Chapter 21 - A New Friend and Ally 1

Ginchiyo groaned and opened her eyes. She noticed she was laying on a bed in the infirmary. She sat up slowly and looked to her left and saw Aria. Aria looked at her and smiled.

"You're in here as well?" Ginchiyo asked.

"Yeah...After defeating you, I passed out..and I just woke up here. I could've been left, but I stayed a while longer and checked if you were okay." Aria said.

Ginchiyo blushed and choked on her words. She looked away and closed her eyes. Aria giggled and smiled.

"I don't need you to check up on me. I have a husband who can do that!" Ginchiyo said.

"Who's your husband?" Aria asked.

"My husband is Muneshige." Ginchiyo looked at Aria. "Did you not know?"

"I wasn't paying attention." Aria laughed nervously, softly.

Ginchiyo pinched her cheek and Aria whined a bit. Ginchiyo smiled a bit and let her go. Aria pouted a little and looked away. Muneshige and Uchi walked in the room. Uchi ran to Aria and held her arms and smiled.

"Hey Uchi." Aria smiled at her.

"I'm so glad you're okay.." Uchi said and hugged her.

Aria giggled and hugged back. Uchi was very worried about Aria after she passed out. Both Aria and Ginchiyo were in a 4 day coma after going all out in their battle.

"You finally awaken." Muneshige smiled and held Ginchiyo's hand.

"Yes. I have recovered well also. Ready for combat." Ginchiyo nodded.

"Hold your horses, you just woke up from your 4 day coma." Muneshige said.

"Four days? It feels like the battle just happened yesterday." Ginchiyo said.

"Nope it's been four days. You and Aria really went all out and used up 100% of your energy. You still need time to rest.." Muneshige said.

"But-"

"No buts. Rest. We no longer have a kingdom to call our own. It's in your best interest to rest up." Muneshige kissed her cheek and walked out.

Uchi followed him and closed the door. Aria looked at Ginchiyo and looked a bit sad. Ginchiyo looked at her hands, which was resting on her lap.

"Ginchiyo." Aria said.

"He is right. I no longer lead my men into salvation and honorship. I am no longer a warlord..I have no kingdom to call my own anymore." Ginchiyo said.

"This..is my fault.." Aria said.

"No do not blame yourself for this inevitable outcome. It is my fault for not being strong enough. My fault for underestimating my opponent." Ginchiyo said.

Aria looked at her hands and twirled her thumbs. She looked at Ginchiyo and pulled her arm and got her out of the bed.

"W-What are you doing? Did you not-"

"We are going out for fresh air. Nothing wrong with taking a little stroll outside." Aria said and put on her slippers.

"Fine, but if we get in trouble." Ginchiyo said and put on her slippers.

Aria and Ginchiyo left the room and snuck their way outside. Ginchiyo was still a bit skeptical but followed Aria regardless. They made their way into the garden of the hospital.

"Mmmm! Some nice fresh air hits the spot after 4 days!" Aria smiled.

"Yeah..I agree." Ginchiyo said, looking around.

The petals of the flowers floated with the gentle breeze. Both of their gowns fluttered softly as they stood outside. They looked far into the distance and Aria pointed.

"That tower is huge." Aria said.

"Mhm, Terreria has the tallest towers in all of Genten." Ginchiyo said.

"Are any of you originally from Genten?" Aria asked.

"No. None of us Warlords are originally from Genten. Our homeland was destroyed in an all out war with a dragon named Zevfulgar..A water dragon..He flooded our homeland..he is one of the 4 Dragon Warlords in the Dragon Continent." Ginchiyo said.

"Zevfulgar...I have heard that name before..." Aria said.

"Only few have seen him with their very eyes..I was one of them...Luckily we were all able to evacuate before out homeland was fully flooded." Ginchiyo said.

"Mmm..so what are your plans from this point on?" Aria asked.

"I have no kingdom to call my own, so I may be a wandering Warlord.." Ginchiyo said.

"You don't have to be." Aria said and looked at the sky.

"What do you mean..?" Ginchiyo asked and looked at Aria.

"Join my army. I'll keep you, Muneshige and all your people safe. Your kingdom will remain untouched. You have my word." Aria held her hand out.

Ginchiyo was stunned by this offer. She was never asked to join an army before and didn't know what to say. She parted her lips to say something but couldn't. Aria gave a smile and waited for her answer.

"You don't have to give one now." Aria lowered her hand.

"Aria. I would be honored to join your army. I see a bright future ahead of us." Ginchiyo said and held her hand out.

Aria nodded and took her hand then smiled. Ginchiyo smiled back then looked off into the distance. Aria did also and watched the birds fly and sing. Muneshige and Uchi smiled at each other and back at Aria and Ginchiyo.

"So how long have you and Ginchiyo been married?" Uchi asked.

"Mmm, roughly around 5 years." Muneshige said.

"Has she bared any children?" Uchi looked at him.

"Nope, she said she doesn't want children right now, nor does she know if she wants any." Muneshige looked at Uchi.

"Ah I see." Uchi nodded.

"What about you? How long have you known Aria?" Muneshige asked.

"Uhm about 6 months now. She's pretty callous at times, but a free spirit at heart." Uchi smiled.

"My wife is the same way, she's brave, courageous, and has high charisma..but her ideals and mine kinda clash at times but I have nothing but unconditional love for her, even if she can be callous also and has a very sharp tongue." Muneshige smiled nervously.

"Aria and Ginchiyo would get along well then and often clash." Uchi said.

"I agree." Muneshige nodded.

Meanwhile with Lady Nō and Mitsuhide in Nixtorm. Lady Nō sighed and placed her hand on her hips as she listened to his request.

"You know we can not betray Lord Omu..he would absolutely kill us." Nō said.

"Yeah and I wouldn't be able to travel and get married like I want to!" Okuni said.

"Yes I know but..He is pure evil..we can not let his plan succeed!" Mitsuhide said.

"Count me out..I am sorry Mitsuhide but I have to follow orders." Lady Nō walked away with Okuni.

"Nōhime! I know something about your husband that you don't!" Mitsuhide said.

Lady Nō stopped and Okuni looked back. Nō looked back as well and Gracia looked at them.

"What do you know about Nobunaga that I don't?" Nō asked.

"His location. The truth on why he disappeared. Surely you'd reconsider not wanting betray Omu after hearing this." Mitsuhide said.

"Let's hear it then. Let's talk more in the palace." Lady Nō said.

"Right." Mitsuhide nodded.
