Chapter 1 - Prologue

The moon shines against the street lights. Gunshots can be heard from a few blocks away. No one seems to be up this late at night. The few that were awake at such a late hour. One being a girl quickly packing to leave for college. Her brown hair tied up to not distract her from the problem at hand. All her thing already packed for in the corner of the room. The only problem she has is a way of getting out of the house without her supposed father notice.

The girl's pacing brought her little sister to her bedroom door. The little girl was wearing a light blue pajama set while holding a pink teddy bear. She was concerned for her big sister's well being.

"Zaza, what's going on?" The young girl says to her sister. "Are we going somewhere?"

The girl stops pacing and and looks at her sister. She really wanted to take the young girl with her. But she knew it couldn't be done. There was so much that she had to know before taking her sister.

"Zeena, I have to leave for college," the older girl says.

"But I don't want you to go."

"Zeena I won't be gone for that long."

"But I don't want you to go. Daddy keeps bringing people around while mom in the hospital."

The older girl goes up to her sister and hugs her. She knew that leaving her sister with their father wasn't the best idea. But how else will she find herself. Their father didn't like her and her mother is in the hospital in critical condition.

"You know I can't take you with me."

The young girl nods while tears slowly fall down her eyes. The older girl kisses her forehead and motions the young girl to her bedroom. It was time for the older girl to leave for the day anyway.

The moon still shines bright as the girl leaves the house with only a book bag and the clothes on her back. She didn't have much to lose that much is from leaving.
