Beep...
Beep...
Beep...
With each resounding beep emitted from the vital signs monitor, the surgeon doctor presiding over Eddison's surgery felt his lungs heavy with an immeasurable pressure of oxygen.
If he was to accomplish this surgery with a 3% rate of success, the infamous organization would complete him a transaction of 70 billion dollars.
He has no idea why this 16-year-old youth would fetch up so much worry and care, nor does he know where this boy came from, but he knows one thing; money is money.
An ominous glacier liquid constantly flowed into the boy's bloodstream, suppressing the red blood cells through every nook and cranny while simultaneously clashing against the white blood cells.
Eddison's body violently trembled and shook. A mass of foam began to seep through his pale lips.
"Tissues!" Dr.Mark shouted in a low voice...
An assistant nurse hurriedly brought an immaculate white tissue to clean off Eddison's mouth.
She looked at his face with fear and concerns, this nurse was very emphatic towards kids, not to mention Eddison resembled her younger brother.
However, when the woman caught a glimpse of Eddison's deep blue eyes, she felt as if he was staring right through her soul.
For a moment, she doubted if they have successfully provided Eddison with a pentazocine syringe.
Those weren't the eyes of an unconscious patient!
"D-doctor!... H-he... he... he is looking at me!" The nurse cried out in alarm.
The doctor impatiently waved his hand and nonchalantly said, "Naturally... we can't integrate the Bio Nanos into his marrow if he wasn't at least 10% conscious..."
"Nevermind that! Focus on your job!" Dr.Mark added.
"..."
With only 10% of his brain being conscious, Eddison lost his ability to move or speak, but he could faintly utilize the remains of his senses to listen in on the conversations.
Although pain washed over the majority of his collective clarity, some incoherent memories flashed through his eyes as he looked at the distressed woman in front of him.
He recalled that it was his birthday, he spent the day-time with a group of friends because his big sister, mother, and father were preparing a night-time birthday party.
Eddison used to be a shut-in neet who enjoyed video games... If it wasn't for his family insisting that he should invite his online squad of friends to meet for some outdoor activities for a change, he wouldn't have agreed.
Surprisingly, his friends were very enthusiastic about an outdoor meeting which left him perplexed. Eddison thought his friends would rather spend the weekend on video games, but they ruthlessly opposed his desires!
Ultimately, his friends sent him some coordinates for an unknown, desolate skating park.
He never thought twice about the oddness of such a desolate location, he simply assumed that his friends never liked populated zones as they are also shut-in neets.
However, he never would have thought that these friends were entangled with an underground organization. At least, it wasn't until he felt a hard object smack onto his scalp.
The last thing he could recall was the warm sensation washing over his head, then his vision dimmed in a scarlet red curtain that slowly added into infinite darkness.
Now, he is suffering traumatizing pain through every cell and nerve inside his body, yet he was forbidden from the right to express his pain, even his eyes couldn't shed a single tear.
