Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Exploration (Part 1)

"Actually you can start after you take a shower and we get some proper grub," Ramona said to the bright-eyed little girl. She had long messy hair and dirty... well everything. But that hardly concealed the fact that she was an adorable little nine or ten year old. And her ecstatic face only seemed to add to it.

"Okay, what do you want me to cook? Also what ingredients do we have? Though I suppose I'm quite good at working with what I have. I can also grow what I don't if given enough time," the little girl muttered, her brain seemingly powered by infinite hamster wheels.

"Woah, kid. That's impressive but since you just woke up let's just go out to eat. Also, I don't even know your name." Ramona said, in an attempt to calm the girl.

"Oh, it's... Yuri."

"Well hey there Yuri, my name's Ramona and I guess we'll be working together from now on," Ramona replied with a smile that would have seemed warm if not for the slurred speech.

"Well if you could tell me where the bath is, I can find the rest for myself and you could go rest," Vivian said as she noticed that Ramona was highly inebriated.

"Yeah yeah, second door on the left once you head upstairs."

"Okay thank you, ma'am."

"Don't call me ma'am, makes me feel old." Ramona pouted childishly.

"What should I call you then?"

"Call me, Her Majesty The Queen," Ramona chuckled, "I'm just kidding, call me whatever you want, just not ma'am."

"Yes, Teacher."

Vivian watched her new teacher limp out the door and waited until she heard her footsteps fade to begin her exploration for cleanliness.

'What a reckless woman, but at least I get to learn magic. Even though she probably doesn't have powerful magic it can still come in handy for unexpected situations." She slowly walked out the opened door, footsteps echoing softly when she stepped into a large storage room.

To her right was a steep staircase her teacher had mentioned earlier as the way out. The room was quite large and had many shelves but each shelf was almost completely empty at first glance. However, as she looked closer, there were places on the shelves where dust was moved or not there at all.

She swiped a finger along one of them and was startled when her finger came in contact with something solid that she could not actually see.

'Illusion magic, not high level, but I think this teacher might have more to her than meets the eye.'

*SNOOOOOOOOOORE

A loud sound seemed to shake the walls around Vivian.

'There's no way a woman that size can make a noise that large so there must be someone else here. Let's not dawdle any longer.' She told herself and walked up the staircase, opening the door with an almost imperceptible creak.

'Huh, looks like Crazy Lady can do maintenance but she couldn't even clean the vomit in the other room.'
