The remaining four days passed by in the blink of an eye and now it was time for the business meeting between Xia Jiaying and Long Ning. For the princess, this was a crucial time for her. Even though Tang Yazhu suggested helping her, she did not accept the gesture. She wanted to show her efforts and not gain a strong backer just because of the close connection between them.
For the past few days, Xia Jiaying has been spending a lot of time with Tang Yazhu to ask her for some pointers that could bring out more positive points about her business proposal.
When Tang Yazhu saw the enthusiasm of Xia Jiaying, she started feeling proud - simply because the princess did not huge her thighs straight away to take the shortcut and gain the signature of Long Ning.
Tang Yazhu and Long Ning sat on the back seats of a black Mercedes Maybach while Fu Chao was sitting on the front passenger seat. In fact, only Long Ning and Xia Jiaying were to head to Prima Pearl Hotel where the business meeting would be conducted. However, Tang Yazhu continuously insisted on going with them, so they had no choice but to comply with her.
"Is it really alright to let the princess go ahead of us? What if there's an ambush waiting for her?" Tang Yazhu asked with worry in her voice.
Just a little after Xia Jiaying left, they also followed out of the mansion to go to the venue.
"It would be bad for her if others saw her with us. There would also be conflicts when we sign the deal," Long Ning told her in order to remove her worries.
Aside from the Xia Kingdom, there was also another party that wanted to sign a deal with him: the Kingdom of Shi.
"Don't worry about her safety. The security guards I've assigned to her are top-notch," Long Ning assured her and looked at her face that showed that she was still very worried.
Long Ning did not want Tang Yazhu to come along due to the fact that the assassins were still targeting Xia Jiaying, and because she had already become entangled with them. He wished for her to always remain and stay safe. However, since she was unwilling to stay at home unless the princess was safe, he could only relent.
"What's wrong? Why are you looking so gloomy?" Tang Yazhu asked when she saw his expression getting ugly.
Right when Long Ning was about to open his mouth to answer, a parade of gunshots began to fire at their car.
"Boss, we're being attacked!" Fu Chao shouted just as the car swiveled on the road, and Long Ning embraced Tang Yazhu to have the both of them ducking inside of the car.
"Ahh!" Tang Yazhu screamed and placed both of her hands on her two ears to prevent herself from hearing those shots.
Naturally, she was acting. Otherwise, how would she prove that she was truly a helpless little girl that was traumatized from killing others not too long ago?
"Fuck!" Long Ning could not help but curse loudly.
Long Ning was afraid that something would happen and trigger Tang Yazhu to go into a state of disheveling - after all, she was already traumatized from one event.
There were three black cars following them that was constantly raining firing at them. No matter how bulletproof their car was, they could not hide inside forever. Just at that moment, the tire of the car was hit with a bullet and the car ran to a stop.
The two cars that belonged to the special bodyguards of Long Ning immediately rushed out to shield the main car from being tortured by the rain of bullets from the other party, knowing how dangerous the situation was for their boss and for Tang Yazhu who was currently with them.
As soon as they got into position, they took out their guns and started firing back. This also caused the other three cars to stop and exchange blows with the guards.
"Stay in the car and don't leave, alright?" Long Ning told his wife before taking a gun out from under the car seat.
At the same time, Fu Chao also took out a gun and made his way out to see which bastards these people were that were really wanting to die and be sent on their way to hell.
"Hey! Where are you going?! Don't tell me you're going out too!? No! Stay here!" Tang Yazhu cried out to him and clung onto his arms, not letting go and holding tightly.
It would be better if Tang Yazhu was the one to finish off those bastards that were brave enough to attack them. However, she knew that she could not make her move, knowing that she had already shown a few of her colors after killing those six bastards back at the hotel.
During this time, Tang Yazhu could not believe that she would be able to act like this. However, she had no choice! She could not let Long Ning go out to face them! If they dared to hurt him, she would literally wipe out the face of those bastards from the earth and not leave even a scrap of memory remain!
"Don't worry. I'll be okay. They're just a bunch of ants asking for death," Long Ning assured her while ending his statement with a cold voice.
No matter how Tang Yazhu clung onto him, Long Ning simply brushed off her hands and made his way out of the car.
Getting out of the car, his murderous intent flowed dramatically from his body and caused the other bodyguards to tremble.
'Boss is really mad right now!' was the thought that every guard had.
As soon as his gun was raised, he fire some shots that sent a few of the enemies to their deaths.
At the same time, the other party also got out of their cars while continuously firing non-stop. They had to get the girl no matter what or else the higher-ups would skin them alive.
Inside of the car, Tang Yazhu wanted to rush out so badly and kill them with her itching hands. These people just do not learn their lessons!
Tang Yazhu really wanted to peek out a little to see who these bastards were that were desperately calling out for death.
"Shit!" Tang Yazhu cursed out when she saw who the bastards were.
They were familiar to her!
'What the hell are they doing here?!' Tang Yazhu could not help but mutter and curse non-stop in her head.
Those people were none other than the bastards belonging to the emperor! They were all part of his secret hidden bodyguards!
That damn prince could not have hired them because they were not people that could be hired! Only one thing came into her mind.
There were not here for the princess, but for her!
"Fuck! Don't tell me my identity is already leaked?!" Tang Yazhu cursed once again.
This is bad! To even manage to make that shit of an emperor make his move is not a good sign for her! Who the hell leaked out that she is still the same person?! Even if the soul belonged to her, the body did not!
Her corpse should already be at her organization! What the hell is this?! So much for "living a quiet life!"
"Ahh! Damn it! Whatever! I don't care anymore!" Tang Yazhu silently screamed in a frustrated tone and ran out of the car before quickly taking two guns from a nearby bodyguard.
The bodyguards that just had their guns snatched did not know how to react. They only saw a sliver of platinum blonde hair and then, the guns in their hands disappeared.
The instant that the other party saw the person who they have been waiting for, their eyes shone brightly and they all stopped shooting - for fear that if they accidentally shot and wounded her, the emperor would cut them into a thousand pieces.
However, they did not know that goddess of hell had descended upon them not to follow after them, but to send them to hell.
Long Ning did not know what just happened. Only, he saw that Tang Yazhu had walked in between the two sides as though she was sending herself to the enemies.
"REN BAO!" Long Ning angrily shouted, calling out her full name to demonstrate just how angry he was.
Then, he ran right to where she was standing, not wanting to see her get killed. However, just right then, everything changed. Tang Yazhu started firing shots, taking two lives in an instant.
The other party that was rejoicing that they could finally go back and send her to the emperor were all thrown into a massacre.
'What?! Why's the empress killing us?!' they all internally screamed.
'Doesn't she know us? Why?' they all questioned.
Before the party could understand what was happening, Tang Yazhu had already killed some of them. Blood was shown in her cold blue eyes, and she walked like the goddess of death returning from the fiery pits of hell.
"Emp-" someone called out right before dying.
Before that person could shout the name, "Empress," Tang Yazhu shot him straight through the heart. She did not want him to utter such a despicable name in front of her.
Long Ning and his companions were so shocked that their jaws were hanging open. They just witnessed a scene that showed how brutal and ruthless their lady was. They needed a moment to think twice if she was still their lady boss!
After a few seconds, Long Ning finally realized that the remaining enemies were already dead and lying coldly on the ground. He could not believe what just fucking happened!
Fu Chao did not know how to react either. Although he knew that Tang Yazhu had killed six people before… Seeing her in action like this made him want to recite in his brain not to provoke this killing goddess!
"Bao'er," Long Ning quietly called out.
Then, Tang Yazhu turned back to look at Long Ning, prepared to use her acting skills once again.
When she turned around and saw his complicated expression, her cold eyes immediately changed into fear and she looked at the guns in her hands. Instantly, they fell to the ground.
"I… I… No… I didn't…" Tang Yazhu stammered while stepping back and trembling as she looked at both of her hands.
Then, she looked back at Long Ning with tears in her eyes while he made his way to her.
"No! Stop! Don't come near me!" Tang Yazhu shouted in fear as she took a few steps away from him.
"Bao'er, it's okay. Don't be afraid," Long Ning carefully chose his words.
Long Ning did not understand how she could turn from the target into the hunter. However, that was not important. The most important thing that was Tang Yazhu could lose a sense of herself after experiencing what just happened.
"No! I… I… killed… killed… again!" Tang Yazhu continued to scream with fear in her voice as her tears fell down like a waterfall.
"No, you saved us, okay?" Long Ning tried his best to coax her, going near her step by step as he was afraid that she would run away.
"Hubby… I'm sorry… I'm sorry…" Tang Yazhu cried and slumped to the ground, crying for what she had just done.
She was not sorry to the people she just killed. Instead, she was sorry to Long Ning as he would now always think back on this scene.
Long Ning simply pulled the slumping girl into his arms, not wanting her to catch a cold. He may be confused, but he was not angry at her actions.
"Stop crying now. It's alright. I know you didn't mean to do it," Long Ning continued to coax her into relaxing.
When he heard that she was not crying anymore and took a look at her face, he saw that she had fainted. Thus, he carried her back into a car that was not destroyed.
"Fu Chao, I want a detailed investigation on those people. Attend the business meeting for me. You already know what to do," Long Ning instructed as he put the girl in the car to head home.
Fu Chao and the bodyguards were left alone on the bloody road. They could not explain what just happened…
Everything was too sudden that it made their hearts tremble, especially seeing their lady being in such a state. However, before leaving, all they could do was to clean up the place and hide the questions in their hearts.
