"Damn, how could I make such a silly mistake? I let an important captive escape...!" I shouldn't have wasted my time in coming here and now he escaped. I was taking a little rest and discussing the next plane with Seren before coming, as I know these guards can easily handle a kid unlike that inexperienced wolf guarding the underfloor.
She thought, "Who knew that his suit has the ability to teleport? The Magic Tools with the ability to teleport a person is very rare and it also requires huge amounts of mana to operate. The powerful Kingdoms and clans have rings to teleport and store many items but, the Ring or a Suit in this case is very rare and expensive. How did those weaklings' get their hands on this stuff?"
She pondered, "How can he get his hands on it? It must be that... That ruin is still gifting them with these types of powerful tools when the barrier wasn't enough of a big deal already." *worried*
"drat...! *disappointed* I'm such a fool, I am the one who let him recover enough of his mana to teleport. Seren must be very angry with the person she admires..." She embarrassingly looked down and cursed herself inside, as she realized her mistake, her carelessness, and all this happened before a girl who admires her vigilance.
"You, *Commanding* call 'Raff' and tell him to catch that Prince as soon as possible. The prince has already used his last resort of mana, he shouldn't be able to teleport again. Tell him to not delay and restrain him with the 'Enchanted cuff' after catching him."
I gave an order to another guard standing beside me since the immediate order I gave wasn't enough to catch the Prince if he is already very away from here. The werewolves can't trace him back before he escapes out of range. I asked for Raff because he is quite faster than others and he can smell far better than us, he has two strips of red furs on his head that is his unique feature among the warriors currently staying in the Fortress. I told him to use 'Enchanted Cuff' so that it can restrain his teleportation magic, it has a unique feature that restrains the captives' mana flow.
// Seren P.O.V //
Meanwhile, Seren who was watching this whole incident from the 'Surveillance Crystal' is getting shocks after shocks back to back. Her whole plan to capture the Prince just blew in thin air... and if that was not enough to break her down, Hugo made a green blood bath on the other side of the wall... almost made her puke in utter disgust.
"What...? *shocked* Ew~ No!" *disgusted* She has never seen a captive vanishing into thin air and a dead body puking green blood. It takes her anxiety to another level, and she can't stop imagining the pungent smell coming out from the dead body, even though she is so far away and the smell possibly can't reach her sharp nose.
"What is happening my God? Tracy! meet me up here quickly..." *running*
She called Tracy on the platform where they usually announce everything related to training, work, and battles. Upon receiving the message, Tracy got downstairs immediately, Seren also hurried herself to go downstairs.
She used 'Relay Sound' to pass the information to Tracy, instead of calling someone else to bring her there. That would be a waste of time... It runs on its own after recharging the mana with mana crystals and can be used for almost three days continuously and its range depends on its quality. The one she is using right now is of the lowest grade and can only work under one kilometer.
Despite that, it is deemed very good and useful, considering its latest development among various other Magic Tools and superior presence of usefulness in battles and various other fields requiring strategy... The magic tool is attached to the back of the ears and a cord extends to the neck of the user for reading and transmitting voice. It is very useful and you can also communicate without having to actually release your voice during a secretive mission like sneaking inside an enemy's base.
But, they didn't use it before despite having two of it, one with Seren and one with Tracy. The Magic Tool is very expensive due to the confidential ingredients and its potential during a war strategy. The huge advantage such a tool gives to any force over others and its effectiveness in any field is very crucial and valuable... The reason they didn't use it even after knowing the advantage they have is that Seren wanted to train her Troops in the usual strategy and environment, also, she wanted to test her own strategy and knowledge.
They both arrived at the stand almost at the same time and the warriors nearby gathered around them.
"Tracy, how did he disappeared like that? We have to find him immediately or we will lose our important bargain." I asked her to do something about it quickly. If we lose him after capturing him, we will be wasting our energy and time for nothing, and most importantly we are also losing a great opportunity to bring down the human kingdom to its knees which had become a nuisance for us many centuries ago.
Tracy replied embarrassingly, "Well, I lost him, but- *hurriedly* don't worry, we will get him right away, I have already taken actions before coming here."
"Huh...?" *confused* What's with her? It's not her usual self, Why is she acting so clumsy?
"Tracy! Why are you more worried than you should be?"
"Eh! *surprised* Well, we should also use our Elites, they won't be enough to search the whole Forest in time." She got surprised as Seren didn't yell at her negligence, though she knew Seren won't yell at her no matter what, still, she was hesitant to meet her after making a mistake. In the next breath, she changed the topic back to the urgent concern...
Seren stared at her blindly, "Did she just deliberately ignored my question? hmph- *grumpy* I will get back to her later." Seren made up her mind in that instance, just to tease her, she doesn't want to make her angry.
Then Seren also carried back her attention to the main objective, "You are right, we should send ten of them at least."
"By the way, there is something wrong with a human dead body~"
"Where?" Tracy asked in a hurry like she wants to take care of that body in instant and go find the runaway Prince with Elites'. There is absolutely no time for another problem when their hands are already full with recapturing a fugitive.
"Don't fret, I think Hugo can handle that on his own." I said it, so she won't have to worry about it and focus on recapturing the human Prince."
*Shouting* "Elitest squad one! follow up and capture the Human Prince with me. This is 'Recapturing squad', I will explain the matter on the way."
Tracy called a Squad nearby, each squad consists of ten Elites of werewolf warriors. They quickly left the Fortress from the main gate without delaying any further. Tracy will explain the matter and recapturing process on the way...
*Meditating*
"How come that prince still got so much mana inside him? To be able to teleport after a short interval of recovery on getting knocked unconscious by the 'Shadow Nerf'... That's some unimaginable feat for a human in his age."
Seren wondered, are humans evolving more powerful? That means a great threat is approaching them if even this Prince is able to achieve the feats of an 'Elite Magus'. Though it's not possible for all of the new generations to have this level of power, still it's not a piece of good news.
// Hugo P.O.V //
"Why all this mess? is there any attack?" He called out a werewolf while studying the corpse. He had just begun to examine the corpse and suddenly he noticed a slight commotion on the terrace of Fortress.
"No, it's not an enemy attack..." The werewolf replied and came closer to tell, "The human prince escaped!" He got close to Hugo, so no enemy could listen to what was he going to say.
"What...? They couldn't even restrain a kid? How irresponsible..." *disappointed* Hugo just said those words and turned back, as he genuinely doesn't care whether that Prince escaped or died. He has his own works to do, the matter about 'Prince Erick' is not his concern.
"Hmm... the internal organs are also swollen just like his skin and blood vessels," I tore up his abdomen skin before it gets any bigger and it's all the same. They all are swollen and have pitch-black spots on them. I had to tear it as I was already getting uneasy of the feeling that it will explode anytime soon.
"Seems like whatever is this liquid, it was stored in his all organs and now it is acting up after his death," I told a werewolf standing five meters behind me. His task is to note everything happening around the Fortress and report to the investigation department. He was standing so far because of the pungent smell and I also asked him to not get any closer to the Corpse, it might be dangerous if it explodes...!
