Chapter 12 - The Guy who gave me LETTERS

The frame dropped on CEO Seo's head, it bounced, and the glass was shattered into pieces when it hit on the floor. I was utterly shocked as CEO Seo was. His body was on top of me, and I can feel his face was on my chest. I noticed how his ears turned red as he could not lift his head out of embarrassment.

But just right then, the door clicked open.

I froze.

Both of us immediately stood up and polished ourselves, messy hair, and outfit. I turned to look at the man who was right at the door, clearly confused and awkward as we are.

It was CEO Kim's Secretary.

"Secretary Pyo," CEO Seo's ears were still red, he said as he scratched his head and approached his secretary by the door. "You came right on time,"

"Sorry," he apologized and put on a puzzled expression. "I didn't know you had a visitor,"

CEO Seo laughed awkwardly, "I sent you a message in Kakao Talk that you can go first and that I'll drive myself to my apartment,"

"Sorry," Secretary Pyo then laughed stiffly, "It's just that I didn't know Miss Suji was your visitor for tonight. I'm going now so please go back and continue what you were doing." He turned to nod at me, "I'm going first, Miss Suji."

Secretary Pyo closed the door while CEO Seo approached the shattered frame. I bent down and tried to pick the broken picture frame, but CEO Seo grabbed my wrist to stop me.

"No, I'll be the one who's going to pick these up." he spoke as he kneeled beside me and looked at me in the eye, "Let's continue what we're doing,"

"Sir?" I tensed up as I heard his suggestion, "C-continue w-what we are d-doing?"

"Yes," he nodded. "I mean, I'd like to offer my apology for what happened earlier. Everything just happened so fast that I didn't notice that I landed on you."

I felt my cheeks blush as he said that. That was embarrassing.

"Ah, it's okay." I replied as I gave him a weak smile, "It was an accident. But may I ask why you have a picture of me when I was in college?"

"Hmm, do you wanted to know?" he asked as he was bringing the dustpan filled with broken glasses to the trash bin.

I sat down at the sofa and waited for him to get ready, "Yes."

"Ah, it's okay." I replied as I gave him a weak smile, "It was an accident. But may I ask why do you have a picture of me when I was in college?"

"Do you want to know?"

"Yes,"

"Well," he paused for a few seconds as if he was trying to find the right words to say, "I went to Kyunghee University, same as you are."

"Okay, may I ask why you still keep a picture of me on your desk?" I asked.

"It's because my feelings for you existed way back then." He replied, "Do you remember the guy who sent you letters on your locker?"

He observed my reaction as my face showed amazement.

"You are that guy?" I pointed him, shocked at his revelation. "Really?"

He nodded. When I was still a freshman in college, some guy who studied business management kept on sending me flowers and letters every week. Communicating with me like I was his long time friend, and he expressed his interest in getting to know me. I enjoyed reading the letters, but I never got the chance to know who the person was. One day in the second semester of my sophomore year, the letters stopped, and I never heard about the guy back then.

"Why did you stop writing letters to me?" I asked. I felt a sense of friendship now that he revealed that he has been eyeing me for a long time. I still have to confirm if he's the right guy fated for me, and I think my thoughts of him are changing slowly.

"May I keep it as a secret?" he said, and I nodded. "By the way, there is a special lecture about creative writing," he smiled as he scratched his neck. "On Kyunghee University, our dearest alma mater."

I laughed, "Ugh, the memories."

"I am giving a special lecture there about writing and making it into a business. Would you like to accompany me for that day?"

"Umm, when is it going to be?"

"Tomorrow," he answered. "Don't worry! It is going to be your OT."

Really? Am I going to get paid by listening and gathering information there?

Awesome!

"Call! I'm going!"

He cleaned everything while I organized the lunchboxes that I brought. After we finished everything, both of us exited the CEO's office.

"It's quite late. Why don't you let me drive you to your home?" CEO Seo turned to look at me, sitting in the passenger seat. "I'm quite worried. The alleys are quite dark."

"No-no, it's okay." I said, " The roads are narrow here. It'll be hard for you to back your car."

"Okay," he gave me a faint smile. "I am waiting for the day to come that you'll allow me to drive you to your house."

He unbuckled the seatbelt for me as I opened the car's door.

"Thank you so much, sir."

"You should really drop formalities when we're alone," he suggested.

"You are still the CEO of the company that I am working at," I replied and smiled at him. "I should keep formalities."

"Okay," he answered as I closed the door.

I watched him drive away from the alley. It's already 11 PM again. As I was walking down the road, I felt that some man is walking behind me. I tensed up as I paced slowly, clutching my purse while trying to look behind me.

"Li Suji," a familiar guy's voice called my name. I saw Seungwoo across the street running towards me. He grabbed my wrist and yelled, "RUN!"

As soon as he said that, I tried to keep up with his pace and ran as fast as possible.

As time went by, we kept running, and I felt the need to stop and catch my breath. Both of us stopped running, inhaling, and exhaling vigorously. I leaned myself on the wall near me as we were only a block away from our house.

I gave him a glare, "How come you are always around the neighborhood at this hour? Are you stalking me?"

"I went out to buy some beer," His face looked annoyed as hell. He raised his right arm and showed me the black plastic bag he was holding, "There was some sort of a weird guy following you around,"

"Yes, I know," I answered while staring at the ground.

"You know?!" He raised his voice, "But you didn't run? What do you think happened if I wasn't there?!"

"I-I was scared to run," My voice quivered, "The guy has been following me for the whole 5 minutes. Y-you, don't know how happy I was to hear you call my name earlier!"

He patted my head using his free hand, "Sorry, I didn't want to be mean. You must have been scared."

"Yes, I was," I said as I pouted, I punched his stomach lightly. "Thank you for being there,"

"It was a lucky coincidence. Why do you come home so late?" He asked, "Are you working overtime?"

"Um, yes? No?" I said. "Both?"

He eyed the lunchboxes that I was bringing, "Did you just bring homemade food to your boyfriend? How sweet,"
