Chapter 7 - Marriage

A week has passed since Tang Yazhu has woken up and the only thing she could do was to eat, take some medicine, and wait for Long Ning before going to sleep to start the cycle all over again. Everything felt as though they were on a constant repeat, making her feel bored as she was forced to continue to stay in the hospital room without being able to leave to even take a walk.

Currently, she was reading a Japanese book that Long Ning was reading a few days ago. The content of the book was all about business management and she was amazed at herself for being so talented at reading and understanding different languages. Despite Japanese being a hard language to learn - especially since the book had many hard words and literature - she was still able to comprehend everything.

Long Ning was not in her room at the moment since he had an important matter to deal with. Thus, she was all alone in her hospital room - what she considered to be super boring. Previously, she still had Fu Chao to entertain her as his wide expressions of shock and surprise made her feel that she was a novelty he had never seen before.

At the same time, she also had the very quiet Young Master Long who would constantly read by her bedside or peel and cut up some fruits for her to eat. They had a silent life, but also a very fulfilling life as they used only their eyes to communicate with each other.

Now, she did not even have the expressive assistant to laugh at or to even experience the romantic aura of her love with the young master. She really wanted to cry, but had no tears that were willing to fall for such a stupid reason.

While thinking about how bored she was, she remembered how Fu Chao was on the verge of tears as he begged her to have Long Ning go to the company for a business proposal that was worth $15 billion; that was some really big money that they needed to deal with.

Suddenly, Tang Yazhu heard a knock on the door.

'Who would visit me at this moment?' Tang Yazhu thought inwardly before shouting out, "Come in!"

Then, she saw a woman in a royal blue dress who was holding a basket of fruits in her hands. When Tang Yazhu went through her memories, she finally recalled that this woman was Yin Nuyin - the best friend of Ren Bao.

Well, now she was her best friend though! After all, Ren Bao has left now and she has replaced the original soul. Whoever was her friend and enemy, were now her friend and enemy.

Though, to be honest, she did not mind having a lot of enemies. In her previous life, her enemies were wide and spread out - being almost everywhere. It was too simple to live with the world hunting her down.

"Yinyin, you came!" Tang Yazhu said in a happy voice.

In the organization, she was only close to the three boys while the rest could only be considered her colleagues. As for the ladies, they all hated her and loved to challenge her whenever an opportunity arose - mostly when she had no work to do.

She really could not understand why the ladies hated her! In fact, she could not fathom their hatred towards her at all. Maybe she just was not the conventional female and that was why she could not understand why they hated her?

'Damn it! I should have asked Qiao Dong about why they hated me first before leaving on my mission,' Tang Yazhu internally cried out while showing a happy face on the outside in order to not perturb Yin Nuyin.

Thus, this was her first time interacting with a female friend. From the memories she received from Ren Bao, Yin Nuyin was a kind, honest, and caring friend.

In all honesty, the only friends she ever managed to make that had those three redeeming traits were her three friends. Of course, sometimes being kind never happened and sometimes being caring was absolutely in the trash. However, they definitely had their episodes of endearment with her when they were on missions with her.

"Of course! You're my best friend! Sorry that I only came to visit you now," Yin Nuyin apologized as she set the basket of fruits on the table. "Things were really busy in the restaurant, and because you weren't there, a lot of us had a lot of things to do."

"Bao-jie, after you called the boss and sent your resignation letter, the boss was very sad. She said that she could not bear to lose a talented chef. She also said that if you wanted to rest until you recovered, she was fine with that," she continued to say as she moved to sit next to Tang Yazhu.

"The boss is really sweet… but my decision to resign is final, Yinyin. Not only that, I'll be getting married soon… I… don't really want to dedicate my time to the restaurant after getting married…" Tang Yazhu said and put down the Japanese book that she was just reading earlier.

"What?! You're getting married!? I didn't know there was someone in your life!?" Yin Nuyin exclaimed with a shocked expression on her face. "Besides, I've never seen you dating before. How come you're getting married now? So unexpectedly…"

Yin Nuyin has known Ren Bao for a long time now and this was her first time hearing that her best friend actually had a man in her life. Thinking about it emotionally, she felt kind of sad - not knowing that her best friend was dating someone.

"It's… a long story and… kind of confidential. But, don't worry! You're invited to the wedding!" Tang Yazhu tried to explain as they continued to chat. "By the way, please keep my marriage a secret. Just tell her about my recovery. When the hospital releases me, I'll go talk to the boss myself and tell her everything."

At the same time, Tang Yazhu thought, 'It's a really good thing that she's here or else I'll be bored to death.'

Why? On her right hand was a cast and on her left hand was a needle from the IV. If she dared to move her hand freely and without any restrictment, she was afraid that she would be forced to stay longer or have something else done on her just so that she could "recover."

She was not scared of having surgeries or having to bear with pain. Instead, she just did not want to be forced to take any more examinations because Long Ning was worried about her or be forced to stay longer in the hospital just for one small reason. She was more than sure that if the doctor called Long Ning about how something happened to either arm, she would be forced to stay in the hospital for another month.

Once again, Tang Yazhu lamented internally, 'Good thing I have a close friend in this life now.'

_ _ _ _ _

In the conference room of the Long Corporation, the business proposal worth $15 billion was finally finished being discussed.

"Congratulations, Mr. Long! The deal has finally been sealed," one of the shareholders congratulated.

"I am looking forward to working with you in the future!" an investor shook hands with Long Ning.

After sealing the deal with the investors, Long Ning remained seated at the main seat with a blank expression on his face as though the business proposal was simply slicing a piece of cake. Well, with his experience and intelligence, the proposal would definitely be simple for him to deal with.

"Young Master, now that the deal has been dealt with, do you want to head back to the hospital now?" Fu Chao asked while walking to Long Ning when he saw that all the shareholders and investors had left the conference room.

"Mm," Long Ning nodded, feeling happy and proud when being reminded of his future wife. "Before that, call Butler Xue to clean up the bedroom next to mine. She will stay there first. Also, tell my parents and siblings about my marriage to her."

"Yes, Young Master. I will immediately pass the news on to them," Fu Chao accepted his tasks while also freaking out on the inside, 'Boss is really going to marry her!'

Fu Chao no longer tried to stop his boss. Once was already more than enough to let him know that his boss was decisive about the choice to marry this strange woman who was unknown to them. Even if they privately investigated her background, she definitely had secrets that were unknown - whether personality or external secrets such as having debts or whatnot.

While giving a hidden sigh, Fu Chao hoped that the Long family would not be too shocked by the sudden news.

At the same time, Fu Chao thought back on the will of the Old Master - the late grandfather of Long Ning. This will, only he and the young master knew; not even the family knew about the will.

When walking out of the conference room, Fu Chao shook his head. The Long family will surely think that the sun is rising from the west once they hear the news.
