Some of the office women still give me flirty looks when I follow Panda King to the company. As usual, I smile and nod at them awkwardly.
"Pan, you have a meeting in two hours." I read aloud from his schedule.
"What is it about?" He asks, sitting in his office chair behind his desk.
"A meeting about the construction of the new mall which..." I stop as he holds up his hand.
"That's enough. Help me sort through these documents Tin." He says in his authoritative "work" voice.
I stare at the huge pile of files and papers piled up on his desk.
"All these?"
"Yes. Is there a problem?" He asks with a raised eyebrow.
"You're helping me right?" I say. There is no way I will be able to get all these edited and handed to him by the end of the day.
"Of course not. I am sorting out the documents for the meeting. As an order from your boss, I want these finished today." He says seriously.
"Damn it." I mutter under my breath, "I knew a jerk like him couldn't have changed."
"Did you say something?" Pan asks, glancing up from his meeting prep.
Quickly shaking my head, I begin taking the documents and files off his desk and transfer them to mine. My desk is actually just a spare one he set up for me in his office.
Sometimes, I wonder whether it is me who is keeping an eye over him or it is Panda King who is keeping an eye over me.
At half nine, I stretch my arms and glance at Pan. He seems to have finished preparing for the meeting and is now playing games on his phone. I can tell by his facial expressions exactly what he is thinking.
On the other hand, I still haven't managed to edit a quarter of the documents on my desk. I doubt I will finish everything today. Plus, I will also have to waste an hour in the meeting with Pan.
At 9:50am, I walk behind Panda King to the meeting room on the first floor. As his assistant and secretary, I have to jot down the minutes of the meeting. Try-not-to-yawn challenge during meetings is the most difficult.
"Tin."
"Tin!"
A shaking sensation causes my eyelids to fly open as I shout, "Earthquake!"
A chuckle from in front of me pulls my attention to none other than my boss. I frown as I stare around.
"Why did you wake me up?"
"You fell asleep in the middle of the meeting. You probably missed most of it." He glances at the pen and notebook in my hands, "You're lucky I recorded it."
"Thank you Pan!" I exclaim happily and lunge my arms around his neck in a bear hug.
His body stiffens as I lean into him. Have I forgotten something?
"Did I snore?" I ask in horror, pulling away quickly.
A smirk embraces his lips, "In a rhythmic beat. You should think about changing careers to music."
"Paaaan!" I whine, covering my face with my hands. "You should have woken me up instead of letting me humiliate myself."
He grins, "I doubt you would have woken up anyway."
I scowl at him, "You're horrible."
Pan leans forward, "You look cute when you drool."
"Pan!" I say in embarrassment. As I see the amusement in his eyes and that playful smirk, I smack his shoulder. "You're teasing me!"
"You're so cute and gullible Tin."
My face heats up but a moment later, I frown. Did he just insult me?
When I try to move my feet, my left leg is numb. It must still be asleep. I stumble a little but my left foot twists painfully.
"Ow!" I wince as I fall.
Fortunately, a pair of strong arms catch me in time and I find myself staring up into Panda King's calm ocean blue eyes.
"Are you alright?" He asks worriedly, holding me up.
I nod, "I'm fine. My leg was just numb."
Trying to take a step, my foot hurts more. Have I really twisted it?
"Let's go to the hospital." Pan says after seeing me struggle for a few minutes.
"No, I'm okay–"
Whisked off my feet, I gasp as Pan lifts me up bridal style in his arms. Does he plan to carry me like this through the company?!
"I'm fine, you can let me go." I protest in his arms.
He shakes his head and leans his face down to mine, "Stop struggling Tin or I will strip you and take you to the hospital."
I gape at him in shock. Is this man threatening me?!
"It's not a threat, you know I will really do it." He smirks evilly.
Punching his chest, I give in. "You're an asshole Panda King."
"I know." He grins and carries me out of the company building, ignoring the whispers and stares which follow us.
