doors, the sight Soren and Lavenza greeted them, was the first floor full with all kinds of mermen and humanoid fishmen.
Some of them were were shorter and held short swords or daggers on their waists and leather clothes on them, some others who had a much bigger build, were carrying big blunt weapons on their backs, such as bats, hammers or mallets and some were even holding big shields, while they were wearing a lot of metal armor. The others who had a build somewhere in between, were holding either swords and shields, staffs, bows and quivers with arrows, as well as other smaller weapons.
Most of them didn't pay attention to the duo, but the ones who did were whispering about the fact that the kid entered the monster's den without knowing it or were debating the amount of time it would take for the kid to leave crying back to his mother. Some of them were even saying that it would take exactly 11 minutes before the kid leaves with his tail behind his back. As for Lavenza, they didn't care since it was probably some common pet that he bought at the market.
Soren and Lavenza could easily feel that this kind of enviroment wasn't for the faint of heart and the insults that some of the guys were saying between them, would definitely make someone lose their cool. Of course, for Soren and Lavenza, this kind of thing was nothing since both of them had been through a few battles so, of course they wouldn't be intimidated by such a thing. As for the insults, they just ignored them, since there wasn't much point in hearing a dog's empty barking.
After both of them made it to the counter, where a man with brown hair and eyes that was wearing glasses, was standing there. The man himself also had a brown tail and was wearing a uniform, similar to a police uniform but with a brown color and without a hat.
"Good evening young man, how may I help you?" The man asked with an expressionless look on his face.
Soren felt a bit intimidated by the man, but he steeled himself and said:
"Hello sir, I would like to register myself to adventurer's guild."
The man wasn't the slightest bit suprised, since he was used to seeing young men, trying to be brave and fighting beasts, only to give up after a couple of days after seeing a small amount of danger. So he said:
"Alright, then we will have to test you if you have the skills for it. Follow me to the training area." The man then, left the counter and started swimming towards a door to the right of the building and the duo followed immidiately after.
After they swam for a little while, the 3 of them made it to an outdoors training area. The area itself had racks with coral weapons and leather protection gear, as well as a few training dummies and targets.
"Alright, wait here for a couple of minutes so i can bring an instructor." The man said before leaving and coming back a couple of minutes later with another man. The other man had cyan, short hair, blue eyes and a cyan tail. He was wearing black leather armor on most of his body and he had a sheathed sword on his back. The man also looked a lot similar to Matt from before.
"Mr.Matt!? You are the instructor?" Soren said with a suprised look on his face.
The man himself was suprised by Soren's words and asked back.
"Wait you know my brother?" The man with the cyan hair said.
"Your brother? You mean mister Matt?"
"Yes, we are brothers actually. Technically I'm the older one by around a couple of minutes but we are actually twins." The man explained.
"I didn't know mister Matt had a twin. Honestly I'm just suprised." Soren said slightly suprised.
"When did you meet up with him?" The man asked curiously.
"Just today, a little bit outside the city's walls." Soren answered back.
"I see. Jay, is this the kid i have test out?" The man said.
"He is the new examinee right now. Just give him a quick crash course on the basics." The man with the brown hair, named Jay said.
"Guess I'll have to test your skills, young... Ehhh...?"
"It's Soren sir."
"Yeah, Soren. Anyways, grab yourself a training sword and lets get started. Just as Soren was about to grab a training sword, he asked:
" I almost forgot, what is your name sir?"
"It's Rohan." The man with the cyan hair said calmly.
After that, Soren grabbed a training sword and was starting to get ready, he asked one final thing:
"Just one last question before we start, can Lavenza join my team as well?"
"Lavenza? You mean your little sea serpent pet?" Rohan asked with a confused look on his face.
"Yeah, she is my partner after all." Soren said.
"She can join you on your side, but it will be a team fight and according to the rules, a beast pet of the similar level may be nee-" Jay was saying when Rohan suddenly cut him off and said:
"I don't think it's necessary Jay. Besides I can easily handle a two versus one without a problem."
"Alright, then this is an examination of Soren and, ahem, Lavenza, to see if they are worthy of the title of the adventurer. Without further ado. Begin!" Jay said before he rose his hand and lowered it down immidiately.
