Chapter 17 - Dream Chase (ii)

I wasn't sure if I could block it or not, but regardless, I tried to block it. I didn't want to feel the same pain again.

He swung his sword at me, and I was able to block it this time.

He continuously kept attacking me, and I did my best to block it. Honestly, I am not even sure if I should call it blocking or not. I am still pushed back by his every strike.

"I will kill you!"

'Who are you?'

I tried to say something, but words weren't coming out of my mouth.

He just kept attacking me like a mad man.

He just wanted to slice me down.

There was no chance for me to attack him.

I noticed that all his attacks were getting deflected by my sword and cutting and the air around me.

It was also cleaving the people around me.

I could hear their screening, their blood gushing out of their body.

His attacks were getting stronger and stronger with his every strike. Or maybe I was just losing energy and getting weak?

I can't hold it for long.

Two or three strikes and I am done.

My hands gave out as the sword slipped my hand, and I fell down from his strikes.

I looked up to the man, he raised his sword and screamed, "I will kill you" but... there were tears in his eyes. He was crying. He looked in agony.

I closed my eyes as I waited for the pain of getting my body cut, but... huh?

Some moments passed by. Seconds felt like an eternity, but I didn't feel any pain.

I opened my eyes to see someone was blocking his attack with bare hands.

"Stop it, Mike. He didn't do anything wrong, and you know it"

'Huh?'

"Why did you do that?" The man called Mike glared at me as he pulled back his sword and shouted, "You could have let it slide. Why did you have to do that?"

There were tears in his eyes, but this time, he is clearly crying.

"Now then, what should we do?" Someone from behind me said.

I looked back to see six people were behind me with the sword in their hands, and all the swords had a white sheath with three colored stripes on them.

Out of six people, four were girls, two were guys, and one of them was the one who just blocked the attack and said me.

I couldn't see any of their faces except the face of the man called Mike.

I tried to look clear by squinted my eyes at them, but still couldn't see any of their faces.

Whenever I tried to look at their faces, my vision got blurry.

"What should we do now?" said one of the girls.

"War is going on," followed the male voice.

"Let's kill them," said the second girl.

"Yeah, let's do that. They came here to die after all", said the third girl.

"Even if we don't, they will die anyway," said the fourth girl.

The man who helped me moved his hand at me.

Is he a good guy or a bad guy?

"Come on now, get up. let's go, Lo**n**."

What did he say?

I grabbed his hand and got up.

I noticed the pain had stopped now, so I looked at my wound, but it was gone.

It was totally healed like I was never stabbed.

The man looked at me and asked, "Where is the princess?"

'Huh? Princess?'

I tried to speak again, but as expected, words didn't come out of my mouth.

Suddenly, I felt as if my lips were moving on their own, and I heard a voice, "She must be at the palace. And call her Queen, or she will get angry if she heard you call her princess again."

I couldn't believe it... no, I didn't want to believe it, but it was my voice.

The man chuckled and said, "Fine, fine."

Everyone, including me, took a mask out of nowhere and wore it.

I looked at the sky, and the sun was almost set now.

I took a step forward, and suddenly my head ached. I felt dizzy as my vision got blurry.

When I opened my eyes, I found myself in yet another place.

[Author's Note- Mike here is pronounced as mi-ke or Me-k or Me+k]
