A long sigh left Lucas's mouth as he tried to concentrate on his training, but something still nipped at the back of his mind.
"So you're telling me, Bigfoot is real?" Lucas asked his mother, who was sitting on the porch with a glass of lemonade and some black shades protecting her eyes.
"Yes. They are real." Elizabeth groaned as she rubbed her temple, trying to let her hangover pass. After everything that happened with Amay, she found herself drinking a little too much the night before. She tried to have a nice easy day but did not expect her son to start asking her questions while overseeing his training.
"But Bigfoot?" Lucas, skeptical, asked while still trying to wrap his mind around it. "How could a creature that big actually existed?"
"Why are you having a hard time believing this?" Elizabeth responded as she was trying to focus. She was baffled that this was the one thing her son didn't believe in. "I've seen one for myself and even hunted one down."
"Because it's Bigfoot! I have a harder time believing a giant ape-like creature existing in the woods than everything else. How do you explain all the blurry photos and such?" Lucas asked, turning his head back to look at his mom.
"That's because of the effects of the most Demi-Humans themselves, which is named the Cryptic Vision. If a being like a Demi-Human was to reveal themselves, and if you were to try to take the picture, it would become very blurry and out of focus. Hell, they might not even show up at all. It's also known as the BIGFOOT Effect." Elizabeth explained in an annoyed tone and gestured with her hands. "If you don't believe me, try to take a photo of Amay when she's not paying attention at some point."
Lucas stopped for a moment.
"Wait is that why all those people that claim to have caught something on camera always have terrible photos of the said creature? So, wait, does that mean aliens are real?" Lucas asked, honestly surprised.
"Yes and maybe," Elizabeth said, taking a sip of her lemonade. She's seen many weird and unexplainable things in her life, but she had yet to see alien life.
"Oh. So Bigfoot is real?" Lucas asked, going back to the first topic.
Elizabeth dropped her head before grabbing the bridge of her nose. "Sometimes, I wished I swallowed you," she whispered in a low voice.
"Huh?" Lucas said as he didn't quite hear her.
"I said I love you, but you need to focus, sweetheart," Elizabeth said with a smile towards him. "The longer you take to tap into and get ahold of your magical energy, the longer it will take for us to get your real training started." She added on as she looked over to see Amay and Martha fighting hand to hand at another part of the field.
"Oh. Okay." Lucas said, turning back around to close his eyes as he let his body try to relax. He began to focus on the nothingness that surrounded him to clear his mind properly.
"Breathe in and breathe out." Lucas thought to himself as he decided to focus on his breathing instead. "I need to relax and try to feel the connection to the earth," he thought as he continued his breathing. His ears slightly popped as he could feel a light breeze flow past him.
Lucas then felt a warm sensation come over him as he continued to focus on his breathing. That sensation started in his chest as it slowly flowed into his arms, legs and slowly made its way to his head. As he allowed it to flow through his body, he could feel that light breeze blow by him again before slowly circling him.
As Amay blocked Martha's leg strike with her hands, she stuck at her leg with two fingers trying to hit key points in it. Martha could feel the jabs and spin her whole body, allowing her resting leg to lift off the ground and strike Amay. This knocked her off her guard and caused her to stumble sideways, trying to catch her balance. Martha noticed this as her body came to a stop, so she landed on her stomach in a push-up position. She quickly got to her feet and quickly closed the distance between them.
Amay's eyes were forced as she saw the first fist coming. Using the back of her left hand, she was able to redirect Martha's punch barely to graze her face and go through her hair. Amay using her opponent's momentum against them quickly turned around and used her right arm to grasp Martha's hand. Amay used the muscles in her leg and back to support her as she lifted her heavier opponent off the ground.
A look of shock came across Martha's face as she realized what had happened and hit the group with a thump. She could feel the blow in the back of her head as she looked up at her sparring partner with a look of surprise and admiration.
Amay began to giggle as she felt like something in her back had popped. While the move was reckless, she was pleased with the shocked expression on Martha's face. She stood back up, trying to pop her back while she was taking in a deep breath.
"You are heavy," Amay said through deep breaths. "Ouch. I should not have done that."
Martha jumped back to her feet as she quickly turned around to look at her struggling partner. "Turn around. " Martha said, knowing exactly what was going on.
"Oh, okay," Amay was surprised but did as Martha instructed. She let out a small yeep as she felt herself being lifted off the ground. She then heard a few audible pops from her back as Martha had fixed her back for her before placing her back onto the ground. "By the Divine Serpents," Amay said, absolutely flabbergasted.
"Is your back still hurting?" Martha asked in her monotoned voice.
"Actually....no," Amay told her, completely amazed.
"Good." Martha said before grabbing Amay by her waist again and lifting her fully off the ground as hard and fast as possible before the poor girl realized what had happened.
Amay let out a confused and scared cry as she then felt herself being thrown into the air before silently hit the ground hard. The back of her head and neck were the first to make contact before her body hit, bounced, and landed flat on the grass. A loud wheezing sound left Amay mouth as the pain kicked in, and she was hurting from every spot in her body. Especially on her back.
Elizabeth had spit out some lemonade as she had watched what had happened. She began to rub her own neck and shoulder as if she could feel it. Part of her was glad Martha landed that German suplex perfectly, but the other wish she didn't learn that in the first place.
Martha got up and looked at her possibly dead-sparing partner before going over to check if she was alright. Martha gave Amay a slight poke with her toe to Amay's side and could hear a slight groan come from her.
Martha let out a sigh as she picked up the light Demi-human by her waist and carried her slumped body back towards the house. As they got closer, Martha stopped in her tracks and looked at Lucas. She could see that he was deep in meditation and could see the light blue tent surrounded him as he continued to focus on his breathing.
Amay's head slightly moved up while her nose twitch as she could sense it as well. She was barely able to open her eye, but she noticed how focus he was. He was almost a completely different person. Yet it wasn't the same as the one she saw that night, but it felt close to it.
This even got the attention of Elizabeth, who watched her son intensely, as she wasn't sure what to expect.
"Breathe in and out." Lucas thought to himself as he felt the world around him fade away as he continued to focus on this simple thing. His mind began to play different thoughts though out his mind. It started peacefully, but they quickly began to turn dark as he remembered all the times he felt so helpless and angry. He thought about how his boss harassing him, picking on him, and how he embarrassed him. That anger he felt, that hatred he kept buried so far down. Then his so-called friends from school.
Elizabeth, Amay, and Martha watched as Lucas's aura slowly grew as sparks began to raise and lash out. The sparks pulsated as his anger rose to where they flew out towards his family and the house.
"All those times, I felt useless. All those times, people have used me. All Those Times, I Felt Powerless. I Will Make Them Pay. I Will Show Them I Am Not Weak!" Lucas's inner voice began to speak as his aura and energy cause the ground to somewhat shake as bolts of electricity began to burn the ground. His aura then continued to wider and wider as he dove deeper into his anger.
"I WILL PROVE THEM WRONG! I WILL SHOW THEM ALL MY POWER!!" Lucas's voice began to roar inside his head. Before he fell any deeper, he saw the light and a warm sensation coming from behind him. The beast inside him stopped its roars as it listened to a soft voice calling back to him. The voice softly spoke to him and worked as his guide to bring him back to normality.
Amay and Martha both watched as Elizabeth quickly got off of the porch and onto the ground where her son was. She could feel his energy and quickly wrapped her hands around Lucas and held him close to her. She began to whisper into his ear and almost rocked him back and forth, trying to soothe him.
Amay watched as tears had filled Lucas's eyes as his aura began to lower and fade away as Lucas slowly came back to Elizabeth.
"What happened?" Lucas said, looking up to see his mom holding him like a child, and both Amay and Martha look at him with worried stares. "Did I miss something?" He asked, looking down and the blackened glass he was sitting on.
"He doesn't remember it." All of them said to themselves.
"You just had a moment, that's all," Elizabeth said, downplaying the events as she smiled down at him. As she slowly let him go as she straightened up to examine him. "Sweetheart...Tell me, what do you remember?" She asked curiously with a nervous look in her eyes.
Lucas sat up as he began to look at his mom and turning to look around confused as Martha still held Amay in her arm. "Well, I remember meditating as you told me, and I thought of something. But I remember suddenly becoming angry. And then it suddenly went any. " Lucas explained while scratching his head before letting out a deep yawn.
"Man. I'm tired." He said, looking back at his mom. He then noticed her hand. "Oh my God. Is your hand alright?"
Elizabeth didn't realize that her hand had a massive cut on it and was bleeding. She didn't feel the pain as her adrenaline kicking in. "Oh. I must have cut it coming down from the porch. Don't worry; I'll be fine. Say. how would you like to learn how to fight tomorrow or if I meditation with you tomorrow? " She said, quickly changing the topic as a white aura engulfed her hand and began to heal it.
"Sure. That would be nice." Lucas yawned as he got up. "Alrighty. I'm gonna go take a nap."
"Okay, sweetie. I'm ordering take-out tonight." Elizabeth said as she smiled at Lucas as he walked towards the house and closed the door behind him. When he was fully gone, a long sigh left Elizabeth's mouth as she turned her head to look at both Martha and Amay, who were just as lost as she was at what just happened.
"That is not what I saw that night. That was completely different." Amay said, seeing the same visible look of confusion on their face. "Oh yeah. Can you let me go," she said, poking Martha's side.
Martha didn't say anything as she dropped Amay without hesitating. Her mind was trying to figure out what exactly happened to her brother.
"Ouch," Amay said as she barely caught herself from the ground.
"His training just became a little more complicated," Elizabeth said, trying to figure out her next step.
