"Where are they?" I asked Psalm in a low voice as she withdrawn by the door.
"At their room," she let me in. "What took you so long?"
I was about to answer her when she interrupted, "Tell me later. Go. I know you want to see them so bad." She got my things except my gifts for the twins.
I smiled widely at him. "Thank you, Summary."
"Psalm Marie," she firmly corrected me that made me chuckle.
I didn't wait any longer, I went in front of their room's door.
I knocked at the door three times.
"Mom?!" Wiseia shouted as she saw me after opening the door.
I smiled widely at her. I entered the room and there I saw Wiseio standing, smiling at me.
The twins came near at me and so I leveled with their height.
I can't help smiling. I missed them so much.
"I-I missed you, twins. Can Mom get a hug?" Good thing, I managed my voice before it cracked more.
Like a button pressed, the two hugged me so tight.
My eyes welled up tears. I closed my eyes. I missed them so damn much.
Minutes had passed when I heard a sniff. I faced the twins at me. There I saw them containing their sobs. This made my heart broke.
I wiped their tears. "D-Don't c-cry. Mom is here already." My voice failed me to state those words without cracking and my tears fell no matter how I tried not to.
Wiseia cried out loud while Wiseio wandered his eyes, biting his lips to contain his sob.
I bit my lips to stop it from trembling. I wanted to laugh. Actually, my whole body was trembling.
"I-I'm s-sorry, babies. I'm sorry," then I hugged them again.
This was the first time they acted like this. Back when we were at Canada, I never failed providing time for them no matter how busy I was back then. They were not used at this set-up.
Our hugs lasted for a couple of minutes. When I felt that they were calm, I looked at them.
"I have gifts for you. C'mon, let's open those," then we sat down at the couch.
I held them the paper bags. I felt relief when they smiled after looking what's inside.
"Our favorite hoodie,"Wiseo whispered.
Wiseia nodded, "Shoes, too."
"Are you happy?" they nodded. "I have another gift," then I held the boxes on them.
They immediately opened it.
"Looking from its size for us, these were not a bracelet right?" Wiseia said.
"A knotted anklet," Wiseio seconded.
I smiled at their comment. They were really an observant kids.
"Those were not an ordinary anklet. As you can see, among the beads, three of them do have a different color. Red bead is the navigator. We will connect it at each other's phone." I can see the amusement at their faces. "The blue bead is for recording while the green bead is your way of communication."
"Cool," both of them commented.
"Do you have like this, Mom?" Wiseio asked.
I shook my head. "No, only the two of you have that."
I was the one who created the design. A brown knotted anklet. If you look at it, it was just an ordinary anklet unless you know what was behind the three different color beads.
While they were busy at my gifts, I got that time to change my clothes.
"Are you gonna sleep here, Mom?" Wiseia asked after I change my clothes.
I smiled widely, "It's babies time!"
"I am not a baby anymore!" Wiseio contradicted.
Wiseia crossed her arms at her chest. "And so am I. We are twins. Duh!"
I chuckled. "Alright." I went to the bed and leaned my back at the backrest.
The twins sat down beside me.
"Mom, can we go back to Canada?" Wiseio asked that made me look at him.
"Why? Do you miss your friends there? I can ask Mrs. Thompson to have a video call."
Wiseio shook his head.
"Mom?" Wiseia paused. I looked at her "You can stop finding our daddy. We will promise to not asking anymore about him."
I look at them, astounded.
"What do you mean?"
"Mom, can we go back to Canada where we used to bond with each other?" Wiseia again asked.
I looked at Wiseio who was looking down.
"Since we got to the Philippines, you spent your time finding our dad. We didn't have bond that much. We are afraid," Wiseia paused."t-that we lost you too."
That made me froze. I think words ran out away from me.
Am I that busy to let them feel like that?
I composed myself. "I-I'm s-sorry," that was the only thing escape out of my mind.
"It's okay, Mom. We are supposed to because we were the one who pushed you through and now, we could not stand by it," Wiseio said, like he was an adult who understood everything to claim his mistake.
I smiled gently when I saw Wiseia seconded a nod. "Why do you talk like an adults? Where did you learn that, huh?"
They smiled widely.
"Really? Do we look like adults?" /Wiseia
I chuckled and shook my head. "Do you know that the one who claims to be an adult is really young and the one who claims to be young is really an adult?"
"What do you mean?" /Wiseia
"How do you say so?" /Wiseio
They looked at me curiously.
"Kids like you wanted to be an adult for some reason like they want to do like adults can do, travel, party, got a job and etcetera. While, the latter, adults were tampered with different issues in life that they wanted to claim that they were young. Sometimes, they wanted to go back to the time when they were young and their only problem was to how to escape with their parents to play. Did you get me?"
And, that's how I feel. I wanted to go back to the time where my only problem was the hard-headed Yino and the oh-so strict Thelo.
"Then," Wiseia grinned. "I'm young!"
"Psh! You really think and act so young." Wiseio hissed.
Wiseia raised her brow. "Look who's talking."
I stood between them before the got into each other nerves.
