A few months pass, The baby blue-haired young lady walked into the city square on her way back to the adventurers guild. Dressed up like a seasoned hunter she strode confidently towards the guild. Boom! The young lady went flying a few feet, sprawled onto the dirty ground and she hastily got up to see who attacked her.
A youthful face with golden locks of hair smiled warmly at her, holding her hand rubbing it as if she had just punched a brick wall. Dyllis glared daggers "Who are you, noble madam?" Dyllis questioned, her eyes trailing over her outerwear. Even though she wanted to beat her to a pulp just for smacking her out of nowhere, she couldn't. All of the people nearby could be caught in the crossfire.
Her eyes flashed with amusement "I am duchess Chu'a Esther Mallory" smirking directly at me, by now a crowd of individuals surrounded them waiting for the scene to unfold. Dyllis clicked her tongue in annoyance 'Killing a duchess would make it much more difficult for me, plus with all of these people here today I will become the suspect of his death. I am not even done with my preparations yet' She thought angrily.
"May I ask why your lordship has struck me?" She clutched the side of her cheek that turned slightly pink from the attack. Tears welled up in her eyes immediately "I wanna see how strong you really were and it seems like you will be perfect for the job" He claps his hands together. She laughed inside her head 'See how strong I am yeah right, she smells like death usually those types of people are into some necromancy bullshit' she ranted, inside her mind.
"How about we go rent a room and have a private chat?" Dyllis suggested, still with tears prickling at the corners of her eyes. Wiping away the tears, she looked at the noble sternly "That's fine with me sweetheart" she replied, the cannibal walked inside the guild ignoring her remark. Dyllis paid for a small room and leisurely sat onto the soft sofa.
The duchess followed behind her, forcing her guards to stay outside the room "So what's this job that you want me to do" the cannibal asked with irritation. The duchess played with her golden locks of hair ignoring the tone of voice from Dyllis. "I want you to enter the castle and assassinate the fourth prince," Duchess Chu'a stated plainly.
The cannibal laughed out loud "I ain't no hitman" Dyllis tried to smack down the request not wanting to kill another imperial prince. 'I was able to kill the ice fae prince because winter faes don't care about killing their children unless they only have one Her eyes narrow in mockery at the Duchess "I think you would like to kill as he is gaining onto you" She stated plainly.
Dyllis's iris turned into slits "What do you know about me?" Dyllis sharp gazed pierce deep into the duchess Chu'a soul. "They had found out that humans that practice cannibalism had taken over a few small towns and villages. They had found a trace of you being inside those towns as well" She stated matter-of-factly.
The wendigo Shaman looked at the duchess suspiciously. "Why haven't you handed me to the guards?" Something about this duchess rubbed her the wrong way. The Duchess grinned at her question "I honestly don't care how you or your people live their life" She replied simply.
"If you rat me out, I will send one of my clan's members after you" Dyllis growled out, stomping on her way out "Before you forget here's all of the information that you need about the prince" Duchess Chu'a handed an elegant piece of paper. The wendigo shaman snatched the paper away and put it inside her storage without a second glance at it.
Huffing in anger Dyllis walked towards a local restaurant to grab a cup of coffee, sitting in her private booth she pulled out the paper and read over it. 'The fourth prince will try to approach you to try to find out more if you are behind the disappearance, You can kill him in any way possible, eat 'normal-looking food in front of him' Staring into the stupid paper she grumbled it up and store it away once more.
"Excuse me is this spot taken," A masculine voice asked politely, the wendigo shaman focused her attention on this noble-looking man 'How convenient that the prey came crawling to me. I am sorry sir you must be a good man or whatnot but I can't have you ruining my plans' she thought while staring at the man with judgemental eyes.
"Is there no place else to sit?" she answered his question with another question of her own, he gave her a sheepish look "That seems to be it" He replied looking slightly embarrassed. Dyllis sighed "If it can't be helped, you may share this booth with me" she gave him her permission, just as the waiter arrived with black coffee and placed it down in front of her.
"Sir, what would you like to order?" the waiter asked with a profincally smile "I would like some strawberry shortcake and a cup of jasmine tea" He spoke politely to the waiter and passed him a few coins as a tip. The waiter kept his composer. "Thank you, sir and ma'am, I'll be right back with your food and drink soon" excusing himself he left me alone with this fourth prince.
"My name is Eric Valentine, may I have the honor of knowing your name miss?" He introduced himself with a gentle smile. She reached out her hand, he took his hands into hers "The name is Dyllis Smallwood, I am just an adventurer" Dyllis replied curtly with no expression on her features.
She slowly sipped her coffee and took out a book from thin air to read, the book is called 'Delta wars' She flipped through the pages lazily. Taking in much-needed knowledge "What kind of missions do you take on?" he asked out of nowhere. Dyllis licked her finger, turning a page "I mostly just clear out bandits forts" replying curtly not even looking up from her book.
Eric keeps on watching her body language constantly, from what he can tell she is quite clearly not in the mood to chit-chat and finds his presence annoying. Usually, by now girls would stare at him like a puppy. Unlike Dyllis who found him uninteresting 'Princes are annoying and a whole lot of pain to deal with' she sighed and finished her coffee "It was somewhat pleasant sharing this table with you but I must take my leave now" Dyllis gave a slight bow, showing respect to someone of high standing.
She left the city and sat on a stump waiting, figures dressed fully in black watched her up from the trees. Dyllis lazily looked around pretending she didn't notice the eavesdroppers at all. A small child approached Dyllis, this child was one of the wendigo children named Alisa Quartz, Dyllis immediately smiled and picked up the child. Alisa's face beamed like a beacon "Mommy! Mother says you have to come home soon!" Alisa exclaimed with excitement.
'Sorry for asking for you to act like this Alisa' Dyllis apologized telepathically 'It's alright Lady Dyllis! It's fun' She exclaimed happily telepathically. Dyllis plopped Alisa to her hip "Let's go see your charming mother then Alisa" Dyllis's face became gentle losing her aloof appearance.
She walked all the way to a well-kept cottage covered with black flowers, Tobca opened the door with an apron on, she looked like her usual self except she wore different clothing that she usually wears. The cannibal placed down Alisa who ran into Tobca arms "Is the food ready?!" acting like an innocent child she beamed at Tobca "Yes, I have just finished preparing both of your meals" the water fae patted the young wendigo head and walked inside followed by Dyllis.
The stalkers felt like they weren't supposed to witness such a scene, they continued to observe the 'loving family' for a few more hours not noticing anything out of the ordinary. They left leaving the trio alone "Tobca how was everything from your search?" Dyllis immediately got into the business.
