"TITAN."
Titan smiled, one of his classic smiles that he always gave out to everyone, including her. One of his boyish smiles, that always told her he had something that he was trying to hide from her. Secrets, that he never told her.
Somehow it always seemed mocking to her, a smile that always mocked her because she couldn't figure him out. Not even if she tried. And so she hated that smile because no matter how much she tried to not let it distract her it always it and she failed every time in figuring him out.
Titan had a habit of keeping her at arms length. But she wouldn't blame him, not after what she did to his brother.
"Miss me." He said, humourless.
Her heart felt like it would rip out of her chest, pounding loud and fast.
Thump- thumping in her chest. What was he doing here? How were all these vampires getting though the protection barrier, she'd casted? Had they found a way to break it after all this time. But that was impossible the spell to unseal it would have to include her own blood, and she was sure of it, she never gave them that.
Gabriel was defiantly not going to be happy with this, especially since he was somewhat breathing down her neck lately. He had become suspicious of her because she was causing for more trouble than necessary, but who would blame her.
She was trying to keep everyone alive here, trying to protect them from the truth. Even if Gabriel knew the truth himself, he had a hand to play in this far more than she ever did.
"Aren't you going to let me in?" Titan said, raising both his eyebrows with a slight humour to it, as his eyes open wide slightly with the movement. And his smile drew wider than before.
But the frown that lingered on her lips, didn't seem to leave and never did it turn itself upside up. It just remained there, hanging down. "Not in the slightest." She said sternly.
"But if you don't let me in, you won't know why I'm here." He said again, edging her just like devils advocate, tempting her into something she didn't want in the first place. Or at least that's what's she was telling herself.
Titan soon after made a sad face, that was far more mocking than his smile he had given her when she'd first opened the door. Ironic, it felt like she was opening the door to the past.
"No, but you'll tell me anyway." She said folding her arms.
"Doesn't work that way Ace, not anymore." He replied, but she flinched at her nickname, she'd hated it when he called her that when they were young...and seemed he still liked to call her that name.
"How did you get through my barrier?" She asked ignoring his remark completely.
"You're not the only witch in the world Ace, I thought you knew better than that." He tutted.
"But it requires my blood, unless you had somehow took that too." Emily said monotone, yet it was a remark. He had a hand in playing in Marcel's sins. What he did to her was far more unforgiven than what she did... Atia didn't deserve what she got in return.
"Titan. Why am I not even surprised." Grayson had suddenly said, making his way to them. Stopping right behind Emily, leaning against the wall behind her.
"Turns out my brother has a bigger temper than I'd thought." He replied, but this puzzled her.
"Really, I hadn't notice." Grayson said sarcastically, rolling his eyes in the process.
Something didn't feel right? Was Grayson and Titan planning something against Marcel? But that was impossible because no matter how much Titan hated his brother, his family was far more important than anything, they came first- even before her.
"What are you planning Titan?" Emily asked, genially worried. Titan was smart but he was no match for Marcel, not even the slightest.
"That's For Me To Know And For You To Dot Dot Dot." He said cryptically. He looked at her in the eyes, his hawk-like eyes never really gave away anything, it was induration. Somehow they sucked the secrets she was hiding, instead of her reading his.
"Whatever you are trying to do, don't do it."
"Last time I checked, I don't have to listen to you anymore." He replied bitterly, his smile leaving his lips.
"I'm getting the feeling that you two know each other, more than you are both leading on." Grayson intervened. Looking far more confused than he'd ever done when she'd came to his 'rescue' If you could call it that.
Suddenly, this became far more complicated than they were. Firstly, Alison had been compelled to forget her mate.
How she was going to fix that she didn't know, the only person who could reverse that compulsion was the person who had compelled her in the first place. Although she had a feeling as to who he was, the only person that seems to be doing all of this. The main character in every bodies messed up lives. Marcel.
Grayson, had no idea but yet he seemed far more distracted by the fact that soon he'd have to face Gabriel and he wasn't the most friendly person, especially when it came to someone who had worked with Marcel. Son or not.
Marcel and Gabriel never got a long, not even when they were children.
Secondly, Titan stood at her brother's front door. Someone who she'd been looking for, for so many years, and here he was right in front of her. As nice it was to see his face once again, and for that weight on her shoulders to finally drop, he was alive that's all she wanted to know.
Thirdly, her niece was God knows where. Maybe she was fine, and she had gone for a run but somehow even she didn't believe that. Marcel had entered their house and had compelled Liz to stab herself, who knows what he had compelled Alison to do? That thought was more troubling than anything on her mind.
Was the prophecy finally about to come true. No, it can't. She had done everything in her power for it not to. There was always a loop whole, and she was certain she had found it. No one else had to suffer because of their mistakes.
No matter what she had seen in her visions. She wasn't going to let it happen, not this time.
The symbol flashed within her mind. What it did to Atia when she had worn it, it ate at her soul, draining her life the more she'd worn it until it drove her completely mad. It held a darkness even she couldn't beat.
When the world had became a pencil drawing, dark. For in the wake of disease came a famine and then war, with death as reaper. It had almost killed her the last time and she only contained it, never was she able to kill it.
Never will she be able to get rid of the chaos, a simple destruction.
Emily was going to do whatever she had to to protect her. Atia had to be protected. And she had to keep him as far away as possible, She couldn't risk Grayson getting to close to her.
"I told you Graydoll-" Titan began to say but his sentence came short, he was cut off mid sentence.
A powerful force, surged through the open air, pushing their bodies to fall hard. They felt with a thud. Like an explosive bomb had suddenly gone off, but only it wasn't. It was magic and Emily knew what type of magic it was. It was dark and powerful.
