Celine declined the incoming phone call that wouldn't stop vibrating to bother her. Making Nayla wonder.
"Eh ... why did you refuse a call from Darren? Hemph ... I know, surely you want to be pushy because he left you, right?" Nayla guessed.
"Nay, stop it!" Celine turned hysterical.
It didn't take long before she realized her ridiculous behavior. "That ... Darren is the son of Mr. Vincent Theodore, owner of the TO brand."
"What?" Suddenly Nayla screamed as she rose to her feet, forgetting their current location, which was their office. It was still their working hours.
"Nay ... husshhhh!" Celine immediately closed Nayla's mouth.
"Umggg ..." Nayla struggled softly.
"Promise me not to make any loud noise. We'll get scolded later," said Celine.
Nayla brought her two fingers up in agreement. Celine also let go of Nayla's mouth which was closed with her hand.
"Huff!" Celine exhaled heavily and sat back down.
"Tell me ... What exactly had happened? Why is it like that? Or maybe Darren was adopted by Mr. Vincent when he turned into an adult? Because, so far there hasn't been any news about it, right?"
"Adoption after you're a fully grown up adult? Do you think there is a story like that. Adoption as a child could be more convincing," said Celine.
"But we didn't even know a thing about this for so long, right? Maybe, it's like this, that he was kidnapped or went missing in his childhood and they just reunited recently," replied Nayla innocently.
This was what made Celine; an introvert, could think of surviving as friends with Nayla, the silver-aged girl was too convinced that the world was so easygoing with her simple thoughts. Making Celine, who was not too nosy in nature, to feel comfortable being friends with Nayla.
"I just learned the truth last night, while attending a dinner meeting with sir Abdi," said Celine.
'Hufffh' Her breathing was heavy.
"Maybe he was deliberately hiding his identity from us," Nayla guessed.
"Yes, maybe. Only he knows whatever his purpose was."
"But is this too hard to believe? I mean, the son of a CEO from a big company, fell in love with an ordinary employee; like you. It's like a romantic plot in novels or FTV in movies. Too hard to believe, I see."
"Ha ha ha…" Celine laughed suddenly.
"It's funny when you think about it again. I also find it too hard to believe the truth when I just found out, even though I saw and heard it clearly, but my heart still doesn't believe it. I don't even know what to think of it..."
"Hufff ... I know how you feel. It must be hard for you. Especially considering the incident that separated both of you a few years ago." Nayla pointed out, touching Celine's shoulder.
Celine stared at her bestie. Her eyes seemed to be begging for the burden on her shoulders to be lifted. Her bestie's hand was very heavy, making her bend down pitifully.
"Is it wrong if I fall in love. In fact, even if Darren is someone who is different from me, I'm not the one who put that love in my heart, right? Then, why am I the one who was feeling the pain? Nor do I want to fall in love with him. If only I got to pick it, of course, I will choose not to anchor my heart. Where has there ever been someone who wanted to choose a wound in his life. Every human being would want the best to come to him, including, the love that was always unpredictable."
Celine no longer held back her tears. Freely, she allowed the clear moisture to flow down her blush-on cheeks.
Women were basically like that, if pain came and hit the heart, regardless of the place, then the pain itself will show its presence.
Believe me, the owner of the pain was not willing to show her sadness, at least look at the place first. But the pain seemed impatient to want to be glorified by showing its outline, which was a clear grain of a small petal.
Yes, basically the visible petals were very small, but somehow she was able to spill them out as clear granules drop by drop.
"Celine…" Nayla almost whined. However, she had to become her friend's reinforcement right now, considering their current position in the office. It was different if they were at home or anywhere else, it wouldn't be an obstacle for the two of them to cry together.
"I'm fine. Don't worry. After this, I'll shortly gather myself before focusing on work. Go back to your desk. Someone will get angry later if you stay here." Celine wiped her tears before she started tapping on her computer's keyboard.
Seeing Celine like this, Nayla could not help but feel like hugging her and let Celine cry in her arms. Which would always end up with the two of them crying together.
But they were in the office now, even though no one would get angry seeing them cry, at least as an employee who always got the best employee charter, they should maintain their professionality, right? Putting aside personal problems, that feeling that was hurting her heart right now.
However, even when an employee get the title of best employee for the year, he was still an ordinary human whose heart could be easily contaminated by sensitive things. Yes, the sensitivity of each person was different, and only that person himself could understand it.
"Come on follow me!" Nayla immediately pulled Celine's hand.
"Eh ... where are we going?" Celine was taken aback.
"Just come with me, don't forget to bring your make-up pouch."
"Haaa?" Celine chuckled in surprise, with her forehead frowned in confusion.
"Where's your make-up pouch? Bring it, hurry up." Nayla was already standing while Celine was still amazed.
Even so, she still did what her friend asked her to do. Picking up her make-up pouch and follow where her bestie's hands leading her.
"You are heading for the toilet, right?"
"Hemph.." said Nayla.
