Bernie was a demonic knight who was absolutely faithful to the king of Eryeth.
He would do anything the king of Eryeth ordered and even give his life for the king of Eryeth without blinking an eye.
He had originally followed the order of his king to become a demonic knight, thinking that he would go berserk like a beast and kill all his fellow comrades, eventually dying a pitiful death.
