With my face damp, I wake up. Did I have a nightmare again? Why is my body hurting? Sitting up slowly, I glance around. I am not in my room. My hand has a familiar drip injected inside.
Why am I in the hospital again? Touching my bump, I gasp. Why does it feel so light? Where is my baby?! Crying as thoughts cloud my mind, I hurriedly pull off the drip from my hand and climb out of the hospital bed, ignoring the pain in my stomach.
The door suddenly opens as I run towards it and an exhausted looking Panda King stares at me with wide eyes. I run pass him, trying to leave the room so I can find a doctor and find out what is happening. I am so confused.
"Tina! Tina, please calm down." Panda says as he holds me in his arms, preventing me from leaving. He worriedly holds my hand. "You're bleeding. Please listen to me Tina and sit down. Let me sort your hand out."
My body feels cold as I stare at him in disbelief, "What did you do to my baby? What did you do to my baby?!" I scream hysterically, hitting my fists against his chest as he holds me gently.
"Tina," He stares into my eyes, his ocean blue eyes intense. "Please listen to me. Our baby is safe."
Confused, I stop hitting him and slump into his chest. "What?"
"Cub is fine." Panda says softly as he hugs me tightly. "You're the one who isn't."
"W-what happened? I am so confused." I mutter quietly.
"You were in a comatose state for four months." Panda says in a hoarse voice. Is he crying? "The doctors managed to operate in time and took Cub out safely."
"I don't remember what happened." I say, leaning my head into him. "Cub is really safe right?" I ask.
"I'll take you once you are better. You should rest Tina." He says gently.
"No, I want to go and see our baby now." I say stubbornly. I can't rest until I know for certain that my child is safe and well.
Why was I in a coma for so many months?
"I'll take you." Panda says softly, cleaning my bleeding hand.
I nod and he places a plaster on it before holding my other hand. "Thanks." I say emotionally as he takes me out of the room. The corridors are empty since it is night time.
We walk to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The room for newborn babies is opposite. As I lean against the glass window, Panda points out one of the babies inside.
"Do you want to go inside? We have to wear the safety uniform." He explains and brings two blue hospital hats and an outer layer to wear over our clothes.
Holding his hand, I silently follow him inside the room. He smiles as we walk to one of the small baby cots near the corner of the room.
I gaze down at the cute baby. His eyes are the same ocean blue shade as Panda's and the small hairs on his head are brown. I feel overwhelmed with emotion as I smile and slowly reach out my hand.
My heart quickens as the beautiful blue eyed baby immediately curls his little index finger around my thumb as if he knows who I am. "Wow." I whisper with tears in my eyes. I never imagined I would see this.
"He recognises you already." Panda grins, squeezing my other hand.
"He has your eyes." I say with a smile.
"And your hair." Panda smiles. "I can't believe we finally have a complete family of our own."
"When will we really become a family?" I ask quietly. Panda's mother won't like me at all since her standard is Ciarra Lake. I shiver as I recall the previous incidents.
"Don't worry Tina. Once you are better, we will prepare for marriage." He says gently.
"You make it sound so easy." I chuckle.
"You don't believe me?" Panda asks, "Whilst you were here, Ciarra was arrested and of course my mother received a huge blow. She was in shock that her perfect and beloved daughter-in-law candidate was involved with drugs. I decided to tell her the truth about everything which happened because of Ciarra and my mother is coming to terms with it. She won't reject you anymore Tina." He reassures.
"Thank you Pan." I smile and lean my head against his chest.
"The doctor told me little Cub is healthy and well so once you are better, we can all go home together." He says softly.
"We should start thinking of a better name than Cub." I laugh quietly.
"Leave it to me." He grins, "Although, I still quite like Cub."
I pinch his arm, "I don't want to see my son suffer because of his dad's odd choice in names."
"Fine, fine." He chuckles, surrendering, "I'll search for proper names for our son."
"That's more like it." I grin and stand on my tiptoes, kissing his cheek. I find it amusing how his whole face and ears still turn a shade of red when I touch him.
"Sh-shall we head back now? We snuck in pass visiting hours. I don't want the doctors to chase us out." He whispers.
Sadly, I glance down at Cub. He is still wide awake and holding onto my thumb. When will I see him again? I don't want to part at all but Panda is right. We should leave before we are caught.
"Bye Cub. Mummy will come to see you again soon." I say quietly, reluctantly sliding my thumb out of his tiny grasp.
"Come on." Panda says gently, pulling me out of the room.
I glance through the glass window longingly. I want to stay with my baby. Panda hugs me and pulls me away.
"You should rest now Tina." He says.
I nod, "I don't want to leave Cub alone. Won't he be too lonely in there?"
"Don't worry, you can request the doctor to bring him over to you tomorrow. For now we should get some sleep." Panda steers me towards my room.
"You're right. Let's sleep first." I say.
