Chapter 29 - Chapter 27 (Swamp of Daemon Land)

I feel an uneasiness with this particular corpse, even though I'm used to investigating the corpse these swollen organs are just too much of a headache. If I don't do anything they will really explode at this rate, especially his brain. Who knows if his brain is already boggling up with this liquid, we don't even know what's this liquid purpose? How was he even alive with this thing inside his body? What if it explodes in open? So, I moved the corpse far away from the others' sight and began examining it again.

"Well, the green substance was also present in his blood vessels... but wait, his blood wasn't green, was it...? He was still secreting red blood before his death!" I asked the werewolf, he nodded in agreement while taking a look from the back. That's very unusual, I checked his blood on the back and it was still Red, but only after his death, it became Green...!

"Ugh... this bizarre liquid!" *annoyed*

"Wow...! his private parts are not affected at all. At least one thing is in shape!" Hugo said as he tore the pants off the corpse.

The werewolf writing the details got slightly startled at the way he used those words. He said in his thought, "Ew, What do you mean by Wow? Could be that those rumors are true?"

"What is the use of his any part? Hurry up your examination and just bury him underneath before he explodes." He said to avoid any further sickening view.

"Let me do my work in peace, you can just go away. I will report you shortly." Hugo replied without considering his words. Why bury a corpse without a proper postmortem? The cause must be found before burying or incinerating the corpse.

The wolf arrived back at the location of the Prisoners and sat back, "What a disorder, first that corpse and now that human prince has also disappeared."

Meanwhile, Hugo arrived before him, not giving him a second to rest.

"What? That's quick!" He thought, "I asked him to not wander around in those places he was getting in, I wasn't expecting Investigating rest of the body can be so quick."

Hugo replied, "No, it's not finished yet. I can't do that now, I have a business to complete." He pointed out towards Amzi and further asked, "By the way, Do we have an autopsy room here?"

The wolf replied, "Certainly not, but we do have a spacious medical room."

"That's not the place I would recommend if I were in your place. You have seen that corpse, it's risky to place it inside," I replied as the corpse might infect the room and the other injured werewolves are also healing there. He nodded in agreement and asked, "What now?"

"Don't worry, for now, I have made a strong coffin of the earth around him. I examined, the corpse is not expanding anymore. So it should be safe to keep it there, for now. Besides.., my hands are already full." I said to persuade him to not worry about the corpse and first let me continue with my Interrogation.

"Are you sure you should leave that corpse in that way? I am not an expert, but I know if the corpse is rotting that much, it will be hard to examine it over time." The werewolf replied as he pondered.

"Uh, what are you saying? *disapproval* I know better... That corpse is already decayed to the extent I can't study a thing, except that strange Green-colored liquid... I have kept the sample in my storage ring and I will analyze its effect on the body later."

I have a small storage ring that can let me get access to my store anywhere. I have kept the sample of the liquid that came out from his mouth in a sealed container, so even if that body decomposed to nothingness I still have a large amount of sample to work with, besides I can't just examine a corpse anywhere. It needs patience and many necessary tools for proper experiments.

He finally got away... "Now I can do my business in peace." *nefarious smile*

// Somewhere in the forest, West of the Fortress //

// Prince P.O.V //

*Thoughts* "Somebody help! Argh... *screaming out loud* common, this is helpless. Why am I so bad with luck?" Just as I thought I escaped from very big trouble I got stuck in this situation. This is not any good than getting surrounded by the werewolves, this is worse... I might die at this rate.

The Prince successfully warped three kilometers away from the fortress, but he wrapped in the wrong place. He got himself teleported at a cliff and the only thing holding him from falling is a small tree miraculously growing in that sloppy cliff... He teleported in mid-air and just as he thought he is gonna die from falling, his left hand somehow got stuck in a weird T-shaped branch without him realizing anything.

// Prince Erick warped three kilometers in the straight distance, but the actual distance between the place is more than ten kilometers walking by foot. //

He didn't realize it ahead, because the tree was right behind him when he warped there. Though it was very painful as even that branch got twisted from his body weight and nearly snapped his bone, it saved him. He screamed in pain but quickly calmed himself down, before getting on top of that branch with his other hands. After getting on top of the branch, he looked at his injured left hand which had begun to swell, and he found out it is dislocated due to the way it got stuck in the branch... Nevertheless, he relieved himself with the fact he didn't fall.

Even after that, the place where he is stuck is twenty meters below the surface and the cliff is too sloppy to climb back without using magic... and after using that teleportation, he got no mana at all. He began to breathe heavily with exhaustion and extreme pain and only a slight wisp of his mana is holding him from falling from the long cliff and dying. As a result of all this accident, his back pain emerged once again and now he is in extreme pain without any 'Healing beds stone' as the previous one already crumbled after losing its mana.

At the time of his escape, he briefly estimated the direction of the Fortress and his Kingdom. Earlier, he wasn't sure where to teleport. So when the werewolves moved him on the upper floor, he was able to judge the direction from the sunlight and roughly guessed about the safe place he should be teleporting.

But, at the exact moment of teleportation, he lost his balance and lost track of the direction due to Tracy's threatening aura. He wanted to warp in the South but accidentally warped himself on the West... As he looked at his surroundings, he realized he got himself up in a situation way worse than the Fortress of savage werewolves.

He is stuck on the cliff of the 'Swamp of Daemon Land'. The Swamp is a forbidden place for both Humans and Wolves... cause no one who gets there returned alive! The tale of this Swampland is way before the formation of Daemon land itself.

Prince Erick hasn't entered the swamp yet, he is stuck in the boundary of the Swampland and the only way is up... which can also be way down with a slight mistake. He is fatigued and there is almost no mana left in his body. However, he has to get up on the surface if he wants to get back to the kingdom safe and sound...

What can he do now...? Say it his bad luck or miscalculation... he is in a very serious situation, somewhat can be said, ridiculously at Death stairs.

The Prince sat on the branch and began to restore his energy without caring about his swollen hands and aching back pain, he is mediating to endure the pain and recover the mana as quickly as possible. At the same time, he remembered something and hoped for someone to find him quickly as possible as he can't climb up in this condition.

At this point, he shouldn't be hasty and try to climb the cliff in a rush of getting back to his kingdom. He knows very well that this region is very dangerous and even sitting on the boundary is jolting his whole body with chills.

Looking at the surrounding, there is a thick layer of white fog and he can't even see the end of the cliff itself. The fog is odorless still, it emits a frightening atmosphere, and at the same time, the individual feel dizzy as he continues to inhale the dense air around him. The fog is the reason why the cliff is white-washed and very sloppy even though it's made of black rock. As prince Erick engrossed in meditation he slowly began to fall asleep due to the effect of fog...

// Raff P.O.V //

"I smell human... hahaha" *excited*
