"Call me back when she wakes up," the manly voice almost made Klavier deaf. The grey-haired teen rolled his eyes as he distanced the phone from his lobes before twisting his index finger inside to soothe his rattled eardrums.
Nodding his head exaggeratedly, he just responded "Noted,"— then pressed the big red end button before slouching himself on the couch where Racquel appeared gloomy and depressed from the earlier events.
The news on the flat-screen television added to their stress in the situation as they listened carefully after the nurse cranked up the volume. A brunette news reporter narrated the incident where another body was found in the burned garden. The newly found victim was connected to the other two cases, the body was reported to be Terrier Manox, a 43-year-old security guard of the most successful hotel county and landmark in France: Jardin d'Eden.
Since the body count leveled up to three, the case was considered a serial killing case by the court of investigations led by Easton Broshe. He reportedly said that the killer gave him a hard time because of the flawless execution, but it was nothing compared to the English lessons he needed to attend to pass the civil service licensure exams.
"Boo! Man Brat!" Klavier cheered before tossing a roll of the toilet paper to aim for Easton's smug face on-screen.
The report was consumed by the Investigator bragging about his deduction skills and knowledge. But at the end of the report, one interviewer asked Easton about the state of the killer. He said something that made the crowd behind him clap and cheered—
The killer already admitted to the crime and was facing 3 conviction cases...
After a few measly minutes through the report, Romien requested the remote from the nurse then turned it off before removing the batteries. With a confused look, the nurse left and appointed the medicines to Romien.
Racquel looked up and directed her gaze at the brown-haired boy sitting on the plastic chair beside the hospital room bed where her unconscious best friend lays. The look on Romien's face was nothing like his usual mild and approachable features, his eyes became sharp with his eyebrows furrowed closer to each other.
The blonde girl looked down and muttered lowly, "Oh god. This is my fault!"
Her soft volume was not safe from Klavier's auditory senses, he derived from gossiping too much in their owned Subdivision in the Philippines, "Hell yeah, girl!" Klavier seconded as Racquel looked at him, "Of all times you could have said that you still loved that son of a bitch, you chose this day! "
Racquel moaned and covered her face in deep shame, "I can't help it. It was just a spur of the moment. I didn't know what to say!" she complained about her insensitiveness, "If you were in my shoes, I'm sure you would have said something worse than I did!"
Offended by his best friend's assumption, Klavier crossed his arms before enumerating the things he would have said if he was in the girl's position in the same scenario while Racquel sank deeper in her seat.
"Raine, how about Starbucks?" Klavier imitated her voice, "We should talk this over a hot macchiato topped with whip cream..."
Romien could hear them clearly as he tried to wait for the sleeping girl to wake up. It's too bad that her prince wasn't here to kiss her.
"Raine, let me buy you another Gucci carnation patterned belt so I could make it up to you..."
Klavier went on with the list until the fingers on both of his hands were all used in counting. His resourceful ego used his toes as part two of his list. Beside him was the blonde girl who was thrown to hell purely because of his lists of reasonable responses she could have said to make their interaction earlier if not offensive, less daunting.
"Raine, I'm sorry and I regretted the things I've done. What can I do for you to repent my sins and wash them all away?" he finished all his toes.
Before he could even start another series by borrowing her fingers, he shushed the boy and put a throw pillow on the couch over his face, "Alright! I'm a terrible whore, I get it!"
"Mhmm—I don't know about whore," Klavier sounded like he was pushing Racquel off the edge of her temper, "How about slut?— Slut fits you better!"
The two fought by throwing throw pillows at each other. Racquel was helpless against the millennium years of pillow fight championship wins of the male opponent. Klavier continuously attacked the poor blonde on her unprotected spots while making fun of how he squeaks in every attack he makes.
An annoyed teen across the room called their attention and made them stop, "Gals!" Romien reasoned, "Will you keep quiet?! Raine is sleeping..."
Klavier noticed the boy's change of tone so, he stood up and stride to settle himself beside Romien. He looked angry while scrolling through the news feed of his browser. Klavier refocused his stare at the girl laying on the bed and realized how many times had he seen Raine on a hospital bed, "How many times do we have to take this sleeping beauty in a hospital?" He giggled bubbly before lightly pinching Raine's pale cheeks, "I swear that if Raine was confined in two more hospital travels, I'll buy her a clinic inside her dorm!"
Romien sighed and removed the other male's fingers from the sleeping girl's face, "Klavier! Shut up! Not all things will be fixed by your humor and money," his intimidating look opposites the soft and gentle tone of his voice.
"Well you don't know this girl," Klavier pointed at Racquel and laughed.
The other two teens syncing their vexation towards their hardheaded friend, shouted, "Shut up!"
Klavier went silent and smirked when he got a bit of sense of what happened between the two.
"Whoah! Keep it down, lovers..." he put his hands up in defense and sat on the spare space on Raine's side before taking notice at Romien's new face formation, "Someone's a little glum today, huh?"
"Clearly, I am," Romien answered, but has no appetite to gobble the conversation with Klavier so, he changed the subject, "So please, can we not talk about it and just focus that there is another body in the garden!"
"Who the fuck is killing all these people?" Racquel exclaimed before hugging the paper bag, containing her stiletto heals closely on her chest.
"Klavier's calm and pretty jolly— maybe he knows," Romien threw the comeback just to get revenge on the other male teen in the room.
"Excuse me," Klavier gasped in offensively, "Romien, I don't like the tone in your voice. What are you suggesting?"
The room was silent as Romien decided not to answer.
"Are you blaming me?" Klavier finally asked.
Romien leaned closer to the mad teen, and smirked before saying, "Your words, not mine..."
Klavier took Romien by the collar, made him stand up before pushing him against the wall, "Well, I think you're the one who did it!"
The cocky faced Romien asked, "What's your proof?"
"Well— you, You," Klavier stuttered, but still poking on Romien's chest with his middle finger.
Everyone waited for his answer, but all that they saw were the veins evidently showing themselves on the sides of his forehead.
Throwing his hand in defeat, Romien was released from his collar grasping hands, he cried, "Fuck it! You're innocent!"
Racquel rolled her eyes and grunted at the short argument happening between the two when she noticed Raine getting up from her bed.
"It's Raine," The blonde friend stood up from the couch and walked closer to the bed.
The other two surrounded the bed like they were barricades on World War II, Klavier asked and stroked Raine's silky straight black hair, "Hey baby girl, how are you feeling?"
Raine stood from the bed and instantly said, "I need to see Sir Edward...'
All of their confused faces, amused each other when they looked at each other's faces as they noticed the strangest thing that happened so far, "Wait, why?"
"I need to talk to him," Raine answered as she was putting her flats.
Without knowing how to adjust his own volume, Klavier said, "This is new. She wasn't looking for Saccharide,"— then both his friends looked at him like he was a real bothersome in their lives. They weren't supposed to know that Saccharide was in jail because they already held him accountable for the cases of homicide.
Raine saw how nervously they looked when they turned to look at her. She queried after regaining a straight posture, "Why? Where is he?"
The three giggled nervously.
"Nice going, Klavier!"
Racquel punched Klavier's arms before reckoning him to deliver Raine the answer, "Well, baby girl. Saccharide was—"
