"Miss Mar, at this moment, Drake disappeared without a trace. What are we going to do?" Eliezer asked.
Jaymianne, the CEO of MSCI, called an urgent meeting with all the managers of every department. It became a crisis since there was a big loss of money for the Martin Enterprises project.
The staff needed to know about the crisis and could come up with a solution. However, 20 million dollars was their 2 monthly profit as of this year and it was impossible to bring it back in just one week.
"What happened to the investigation, Cheslea?" The CEO implored.
"The headquarters cooperated with us for the CCTV footage all over the town. But we suspected that someone helped him to get away without any trace." She explained.
"But we found footage that Drake indeed came back two weeks before he disappeared. He walked inside your office to get something. Have you noticed something was missing?" Cheslea added.
"As I checked, nothing was missing. I don't know what information he could gather inside my office. Unless…"
"What is it?" Eliezer asked.
"It was… nothing." She mumbled and crossed her arms
"Miss Mar, we get it about what happened to Drake but how are we supposed to avoid the bankruptcy of the company?" One of the managers asked.
Jaymianne sighed and explained, "I still need to find a solution to that. It could be hard but I need to take action and be responsible for it. This project was given to me since the CEO wanted me to personally work on this."
"But Miss Mar, 20 million dollars is a large amount of money, how will you fix that problem? Martin Enterprises will definitely sue the company for stealing their money for the project." A manager from the accountant department asserted.
"As I said, I'll be responsible for what will happen. I will fix this, we still have one week to bring the 20 million dollars back." She answered.
"We couldn't renounce this company, Miss Mar. There were lots of staff who would lose their jobs. We are trusting you, CEO, to fix everything." One of the managers said,
"Don't worry about that, Mr. Gonzalez. I'll do my best not to lose my company. But for now, let's focus on the projects from another company. We might lose the project from Martin Enterprises, we have other companies who rely on us."
Her staff didn't say anything and gave their trust in her. It wasn't the first time their company fell into the graveyard.
They knew Miss Mar would do everything to make things work.
"Miss Mar, the secretary of Martin Enterprises called today…" Cheslea broke the silence.
They looked at her and waited for the news. Yet, Jaymianne didn't want the staff to get involved about the project that was given by Martin Enterprises.
"Let's dismiss the urgent meeting. If you need to report, come to my office after lunch." She said and stood from the chair.
She walked straight to her office and Cheslea followed behind. She crouched to her seat and waited for her secretary's report.
However, she remembered about the CCTV footage where Cheslea gave it to her last night. So, she walked through her drawers and looked for something missing.
And all of the documents were completely fine. There wasn't anything missing. She walked back to her desk and looked at the drawers.
"What are you doing, Jayme?"
"I'm checking the documents if something was missing but there wasn't. I think he photocopied the documents but what is it?"
"Do you think he copied your plan for your biggest investor?"
"My biggest investor? Wait a minute… are you talking about my investor, Mr. Santos?"
"Yes… and as far as I know, Eliezer and I were the only ones who knew about that."
Then, she looked for the documents and they were in a safe place. She sighed in relief and hugged the documents.
"It's safe. Anyway, what do you want to discuss with me?" She asked and placed the documents inside the drawer.
"Don't be surprised, Jayme but the CEO of Martin Enterprises wanted the supplies to be delivered by tomorrow morning. No question asked."
Her eyes widened, shivered down to her spine, and felt terrified from the bad news. It was too soon for the deadline and she couldn't complain.
Martin Enterprises gave them lots of time to prepare the supplies and was willing to give a large amount of money for the project. Nonetheless, it wasn't ready until now.
"Ches… what are we going to do? It was too soon and we weren't ready. In fact, we haven't even started yet. We're doomed, Ches."
Cheslea saw her panicking and ran towards her. She caressed her back to soothe her but she was having a panic attack.
"Jayme… calm down. Take a deep breath okay? You'll be fine. Everything will be fine." She mumbled while caressing her back.
Jaymianne didn't know what to do. She couldn't handle the stress anymore and her panic attack episodes started due to stress.
"Water… please. I need some… water." She murmured and it was enough for Cheslea to hear it.
"Okay."
Cheslea ran towards the pantry table and poured some water. Jaymianne leaned her back at the chair and took a deep, heavy sigh. She strived to calm down so she could concentrate on the problem.
"Here."
Jaymianne smiled at her and instantly, she accepted the glass of water and drank it all in a split second.
"Thank you." She mumbled and placed it on the table.
"Are you okay now?"
"Yes, thank you for calming me down. Anyway, about the project for Martin Enterprises."
"Yes and what about it?"
"I can't just sit here and watch the company fall into the ground. I can't let our guard down so I need to fix this." She murmured and glanced at her secretary.
"What are you going to do?" She asked.
"Make me an appointment to the CEO's secretary. I'll talk to the CEO myself." She commanded.
