Shira rolled around on the floor laughing as the poor students ran around screaming and throwing themselves on floor in confusion. This was an unexpected side the Shira, she was a cat-person kinda so it made sense that she would enjoy playing around like a cat would. Cats are mischievous creatures so maybe she was as well wondered Shawn as he glanced over at her on the floor.
"Try this one, if you want to see something even funnier" said Shawn as he handed Shira a smoke bomb. A little bit out of character for Shawn as well, he seemed to enjoy watching the students squirm in terror.
"Alright" shouted Shira in delight as he grabbed the cannister and threw it at the still confused students.
The can landed on the floor for a second before it started to spin wildly. The cannister began spraying gas all over the place. The gas a first began burning their eyes then it started burning their throat until they began to fall over gasping for air.
"Holy, shit. Look at them" laughed Shira as she jumped up and down.
"These things as surprisingly effective. What are they called" asked Shira as she looked at Shawn with a slight admiration in her eyes. She was impressed by the things Shawn had managed to create. It was magic that she had never seen before and she was enjoying it.
Nicholas however was not fond of watching his students suffer. After a few seconds of torture, he clapped his hands and dispersed the gas that was choking his students. As he looked at the pair and shook his head.
'Maybe this is a terrible combination after giving it a second thought' lamented the master as he thought about the troublesome duo that he was hoping to merge.
"This doesn't really mean anything. I am still going to rip your head off your body" said Shawn as he looked off into the distance.
"Ofcourse you are welcomed to try but your death will absolutely gruesome. When I am done your own elf family won't be able to recognize you" replied Shira as her claws started growing out of her fingers.
Shawn sensing the slight mana fluctuation channeled his own mana into his fist. In an instant they delivered an attack to one another sending the other flying in opposite directions.
Unsurprisingly Shira got up almost instantly and just went off back into the dojo to go do something. Shawn on the other hand stayed on the floor for a few minutes until he was finally able to get up. The fresh scar across his chest bled profusely splashing his black blood all over the floor before it began to heal.
'Shit, that really hurt' Shawn thought as he rubbed his chest.
"What are you going to do now" asked Nicholas as he looked at Shawn. The dark elf seemed to be like a magnet for attracting trouble, not exactly a person who should be walking around, especially with his temper being as unhinged as it is.
"I have no idea, there are so many things that I have left unfinished. I think I might needed to write a list" said Shawn as he walked into the dojo as well.
As Shawn walked out he was wracking his brain trying to get his to do list in order:
-First there was the treasure map thing. This was probably the highest priority, the system normally gave pretty good rewards and so far it hasn't let me down. This thing would probably give me a serious power boost.
-Then there was the whole dark elf business that I kinda wanted to figure out. It wasn't the highest priority but still l really wanted to figure out some answers. This would be somewhat time consuming because I have to do a lot of traveling and searching for people.
-There was the desert killing bounties that I had to finish doing since I had to leave abruptly.
-I also wanted to increase my ranking in the guild but this was actually not really that high up in terms priority. The guild right now seems kinda useless, it would grant me a lot of power but right now with all these questions and unknowns being in the public eye right now doesn't seem like the best of ideas.
- There was that assassin locked in the basement that I had to "talk" about her employer. Someone who wanted me dead for some reason which I didn't really appreciate.
-And there was also Shira who I had to enlighten about the differences between me and her ie: kill.
'Yup, it's decided. I'll start with the map thing, it has the most potential gain and I was genuinely intrigued by the prospect of a treasure map. I should leave the assassin and let her sit in the darkness for while' Shawn thought as he left the dojo.
The map was actually much more complicated that I had initially thought. The map had like checkpoints that I had to go to and complete some quest before I could continue. And each quest would allow me to progress further towards the final X where I assume I would get to use the key.
[Quest 1 : There is a brothel below the bar marked on the map : kill everyone hostile : no exp will be granted for kills]
A quest suddenly appeared before his eyes. It seemed like the map was actually integrated into the system. The map would just show him the location and the system would then tell him what to do.
Shawn walked around for about 10 minutes before he finally found the location that was marked on the map. It had led him to a hotel on the shadier side of town. The place looked somewhat clean compared to the other buildings around it.
The place was really empty, even upstairs there were maybe 6 people making love but as far as I can tell there are more people underground walking around. Dozens of people were clustered together in a tight space while the others were just walking around normally, while others didn't really move from their location. Maybe like they were on gaurd or something.
Something else is going on below the building. The brothel may just be a front for some other more illegal activity that was taking place below the building. Interesting, I wonder what it is thought Shawn as he entered the hotel.
My mana sense ability is really useful afterall. I just entered the building and I already knew where most of the people were and I had a rough estimate of their strength without even seeing them yet. A few of them were definitely hiding thier strength but most of the people here were more or less cannon fodder.
'Against regular humans they would definitely seem powerful but it the larger aspect of things especially compared to a being like me. These little insects are well, just insignificant. They are irrelevant, they should be glad that a great...' Shawn stopped his thought process and backed away from the door while cluching his head defensively.
"What the hell just happened. That guy just almost surfaced again, that version of me from when I lost to Shira the first time. What the hell why now".
It is that building it has to be. As soon as I entered the building that's when I think it started to surface, thought Shawn as he analyzed his previous actions. It was definitely the building he thought as he inched closer.
Just like I had predicted there was only one person on this floor. A very old looking man, the old man had for humans what could be called a sizable amount of mana. He was most likely some sort of guardian of the area that was below the hotel.
"I have something for your boss and I finally completed the mission he had tasked me with and I am here for payment" Shawn said in his most convincing voice.
"Password" said the old man with no change in his face whatsoever
"How about I pay you to let me through you people look like your loyalty only lie with money" asked Shawn as he pulled out a bag of coins.
"Password" the old man said again
"Filthy human, I will rip your arms off and beat you with them... Shit, you know what never mind" Shawn said as he pulled out a pulsating gun and just shot the man directly in the head.
The gun shot itself didn't make any noise but the more surprising thing was that the old after getting shot did not move whatsoever. The hole in his forhead actually began to close, almost like he never got shot.
"Excellent" Shawn said with a smile as a notification appeared in front of his eyes.

"Tell me everything that is going on below us" ordered Shawn as he took a seat.
...
"Someone just undid my spell" said a robed figure as he stood up from the throne he was sitting in. In a fit of rage the robed man threw his cup across the room at the head of one of his gaurds. The man was standing close by him didn't even flinch as the hot tea splashed all over him searing his face.
"Did that old man just die or was he killed. I don't think it was due to starvation, I think I told them to eat last week. Maybe we are under attack, but who would be idiotic enough to attack us" wondered the man as he began ordering his men to find out what was going on.
