"From now on, you will be watching each others' leverages. Call me if one or two of you does. A punishment will be rendered," Thelo said after we called it a day that night.
It all started in a fight then due to childish vengeance we watched each other moves so we could report to Thelo.
Honestly, I don't care about that at first. I laughed sometimes when I saw the three simply watching each other. But, I'm always with Yino so as usual I was involved.
One time, Yino and I witnessed how Tivo and Lark involved in a fistfight and the two witnessed Yino involved in a fistfight, too. We reconciled that we will kept each other's secret. Yeah, they included me. I guess that was the start we flock together. Truthfully, we denied first that we were friends.
Watching the three running while laughing out loud. I couldn't imagine that we will became friends.
They came near me, panting. My brows furrowed as curiosity swallowed. Curious to what did they do this time.
My mouth was to voice out the question. But, they already answered.
"We behaved."
"No buffooneries."
"Stating the fact."
"Well, if that's what you say," I blossomed a sweet smile that made them smile too. "I don't buy it."
The smile on their faces faded.
"We don't sell it neither." Yino countered.
"Funny. Let me remind you that you are the 'vice-president of the SPC. You should be a good role model not a jester." I faced Tivo and Lark. "And you two, do you want to be transferred again?"
"Why? You will miss me that much?"
"Certainly. Definitely. Absolutely," I paused. "Not, Triptivo."
Yino laughed. "Burn! Want some toothpaste?"
"I wouldn't be shock if Triptivo and Yino do such things. With your aura, Lark, I still coudn't imagine you being an accomplice with their buffooneries."
Lark chuckled. "You sounded like, Thelonious"
I shook my head. It began to be one of the cycles in my life. They do such zanies-I scolded them-then they paused-they do it again-then I scold them again and so on and so forth.
Nevertheless, I always included at Thelonious sermon whenever the three was caught.
Even I, their friend, didn't escaped their prank.
"Yino, do you have a water there? Can I have it? I think forgot my tumbler." I said, still finding a tumbler in my bag.
I heard no answer so I repeated my question. He didn't answer again.
I look at him. He didn't wear earpods.
"Hey, Yino!" It's impossible that he couldn't hear me. We were seatmates.
He was ignoring me.
"Hey, are you mad at me?"
He still didn't answer.
"Did I do something to you?"
"Are you okay?"
"Can I borrow your correction tape?" Yino asked Stacy who was on his left side.
"I have an extra here, you can have it."
Yino got Stacy's correction tape when she didn't hand it to him and said thank you afterwards.
"What is the problem? Why are you ignoring me?"
I bit my lower lip so it would stop from pouting.
I kept on asking Yino until our class started. When the class ended, I was about to asked him again when he went out the room quickly.
When I saw Lark still fixing his things, I went near him. "Hey, Lark! Did Yino told you about something..?"
He looked at me and raised his brow.
"something like he is mad at me?"
I expected an answer but he left. Lark ignored me, too.
My eyes watered. What did I do?
On my way to the cafeteria, I saw Tivo. I hope he would'nt ignore me.
"Tivo!" I called then went near him. "I was wondering why the two kept on ignoring me, do you know why?"
"Hey, Yino! Lark!"
I thought he called Yino for us to talk but,
"Wait for me!" he ran towards them.
I wanted to cry but I don't want to embarrass myself.
Until our afternoon class ended, they still kept on ignoring me.
I went to the benches to read while waiting the 30 minutes I set on my timer to finish. I guess I will do my duty alone.
But, I couldn't read. The three ignoring me bugged me so much.
This was the first they ignored me.
My eyes watered when I remember Stacy was in the group instead of me. They didn't want me anymore. Lark, who always act like my big brother; Triptivo, who always bugged me whenever he caught me bored, sad and etcetera, and Yino, who always there for me ever since. They have their new girl in the group.
My tears flowed like a waterfalls. I couldn't restrained from crying.
I didn't even told Thelo their zanies so why were they ignoring me?
I wiped my face with my hanky but my tears still going out from eyes.
When my phone rang as the 30 minutes was finish, I didn't contained myself crying. I cried out loud.
"Do I have to say sorry? I don't even know why am I going to say sorry." I said between my sobs. "I guess they don't like me to be their friend anymore,"
My eyes widened when I felt someone hugged me. I was about to pushed that someone when he talked.
"I'm sorry, Cynwise. We were just joking." Yino looked at my face and fixed my hair. "You look like a mess," then he laughed.
Lark pinched my cheeks. "I'm sorry, Cyn."
"They force me to do that, Wisteria. I'm sorry." Triptivo said that my eyes rolled.
"For all I know, you were the one came up with the idea," I said between my sobs.
"Uh-I was the one who came up with the idea, Cynwise. I'm sorry. I didn't you will cry that hard and loud," Yino bow down his head as guilt crepts on him
I opened my mouth so I could lash out when he handled me a bottle.
"Drink first."
"I did the planning. We were just mad because you let someone court you at a young age. Let me remind you that we we are just grade 5 students with an age around 8 to 10."
My eyebrows shot on upwards while my jaw dropped. How did they know about that.
I put the bottle down. "For clarifications, I didn't let him. He just insisted. And for goodness sake, he is 6 years older than me," I said out of frustration.
Crossing his arm across himself, Triptivo raised his left brow. "So, someone was courting you?"
My brows furrowed in confusions. "What do you mean?"
"I just made up that court-thingy."
Oh no! Oh no! Oh no no no no!
"Well," I forced a laugh. "It's a prank! I prank y'all."
"You will tell us the name or Waldo Thelonious will let you tell us the name?" Yino asked, I mean threatened me.
"C-C'm-mon, I-It was just a prank."
They didn't answered so I looked at them. They were both looking at my hands that were fiddling my fingernails.
I stopped myself from doing that and scratch my temple.
"She didn't want to tell us. Let Thelonious handled that," then Thelonious started to walked away.
"H-Hey! I'm gonna tell you now but please, don't tell Thelo, my auntie mom and my uncle dad about this."
Tivo went back to his position.
I have so many doubts on revealing the name of that boy but I have no choice and so I spilled it.
We went to our house like the usual. My heart keeps on pumping so fast and loud. My hands were cold.
"Why are you unusually quiet?" a chuckled of Lark followed.
"N-nothing. I-Im just thinking about our project."
Yino looked at me with wide eyes. "We have a project?!"
Oops.
"Really?" Tivo asked me, full of sarcasm. "Create a better excuse. We are classmates, Wisteria. As far as I know, we have no projects."
I shook my head and closed my eyes so hard. "I'm scared, okay? I-I'm scared that you three might told them about this."
"We already reconciled. Don't worry," Yino laughed then mess up my hair.
Gladly, they didn't speak anything related about that.
Morrow came, I went to the benches to wait for the three. We usually eat our snacks at the benches.
"U-Uhm, Cynwise?"
I looked at the boy who called me. He was the one who insisted to court me. Though he was bowing, I recognized him with his voice.
"Yes?"
"I know I've been too bad at you in way that I insisted to court you at a young age and even when you rejected me. I came here personally to tell you that I will stop bugging you anymore. Anyways, thank your for your kindness."
There was something in heart that popped and something in my chest that lightens.
"It's okay. Don't worry. I also want to thank you for being considerate and respectful," a smiled blossomed at my mouth.
When I wandered my eyes, I saw three boys hiding and showing thumbs up. I looked at the boy infront of me who just smiled at them.
I think I have an idea about what happened. I don't know of I should thank them or be mad at them.
