Everybody seems to have settled into a nice routine, our days are filled with hunting, gathering and making sure the camp ran smoothly, in the evenings we would sit around the fire and tell stories, chat and just lark around, Wolf was the only one who didn't seem to be settling, he seemed to get more and more bitter as time went on and all his anger seemed directed at me, I tried talking to him several times but he glared at me or outright insulted me so i just stayed away from him, every evening he would stomp off and keep watch and in the days i would disappear hunting so i didn't have to interact with him much, i hoped that we could at least be friends but it didn't look as though that was an option so i guess id just have to avoid wolf as much as possible.
After iv had breakfast and left for my days hunt i always set off into the forest to set traps then head to the lake and have a morning swim then i spend most of the day fishing before checking the traps and heading back to camp, Im laying on my secret rock drying off from my morning swim when i feel like im being watched , i sit up slowly and glance around but don't see anybody , iv been getting this feeling for a couple of weeks now ,at first i thought it was Wolf because he's the only one who knows this place but then he doesn't know about this rock ,nobody knows about it that's why i like it so much ,its my own little hide out ,but lately it feels like someone else does know about it and they are spending there time watching me, ok iv given myself the creeps so i get dressed ,gather my stuff and turn to leave ,that's when i hear the stick break as though it had been stood on ,i freeze "whos there?" "im armed, so come out and i wont hurt you" nothing, i slowly go forwards to check the bushes but there's nobody there but im certain im being watched but i can't understand why they haven't shown themselves surly if it was someone from the compound they would have grabbed me?
That evening im sitting around the fire with the others, as usual, i haven't said anything about what happened as i don't want to worry them and let's face it, its easier to spook yourself when your alone but now im able to just laugh it off as my imagination, Wolf stumbles out of his tent glares at me then storms off into the woods "ooohhhh what ya done now Lissa darling ?" Danlow teases to which i just shrug "hey are you ok?" Lina asks while Angel gives me a sympathetic look from her position in Jimmy's arms "yeah" i say and smile at Angel " ahhhhh come on Lissa give up the gory details what did you do to old Wolfie boy?" Danlow holws with laughter "shut up Danlow" everyone turn to the voice,its Sam ,whos uasally so quiet and doesn't get involved but i guess Danlows voice is annoying him to but then he shocks everyone when he looks directly at Lina holds out his hand and says "come " we all turn our heads to see Linas reaction but she looks just as confused as everyone else she looks to Ellie then back to Sam" b b but Ellie" there's a snort so we all turn to Ellie who says while laughing "what ,me and Sam no Lina he's all yours im trying to get Simon but he's too stupid to pick up the signals" everyone's eyes open wider as we turn to Simon who says "you are?" thats when i cant take anymore and i start laughing everyone's eyes turn to me and before you know it everyone's laughing and we cant stop ,once we do eventually settle down Ellie is holding Simons hand and Lina is sitting in Sams lap snuggling into his chest ,looking around at everyone im sad all of a sudden ,of course im happy for them but i miss Blake so much ,i feel empty inside.
