Chapter 85 - Chapter 85

Zack finished gathering enough blood and gave the boars plenty of slop to reward them for their contribution. Seeing the sun starting to set he headed towards the river to check the lobster. It was still secure in its cage, and he began preparations. With a wave of his hand, the cage followed him towards the edge of the water.

Zack placed it to the side as he formed a large hole by the pavilion as he began guiding water into it. Then he morphed the normal earth into as tough as bedrock. Zack closed his eyes opening the palm of his hand forming an orb of mana. It shot into the water and rapidly began producing flames heating the water rapidly.

"Mero told me you caught one, but I thought she was lying. My mother caught one long ago, but it was a lot smaller. Cracking their shells isn't easy. " Lydia stated before embracing him.

"I was gonna leave that up to Ren unless you can. You ready to move in yet?" Zack asked returning to his task.

"I need a little more time, but I'm ready to work on a house. When is my date by the way?" Lydia teased pressing up against him.

"I'm visiting the city soon, but after that things should be back to normal," Zack said while retrieving the food.

"Did you catch all this?" Tanya asked while glancing over his shoulder.

"With Mero's help, I did. She's such a good hunter I can barely keep up with her. Could you go to the garden, and let others know it's time to eat?" Zack replied glancing around for the others.

Tanya nodded taking off towards the forest. Zack didn't want her hearing the lobster going in remembering the sound from the kitchen. He retrieved it from the water hovering it over the hole dissipating the cage. With the immense heat of the water, it was swiftly ended. The orb returned from the water to his palm.

'I'm getting the hang of using these orbs. Even Marcus had to get serious to break my dragon. I wonder how it will work with my grace.'

Zack's wings appeared as the orb turned golden, and another one manifested next to it. He closed his eyes tuning out his surroundings. As his body drifted into a state of clarity he could sense everyone within the city. People began returning through the array, and he could feel Mero working her way from the sea.

During his cultivation through recovery, Zack realized how unique his magic was. He could recreate the orbs from his angel form, and the mana quality in them was unmatched. When fighting Modestus infusing his magic, and grace was a heat of the moment attempt. He never knew such a thing was possible, but that revelation helped to advance his powers.

Having his wings back Zack's grace could flow freely, and he was able to test his theory. One of the orbs turned into a bright white flame illuminating the area around him. The other turned into a solid piece of earth with the weight of a mountain, and the density of the earth's crust grinding together violently.

Zack opened his eyes examining the power inside each orb. Naomi appeared sensing a familiar sensation. She thought there was some sort of mistake, or being pregnant was disorienting her senses.

'Holy flames!'

"How did you do that?" Namoi asked while approaching him.

"I just pictured a powerful flame that's all," Zack replied.

"I've only seen flames like that in heaven. It's used as a method of punishment for breaking our laws. Don't use that unless you wish to kill. For a human, it can burn at their soul with a simple touch. Angels can't even heal from those it's why the guilty are branded with it." Naomi cautioned while shuddering at the memories.

Zack calmed the flame rendering it into a normal one plunging it into the water. The flames were unable to be extinguished and continued to heat the water. With Lydia receiving help from the others, and the lobster finishing Zack wanted to try the other.

He flew up into the air, and Namoi followed behind Zack curious to see his abilities. He launched the orb of earth into an area void of life as the ground beneath began to rumble immensely. He recalled the orb swiftly fearing an earthquake would occur.

"Destroying the area isn't what I wanted," Zack said examing the orb.

"Destruction and creation go hand and hand. Try to control the rumbles, and imagine a hill. Keep in mind this only an observation. No angel has ever done things like this." Naomi suggested observing carefully.

Zack closed his eyes to help his focus. He recalled the feeling of creating the arena and pictured a set of rolling hills. The orb launched into the earth as the rumbling continued but gradually settled. The earth rumbled immensely as a series of hills formed reshaping the landscape. He opened his eyes recalling the orb to dissipate it.

Naomi heard the stories of former Nehphelims, but none could manage such a feat. Their power was unstable, and when they eventually exploded the damage was cataclysmic. Naomi could sense no disturbances in his power, and became puzzled over it.

When the rumors spread about Zack's impending birth no one could determine the father. Only the Archangels Azrael, Ariel, and Michael were aware of the identity and made it taboo to discuss it. Most assumed it was a lowly angel serving on earth, but with Zack's display of power that was impossible.

"Do you know anything about your parents?" Naomi investigated.

"I received a message from my mother, but she didn't mention my father much. Just that he wanted to help people, and someone helped hide us. Any idea on who intervened?" Zack asked as they flew back.

"No one from heaven and Samuel didn't know either," Naomi replied as they landed on the ground.

Zack retrieved the lobster from the water placing it on a large table as his companions arrived. They took turns greeting him and admiring his catch. Zack was surprised to see all the civilians show up considering the former hostilities.

The sun barely set, and a few of the vampires arrived with Madison and Cassandra. As Zack was greeting them Mero appeared from the water with two mermaid companions. It was a young couple named Laura, and Harvey. They were amazed to see the lobster truly dead.
