Wondering what had caused him to wake up? As he hurried out the room door.
Finding Christa in the kitchen, she had a glass with some water and a pack with tablets, next to each other.
She seems to be sound asleep, picking her up Thomas takes her to bed.
Pulling the counterpane over her as he hugs her for a while feeling so comfortable just with her next to him.
Thinking, 'How stubborn she can be at times, but I will keep hoping eventually one of these good days she will give in.'
Looking at her as she sleeps, Thomas whispers, 'The reason I never got you something to sleep in. It is because I had high hopes that you will quit your foolishness and give in, knowing we are married and you will join me in the bed.
But tomorrow I will get a settee or a comfortable sleeping sofa. No one will suspect we sleep separated, but this is where you belong in my bed.'
Hearing the pounding on the roof, Christa decided to keep lying down. The AC was on, but the thick covers that were covering her, were warm and cozy, and it was keeping her warm enough.
Taking some deep breaths, she inhaled his shampoo odor that has absorbed in his pillow. Cuddling his pillow enjoying the scent, 'God what is happening to me, I know I love Paul but Thomas is so different.
I have tried everything to drive him away, but hearing how his Mother, brothers, and sisters spoke so ill about him. I wanted to do something, but he asked me not to say anything.
He also said sorry so many times. I know it was my fault and he said so himself. So tell me, Lord, why does he keep saying sorry if it's my fault?"
The noise had startled her, disturbing her thought bringing her back to the present.
Christa wonders, 'Where was it coming from, knowing that no one has access to the room. Pulling the covers over her head, forcing her eyes to close.
Thinking, it was a member of his family but then she heard his voice, 'This is real, he is home.'
Removing the covers from over her head only to see the fan and in the corner, she sleeps.
He had bought a long beautiful whatever that thing is. It looks as though it will be very comfortable to sleep on.
I was beginning to get accustomed to the bed but this is an indication that he doesn't want me in his bed.'
Fighting to hold back the tears, feeling so distraught. Christa only had enough time to get under the covers to shield herself from being seen by him.
Stifling the cry until the room was quiet and the sound of the door closed, before crawling out from under the covers going straight to the washroom.
Unable to stop the tears, Christa cries then decided to make herself as strong as she can be. Thinking, 'Just as he wants to stay separated she will do the same. Wondering, 'Why does he bring roses every morning when we are shifting further away?
'Was I such a fool thinking that first day when I saw the rose believing he was reaching out to me as a peace offering?'
What are his plan and intentions? And this time it was three. Some days he mixes the colors and other days he brings sometimes all red or yellow or pink which I love the most.
Well, I should take a hint and stay clear away from him and let it flow on its free course.'
Dressing then went and fix herself something to eat. 'It has been a while since she has visited the pen, because of the pain and her body was so weak.
Deciding to stretch her legs and catch a breath of fresh air. Christa leaves the house quietly, without anyone seeing her, and walks slowly toward the pen.
Getting close to the cow pen seeing this hand come through the bars and release something. Christa stood still then went close to see what the person disposes on the ground.
Seeing the syringe, she picks it up and returns to the main house. Wondering, 'Who disposed of it there? And why?
It seems to be some sort of treatment. Hurrying Christa changes and head towards the junction. Curious to know, 'What the cow was injected with?'
Taking a taxi, wondering, 'Who would do such a thing? If Thomas had instructed them to give the cows any form of treatment.
Then there was no need to dispose of the syringe outside?' Christa, asks the driver to take her to a lab that does chemical testing.
Informing the chemise what she observed, thinking as she waited for the testing to be done. Hearing that it was poison Christa asked, "What can I do to save the animal that was injected with this poison?"
"Do you know any Vet that could save the animal?" The chemise asks.
"Please help me, these animals cost a lot of money, and I know my friend will be very grateful?"
"Look Ma'am, if the animal has been injected over six hours already, then there is no hope, the animal will die."
The Chemise sees her look at her time, "No, as soon as I saw the syringe drop, I took it up, I could say it is only about three hours."
"Okay, gives me your address and I am going to call a friend and explain to him. He will know exactly what to do."
"Thank you so much and I need one other thing? I don't know if there is any fingerprint besides mine, what I observed when I saw the syringe drop, the person had on no gloves. But go ahead and make the call first, I could wait."
Taking the envelope home, Christa secures it together with the syringe. Then changes and went down to the pen.
Hearing the loud talking she went near the group of men and asks, "What is the problem?"
Hearing the men saying, "That Tom didn't inform us of any vet visiting."
She then said, "Maybe he forgets, but since he is here, let him give the animals a total checkup," starting from that stall first."
"Ma'am you cannot do that, Mr. Fortune will become very angry with me," Jason responded.
"Listen to me, you call the boss, and while you do that. I will show the Vet the first stall, he needs to check."
