When I looked beside me again, I was not expecting who I saw. He was no stranger this time. I did not notice him earlier, but then again, I was trying not to stare too much at the crowd.
"Fancy seeing you here, Scarlet." Blake greeted me, staring at my face then down to my hands.
"I didn't know you were here, Blake. Did not notice you earlier." I stated as I looked away from him and continued to stare at the painting in front of me.
"I'm always invited to this kind of gathering. I guess I will be seeing more of you too from now on." Pointing to my ring. "I believed congratulations is in order."
"Thanks." That was my short reply, hoping that would give him the hint that I'm not interested to have a chit-chat with him. But to my dismay, he never left my side and just pretended to be interested in the painting that I was looking at.
