Seeing her always calm looking friend getting angry Lu Qian knew that she was at fault. She turned to mother Zhao and said, "Sorry aunty it was my fault".
Looking at her downcast face mother Zhao got up from her seat and went to Lu Qian. She patted her on back, "That's ok. Go to the room and rest I will do the work". Mother Zhao pushed her lightly towards the door.
She went to the next floor and walked towards Zhao Mei's room. At the door she hesitated for a while then made up her mind and opened the door. There was no one in the room. She checked the whole room as well as bathroom but there was no one. So she concluded that she must be in the study room.
Lu Qian walked out of the room and headed to the study room. She knocked on the door and waited for a while but didn't received any response. She sighed and opened the door. She saw Zhao Mei sitting at the piano while flipping through a book.
Lu Qian towards her and waited for her look at her. Seeing that Zhao Mei has ignored her presence Lu Qian sat beside her on the stool. "Meimei I am really sorry. You know me I totally forgets about everything while shopping. I am really sorry".
Looking at her friends puppy eyes Zhao Mei felt helpless but she didn't show that on her face as knew if she forgive her easily she will never learn her lesson. So Zhao Mei didn't said anything and continued to read the book. When they were sitting silently they heard a knock at the door and saw father Zhao entering the room.
Lu Qian looked at him sadly. Just from her expression he knew that Zhao Mei was still angry. She walked towards her and handed both glass of milk. Then tried to start a new topic.
"Qianqian when are your parents returning from the business trip? And have you told them about your enrolment?"
"Yes uncle I called them yesterday to tell them about my enrolment at X university. They were very happy about it and said they will return in three days".
"So till they return you should stay with us.", said mother Zhao as she entered the room. Zhao Mei sighed as she saw everyone gathering in the study.
At her words Lu Qian secretly glanced at Zhao Mei to see her reaction. But there was no change in her expression. She stood up and took another book from shelf.
Mother Zhao shook her head at her daughters behaviour and chose to break the ice by asking Zhao Mei directly. "Meimei you won't mind her staying here will you?".
Zhao Mei turned back to look at them and said, "Don't look at me. I don't mind her staying her here". After saying this she turned to leave the study room with the book in her hand. While exiting she said "Good night" and went towards her room.
Lu Qian turned to look at mother Zhao happily as she understood her best friend's words very well. Father Zhao nodded his head at her. "You will stay in Zhao Mei's room alright. Now go and rest early you must be tiered from all the shopping you have done", said mother Zhao.
Lu Qian nodded her head as she was really tiered. She bid them good night and went towards the bedroom.
