"Is there anything I can do?" Emilia asked while watching anxiously.
Cassandra ignored her trying to find other methods to heal. Nothing seemed to be working, and she couldn't use healing magic on another vampire.
"Please!" Emilia begged while grabbing Cassandra's hand.
"It would require your blood, and for these wounds, it would have to be a decent amount. It could cost you dearly if we couldn't bandage, and clean it properly in a place like this." Cassandra replied wanting her aware of the dangers.
Since the siege started Arthur has protected Emilia and treated her kindly. Even her fiance treated Emilia as something to be paraded around and gave her no respect. The thought of marrying such a man would give her depression.
She began to think all men behaved like this, but Arthur spent all his time comforting Emilia. They spoke about Emilia's problems and the burdens of being royalty. Arthur felt a connection as they were both bound by family duties. Upon that revelation, they spoke more about their families, and how they both had a parent striving for peace.
With someone to relate to, and watch over her Emilia felt safe. She had sorrow for her father's death but was already prepared for his demise. King Alfred had already lived a long life, and his time was simply coming. The healers gave him two years at most but he already became severely ill. One of the things King Alfred strived for before death was to bring unity to his people.
When talking with Arthur she realized it was still possible. Arthur wasn't to blame for his death after all. Emilia saw how kind he was, and how attacking this place hurt him. Arthur's love for his mother drove him to revenge, but once Ivan's group was killed his senses slowly began returning.
Observing the bloodshed around him caused guilt to hit, and Arthur believed he tarnished his mother's memory. Arthur told Emilia about these feelings, and how his family would see it as weak. Emilia didn't want the nights of them talking to end as she pulled a dagger from her dress.
Emilia cut her hand without hesitation dripping blood into his mouth as she clutched her hand tightly. This wasn't gonna be enough to heal Arthur completely, but it allowed his consciousness to return. Noticing her hand bleeding Arthur stopped her. Emilia ripped part of her dressing binding her hand.
"I don't wanna be alone so please take more," Emilia begged as she extends her arm towards Arthur.
"You need it, and I can't keep this up too long," Cassandra declared while halting his bleeding.
Arthur didn't understand why Emilia was crying, and desperately trying to help him. Even with their time together Arthur believed she despised him deep down. That Emilia acted kind only for protection, but he was okay with that.
Seeing the desperate look on their faces, and glancing at the hole in his gut Arthur grabbed Emilia's wrist gently. Dying here was not an option, but he would have to drink carefully. The last thing he wanted to do was take too much, and harm Emilia.
"I'm sorry," Arthur said before biting gently.
Emilia winced, and Arthur looked up with concern preparing to stop.
"It's okay I promise." Emilia smiled.
The wound in Arthur's stomach was rapidly closing due to the quality of her blood. Emilia had large amounts of mana like most nobles do, and was also a virgin. Both of these qualities caused the purity to be high, and he could feel power pumping into his veins.
Arthur let go of her hand as Cassandra focused on healing Emilia's wounds. Once she was okay Emilia embraced Arthur. She rested against his arm weary from the blood loss. Cassandra smiled seeing the two in front of them.
"This is what mother wanted," Cassandra said as tears began to form.
Outside the city, three ferals were heading down the road. They were seen by Zack's group and promptly followed. Zack was preparing to take action, but Haruna launched kunai into the ground around them.
Before the ferals could react the talismans attached to the kunai radiated mana. Flames engulfed the formation set on the ground incinerating two of them. One of the ferals managed to jump up but was quickly beheaded by Kintaro. Kintaro's kodachi was already in its sheath as the head hit the floor. Zack was impressed with their swift coordination.
'Humans can amplify their bodies with mana to some extent, but it requires immense control. To push it to that level is the first I've seen.'
"It's getting late," Kintaro stated.
"We are still waiting. Moving in carelessly could cause more trouble." Haruna replied.
"Let's hurry back," Zack said before disappearing.
Back in the castle, Madison was on her way to the king's chambers. Aleister was inside lying in wait for his visitor. As she walked inside he had a lecherous grin on his face. Madison slipped out of her white dress revealing her hourglass figure.
Madison wrapped her arms around her breast as she approached the bed. Aleister couldn't take his eyes off her magnificent hips swaying in his direction. Madison's arms could barely contain her busty figure as she stood before him. Aleister got up sitting on the edge of the bed and slipped out of his pants as he directed Madison closer.
"Move your hands," Aleister demanded pulling her in.
Madison did as she was told as he groped her breast roughly. She let out a slight moan as he began sucking on her chest. He started fingering her roughly as Madison pulled him close to her stomach.
Aleister was already hard, and an impatient man. Once Madison was wet he tossed her on the bed. Before she could react he bent her over slamming his cock in her. Madison let off a loud moan as she gripped the bed in pain.
While the two were distracted with their passions a white wolf roamed the halls. With the castle almost empty it strolled through the darkness undetected. The two guards near the dungeon were discussing their boss's visitor.
"Lucky bastard getting a woman like that. Tempted to grab one of those humans."
"Don't drop so low man. Not when we have a princess and that farce of a vampire to play with."
"She could tell her sister you idiot!"
"Did you forget her face when we put them in? She's too shocked to even notice."
"If you get in trouble don't rope me into it. I'll say I was pissing or something."
The two were laughing as they prepared themselves. They were distracted not seeing the wolf enter the hall. It charged forward dissipating into the wind as it swept by the two men. As the wolf reformed in front of them they fell to pieces. A pool of blood trickled down the steps of the dungeon.
The wolf ran to the throne room, and then outside to the bridge. It stared at the roof where five vampires stood before dissipating. Each of them is a devoted follower of Marcus, and that was the signal they were waiting for.
"We can't let this moment go to waste."
The one leading them was an older woman named Victoria. They swiftly dashed into the castle gathering the keys from the fallen guards. Once the blood was at the foot of the dungeon everyone was on guard, but when the two saw Victoria they were calmed.
"We need to get moving now," Victoria said while unlocking the door.
"Not without the people," Emilia replied as she struggled to stand.
"Taking you three out will already be hard enough," Victoria announced as she ordered the others to wait outside.
"You can barely stand, and we will come back for them I promise," Arthur said while picking her up.
"We will be fine with just the three of us. There's a hidden exit that can take us to the forest. So please help them instead." Emilia begged.
Without having to watch them it would make her job easier. Victoria looked over at Cassandra for input, and she nodded in approval without hesitation. Helping people was how she was raised.
"I can't do anything about the civilians, but we can maybe get the kids. Arthur when your free circle towards the gate distracting the men. This is for you by the way." Victoria said while handing Cassandra a letter.
