We are gathered today to mourn a man with a good heart, who loved and showed compassion towards everybody let us not forget that as we live we should be ready to

meet our passing...

I was very young when my father delivered me to him for payment of his debt, at first I didn't understand what was going on until I was dressed in a white gown walking down the aisle then I realized that this was it_______ my marriage to an old man. He

wasn't just an ordinary man he was

endowed with so much wealth and he could have whoever he wants as his wife but why me I usually wondered. As time passes by I developed feelings for him because of how tender and sweet he was but it was never meant to be. Tears rolled down my eyes as I dropped the flowers I held in my hands on his grave.

I couldn't believe I would fall for a man like this so I vowed to myself never to

smile, laugh and most of all fall in love again.

Everybody offered their condolences and some whispered something like " she's too young to lose her husband" why some said I wonder what killed him. Mr Moore my late husband had died from a severe heart attack due to stress from work and before anybody could get to where he was he gave up the ghost but not much people knew about that, so they presume.

A year has passed since my husband passing and the will was read my late husband who never got a chance to marry early and had married me when I was young passed all of his property to my name including his company at first I was shocked and actually wanted to refuse it then the lawyer explained everything to me, I asked for six months to think about it.

Right now am on my bed choosing one of my black dresses to wear, since my husband passing I started wearing only black dress.

"That black dress look like I've worn it for two weeks, it's already outdated, change it"

"You recently bought it and you haven't worn it" Maddie my PA replied, I raised my head up to look at the dress.

"take it, it's looking old anyways look for something better on that wardrobe" I said as I pointed at a new gothic black wardrobe.

I went back to my phone to respond to a disturbing client who won't accept the deal I am offering, that when we heard a knock on my door I called out to Maddie to answer whoever it was my eyes were still fixed on my phone cause today I had to settle the deal with the client and during the board meeting I also have to present my budget for the save a child campaign, I always wonder why I had to go through this protocol especially when I am the sole owner of the company.

"Miss Moore your driver is ready to pick you up and your breakfast is served" a lady in her mid thirties said I signal her with my hands to leave, I got up and went into the bathroom to take a shower.

I dressed up and went down and asked my usual question, the question always has an impact in me to tell me I was tough and still is, but the response I got today was annoying cause I made sure everyone say "you look tough" it's was a very simple word, everybody who was watching too were shocked while I was astonished then I asked another beside her who gave the answer I was hoping for "you look tough Miss Moore" then I turned to look at the girl who was really shaking then I moved closer and whispered softly "you are fired".

Tears rolled slowly from her eyes then she knelt down and started begging I couldn't look cause if I did I'll have compassion so I walked away with my PA following me.

The meeting was a success they had agreed with budget I proposed for the "save the children", I had my bath dressed up in my night gown and went into the study or should I my silent place I sat down on the chair picked up my laptop switched it on then someone knocked the door, I grumbled softly.

I can't have peace and quiet if every single time they knock the door  "come in"

It was Mrs Williams the woman second in command in this house she's the only one I could talk to freely she was the one who took care of me the first day I stepped my foot in here she understands me better than anyone else.

"Monalisa we need to talk" she said looking at me firmly

"what have I done this time MOM" I teased her.

"How dare you fire Laura like that" her Spanish accent echoed throughout the room.

"Who is Laura?" ignoring the tone she used on me

"You don't even know who she is and yet you fired her".

"I still don't know who she is, to be frank I don't care". I said raising an eyebrow up to see her face

"Let me refresh that memory of yours" she turns to open the door then a young girl walked in that when I remember the same girl I fired this morning for the reply she gave me, as I looked at her I really felt guilty but I refuse to show it.

"Monalisa does she look familiar to you?" She asked. I looked at Mrs Williams and I asked if she could leave us alone.

" No I will not, whatever you want to say, say it while am here"

"Please just leave, give me five minutes to fix this okay" . She finally left after so much persuasion then I looked up to see this Laura girl her head was down "look at me and take a seat...feel comfortable". She did as she was told.

"I understand you are Laura right?"

She gave a nod I accepted it cause of I assume that she was shy, tell me more about yourself Laura.

And for the first time since like forever I was moved by compassion for her I kept on thinking as she ran on about herself then finally I asked " would you like to work for me?".

She replied swiftly "yes I would like to be your maid"

I sighed then I said "I meant for you to work for me in my company".

She looked at me really shocked "I'd love to Miss Moore, but I don't have that kind of experience"

"You don't need experience to work for me and before Maddie my PA will leave I'll ask her to educate you on that kind of work for the mean time you'll be working under Maddie"

"But Miss Maddie will be jobless" she said

Then I gave her an reassuring reply. "Maddie won't be jobless I'll simply promote her just like I'll promote you when you work really hard"

"Thank you so much you've really helped my family just by this kind gesture"

"Am glad I could help, I also hope am forgiven and please never speak of this to anyone If you were asked how you got a job at my company simply say you got lucky okay". "You can go, tomorrow make sure you're up early it's gonna be a busy day."

The door pushes open "seems like someone was eavesdropping" I said aloud.

"Someone had to look out for her right, Lisa dear thanks"

"No problem and besides I don't want you to be angry at me."

"Go to bed" she said as she leads Laura out of the study.
