Chapter 5 - Chiroko Forest & The Girl

He had no idea why his summoning failed. But he was lucky enough that it wasn't so dire that he would die if he didn't summon one of his tamed beasts. Well, it didn't really fail per se, he sensed the location of his magic end us somewhere else as it was completely directed elsewhere. That was the reason the man made his way towards Chiriko forest, as that is where he felt his magic directed too.

He looked at the forest biting back a sigh, the forest was not extremely dangerous for him, as this man was Aisher Calx someone know as one of the top 20 mages in the country of Insula. A man knew not only for his magic capabilities but also for his good looks, silver hair and purple eyes that draws others to look at him. With his hands in his jacket pocket, he made his way into the forest.

'The only reason I'm in this area is due to my father. He asked me to deliver this package to the branch group in Tarcora city.' Aisher thought looking at the forest around. He found it odd while making his way through the forest, it was oddly quiet.

The forest at the moment felt something like a ticking time bomb. As if waiting for something or that all the creature went to hide due to something powerful. Either way something odd was going on in the forest something that he was not aware of. But he could sense the odd shift in energy it was similar to that of an elemental temple in which an apostle resides. For some reason it made him think of the first time he entered this forest alone when he was younger.

'~A young Aisher was walking through the normally beast filled forest looking for a beast. He was only a 7-year-old child at the time and was dared by a friend to go into the forest alone and to capture a beast like a summoner. If an adult at the time know what he was doing they would have stopped him as the Chiroko forest was fairly dangerous, especially so to children.

In the forest, there had been more than one incident in which a child or even an adult has died in the forest in the last 3 months. Aisher went in anyway despite promising his mother not to.

However, when walking into the forest it was odd. It was extremely quiet with not even the sound of the wind moving. No sound of the monsters in the forest and the energy of the forest felt weird in general. It was a powerful energy something Aisher never felt before.

As he walked deeper and deeper into the forest not encountering a single beast. "Sniff sniff."

Aisher suddenly heard the distant sound of a young girl crying. He followed the sound of the young girl till he entered a slight clearing he found a young girl in the clearing crying her left leg covered in blood she wore a pastel pink and slightly lacy dress that was torn and in bad shape. "Mommy! Mommy! Why isn't Daddy here I wanna see Daddy and Mommy again." The girl cried.

Aisher moved slightly to get closer snapping a twig underfoot. The girl stopped crying right away looking over in his direction her body slightly rigged and snaking slightly she put her hands over her mouth to stop her sobs and prevent herself from crying out. Desperately trying to hide from something.

"It's alright I'm not a beast." Aisher said as he walked out of the bushes but the little girl was even more frightened. She tried to run away but with her wound on her leg she cried out in pain as she fell to the ground and even tried to crawl away. Aisher raced over to her to make sure she is alright."

"P-please don't hurt me! Don't tell them I'm here! They hurt Mommy. Mommy got really hurt protecting me from them to make sure I could run away… to find Daddy. But I'm lost. Don't give me up I can't go to that dark scary place again… I can't go there alone." The girl began to cry out desperately tears falling down her face.

"I'm not going to hurt you. My name is Aisher what's your name."

"… Rina… just call me Rina. Mommy and Daddy just call me Rina too."

"How did you get here?"

"Mommy and I were grabbed by some bad man and locked in a dark scary room, we got hit. They did this to my leg… they also hurt Mommy really bad. I ran like mommy told till my legs gave out. But I can't run anymore… the bad guys are going to find me. I wish Daddy would find and save me. Daddy is super cool he is in charge of many scary-looking but nice people."

Rina continued to tell Aisher things about her dad and mom, noting she is daddy's princess according to her dad's friends and things like that. While Aisher patted her head making sure she calmed down.

"When they attacked Mommy I even stole their loud weapon that hurts people. Daddy would be proud I got that. I really wanna find daddy."

"Well… My home isn't that far from here. I can take you there so you can call your Dad to get you."

"Really. I can call daddy. Aisher is the best. You are a good boy when dad comes I'll be sure that he gives you rewards like he gives his friends." Rina paused. "… I'm also sorry about yelling at you earlier when you just wanted to help me. Mommy and uncle always tell me to thank those that help me in some way but I didn't."

Aisher just patted Rina's soft hair dark copper brown hair. He noticed the white and purple scarfs that were tied in her hair making the two slight pigtails they were long and trailed down her long hair.

Before the two could leave the forest together a large beast burst into the clearing it had glowing red eyes and black mist spewing from its mouth. To Aisher the beast looked mad it looked around looking at Aisher then locking eyes with Rina it then suddenly lunged at her to attack causing her to scream with wide eyes.

"Rina!" Aisher exclaimed jumping infant of Rina holding her head into his chest as he was hit by the beast attack its blade weapon slashing deep across Aisher's back starting from his right shoulder across. Aisher fell to the ground in front of her Rina's eyes wide and shaking as tears threaten to fall.

"Aisher? AISHER!" Rina screamed looking at Aisher who was on the ground barely conscious.

Aisher remembered hearing two loud noises a sound he never heard before but could never forget then Rina beside him. He slowly closed his eyes as Rina cried out in shock covered in his blood.

When he woke up he was alive his injury was healing slowly but no longer bleeding. Around his shoulder covering the wound was one of the scarves that Rina has tied in her hair. But Rina was no were to be seen the only evidence of her existence was the scarf.~'

Aisher knew he should have died that day when he got older he learned the extent of the injury he took. But somehow he was alive and he was certain Rina was the one that saved him, the only proof he had of that day and that the girl Rina existed was the white and purple scarf she left behind that he know wore as a bracelet of some kind. The spot he found that day he has been unable to find since in the forest.

As he walked further in the forest her begun to recognize some things around him. And eventually, he enters a clearing he vaguely recognized but before he could place it a rustling noise could be heard from the bushes which caused him to turn in that direction.

From the trees and bushes a hooded cloaked figure with a fox mask on appeared from the trees panting they look at Aisher. They held their hand out. "P-please… help me-." They muted before passing out falling to the ground.
